Making Custom Sleeper Extensions | recycling parts | Custom Grand Hauler Kenworth W900 Rc Truck

- I thought id give you an update on my custom Tamiya Grand Hauler Rc Truck build as its progressing nicely and is starting to look more like a stertched custom Kenworth W900 semi truck which was in fact the original look I wanted but without the stertched chassis.
In this i thought id show you some custom sleeper extention side skirt thingies im on with making for a more unique looking sleeper and all I used was the original roof cap of the sleeper which i cut off to swap for the kenworth aero bunk so this has cost me nothing and if your customising your own truck and have also swapped out the roof then dont throw it and you can make your own, also a few other parts have arrived, its just a case of saving up for the airbrush paints now

Those extentions came out great and look like they're mental to be there.
Being from the roof they're a perfect fit, once they're shaped properly and stuck on the sleeper and filled it'll look like it was always there 👍
Really nice detail work...you're not cutting corners but taking your time .
I'd built it as a basic Grand Hauler and slowly over the last couple of years all the chassis has been upgraded and I want the best possible paint finish i can achieve as I'll be airbrushing it instead of rattle cans, so all the time is on the prep work at the moment, but it will all be worth it when completed 👍👍👍

I kind of got bored with building the basic kits so that's why I started converting this Grand Hauler, I have the complete build series in my channel where I built it as a basic Grand, then I started replacing all the parts and ended up here 😊👍

I would like the build a Kenworth W900L Aerodyne, an "old school" 1985 Peterbilt that i drove here in my profile picture, & another "old school" Peterbilt that belong to my dad when i was younger. It was a dark red & silver colored tandem axle dump truck! Perhaps one of these day, hopefully sooner than later, lol. Thanks again!

🤣🤣 My nickname for Chinese goods... I was reluctant to buy it at first as the whole rig is built from Lesu, Gpm and Rc4wd but I believe it will look the mutts nuts so I got it 😊😊👍
There'll be plenty to come as I'm currently buying up odds and ends off ebay and fellow modellers so I can move away from standard kit builds and get creative 😊👍
Is LESU as expensive in the UK as it is in the US? There's so many things I'd love to get. But this Old Disabled Fart can only do so much on a fixed income... ☹️

I just started with 1/14th Scale Semi Trucks just last year, only because of an Inheritance. I bought 7 kits at once!
Grand Hauler, 2 Globe Liners, 1850L Box Truck, the new 8X4 Tipper Truck, and 2 Trailers.
4 Beier Sound/Light modules, BUNCH of LESU Tyres, 2 full sets of Alumininium Wheels, 4 Gear Reduction Units...
Boxes of Paint.
And boxes of detail parts from Garden Trucking and Evilbay.
.... and now I'm out of money! 😭
But I've got a couple of years of fun work ahead of me!!! 👍👍
And watching your Hauler will be a lot of fun!

Hi Scotty can you tell me how to cut this 6" frame for my grand hauler I put to sleeper's together and smooth them into one bought a 6" frame and a 21" drive shaft I'm 74 years old and not sure where to cut no direction where to cut and no video to see where to start at can you direct me to a video or a diagram where to start so I don't mess it up this is a double sleeper thanks or send me a pic where to start the cut thanks remember it's a double sleeper

Yes going to fill all the lines then it's all smoothed and with the cab I got off you Im going to make an extended sleeper using the sleeper I cut off Rusty 😊 got too many projects on the go 🤣🤣 the tank is taking most of my time at the moment bro 👍👍👍
@@scotty555babe that will take some time to get the joint rite when u extend the sleeper with no joints in it then when u have done them ur have to build a low bro trailer to tow the stretched costum truck bro lol 😂
I'm going to use the lines which are at the front and rear of the sleeper for a clean cut and they should both just line up perfect..
Going to smooth the sleepers out as I've done on this then it doesn't look as tacky with doors, windows and rivets everywhere 🤣🤣
