IMO, the V lacks of glitch compared to the IV, this makes it less kind of aggressive... I don't know about the I. The glitch effect is what makes it appart from all other pitch pedals.
the reissue replicates pretty decent the sound, with a few updated features. but the organic chorus sound of the detuned section is completely another history
The V has more fidelity (it only took Digitech 30 years to catch up with the original licensed algorithm). Since the first is more filtered and probably has a bit more lag between the dry and wet signals, makes sense that the chorus (detune) effect sounds nicer.
I owned WH-1 for years and decided to sell it due to the suck tone issue. Thinking of getting the WH-5. WH-5 seems a greater replacement because it can hold chords better. And the sound is bigger compared to WH-1. In my honest opinion.
It is just what is needed! Thank you! You didn't only mention that V has true-bypass and standart 9v DC. By the way, what is the difference between placing it before and after OD?
dude... the 1 sounds so good. instant radiohead vibes... is it worth paying $400 on ebay for the 1, or is the 5 going to be fun enough/not really matter mixed with overdrive and played live... trying to nail those radiohead tones
You should consider throwing everything into a 5150 at the end of every demo, even if that ain't your thing... You know.. just for the younger generations... or just for agiggles and showing a variety of different uses. Might add 25%-50% more subscribers.
It really irks me when the original still sounds better... Often, it makes me buy neither. The 5 can still do some rad stuff... but now we're talking about spending over $500 to get both and end up with a massive pedal board...

Didn't even have the decency to use his foot! Argh!!!

I wouldnt put that thing anywhere except in the front of the chain, as if it was the guitar itself, since thats what you want it to sound like.

Young people love 5150s? Hmm
I used to own the original and dT and the original was so amazing, whammy 1 is alive
How does one get to Carnegie hall?
practice
Wh-1 sounds less organic which is why its so loved and also lasts much much longer!

I didnt hear anything thing that sounded better on the original. Unless you like the digital clipping/glitchy more processed sound.
@@realtruenorth it's better for leads with delay. The wh-1 is a classic
@@Psyfonify seems like digitech should be able to at least match their own original..
@@realtruenorth yea!
Why is he pushing it eith his hand?
Apple New Orleans cos if they were on the floor, he’d have to keep bending over to adjust the settings. it’s not rocket surgery
@@coldacre I just use my foot to roll the knob yo. Not too hard to do on the fly
Because.they wanna sell it with no footprints on the pedal :)
Do you know how to step the pedal? Not with a hand, use a feet
Do you know how to type? Not “use a feet” its “use a foot”
will never understand why people use a tubescreamer as a stand alone overdrive. it sounds like shit and too thin by itself
5 much better )
