  • ‘Devil’ has always been a material which spur an imagination of many composers, and Franz Liszt (1811-1886, Hungary) wasn’t an exception.
    He was a literary enthusiast as well as a great musician. He enjoyed to write a music based on some serious theme like Dante or Faust.
    ‘Mephisto Waltz’ is also based on a story about Faust. Unlike the Symphony Faust, however, it didn’t derive from the Goethe’s ‘Faust’, but a Lenau’s poem.
    The music depicts a person being dictated, and enticed by Mephistopheles in a pub.

    I've always loved this piece-specifically the build up starting at around 7:05, Liszt's climaxes have always scratched a certain itch I have in classical music. Love this performance overall.

    • @povop9028
      @povop9028  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actually I used my fourth fingers in bad way till that days..by the way, it's also true I had experienced a volume matter especially with weak fingers. I did nothing special to improve the power of them but they were quite improved after I practiced Dante sonata few years ago. I think this is because I used my fingers a lot as they are splayed, to play a lot of octaves. When you splay your fingers, you become easy to focus on the independent power of each finger. If you try to play strong in the condition, you will get more stimulus on your part of forearm which is corresponding with the finger you play. It may help to improve the power you need I guess..however, It's just my personal opinion. Please do not believe too much:)

    • @bleubiscuit
      @bleubiscuit 2 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      ok
      1) its not mediocre, he has only spent a month learning and practicing this, i consider this progress extremely good as he was able to play the entire piece near performace tempo, although it wasnt the best interpretation, having the piece learnt up to this tempo in a month is impressive
      2) he wasnt boasting at all, not even by a single bit
      definition of boast: talk with excessive pride and self-satisfaction about one's achievements, possessions, or abilities.
      he did not do any of those.
      3) you have no right to say if go pro is for classical music or not
      go pro is a form of recording videos and this man decided to use it because no one else (not to my knowledge) has used this type of recording, which then makes his channel more unique and special. perhaps someday he may get a better mic to enhance the sound quality of his playing, but besides that, go pro isnt meant for classical music, but that does not mean it is inappropriate to use go pro to capture ones playing.
      therefore your comment has no point whatsoever and is only showing that you are envious of what this man is capable of :)
      what a way to make a clown out of yourself

      @@bleubiscuit ...so it is better to go on practicing... couple of years more, I think;) I`m sure the result would be immesurably better! But if You like it it as it is - keep liking:) And it is entirely my own care which rights I do have! I had no intention to insult anybody. But i do have my standpoint! My personal professional reaction on this recording.... Ich habe mein ganzes Leben in der Musik gelebt und Ich weiss, wovon Ich rede!

      @@mikhailtrushechkin1642 yes it still has a lot of improvements to be done, but understand that this is a 1 month progress, and that itself is pretty impressive
      perhaps it should take him a few more months to polish the piece further, i dont think itll take a couple of years more as thats just too much time, unless if the pianist wants mephisto as his signature piece. but overall, it is a great performance for a 1 month progress, and taking into account of what recording hes using, the audio definitely isnt going to sound as great because it is recorded on a gopro and the sound is suppressed, causing the piano to have a lack of dynamics and eventually making the sound of the piano not as good in the end. still, i think this is a great performance for a month worth of progress and i hope this man shows us his polished performance of this piece with a proper recording setup :)

      @@bleubiscuit Dear Sir! Definitly this unknown pianist has enough skills to perform Mephisto successfully:) May be it will take him a few more months, as You say. Any way this piece is a great job and challenge for any pianist! From my standpoint, it was his mistake to publish ...1 month progress:) People don`t know if it is his first attempt or final result!:) I use to persuade all my students - Don`t ever show the half of your job! Any plant has its time to grow! Don`t hurry:) Are You agree?:)
