    Thanks, for those who didn’t understand try to revise the basics of the computer structure (especially the bits system) and try to imagine the process of mapping.....if you don’t get it you might need to revise why we are mapping and what is the benefit of having a cache memory ( I suggests you read about “memory hierarchy” and why we need it.....because the video explains how the components in a certain hierarchy can communicate)

    Sir, thanks for providing these interesting and knowledgeable videos. I think one statement of yours needed to check back. In this video at time:4.36 you said that, In direct mapping, Multiple pages with same tag number cant be loaded at the same time. I think, this should be: In direct mapping, multiple pages with same line number(index) cant be loaded at the same time. Thanks

    I am yet to watch set associative, but in both direct and fully associative where the tag numbers are stored ? Cache memory?

    Thanks for providing such useful video lectures. It is helping a lot in studying computer organization. Really Great work Sir. But i think that the videos are not serialised and it is causing difficulty to learn the subject properly because i am not able to decide which video is to be seen first and which one after that. I will be highly obliged if u help me in this regard.

    Why the people are taking that much big size memories are taking in example? If you take small memory size, then it is easy to understand.

    U didn’t explain the reason why we use assossative mapping instead of direct mapping

    • @olj-
      @olj- 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      This disadvantage gets totally disappeared at fully associative cache mapping , next for further improvement we go for set-associative cache mapping

    You didn’t tell the disadvantage of direct mapping

    • @olj-
      @olj- 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The disadvantage with direct mapping is that pages can be fetched from memory to cache only at specific locations like some modulo relationship between memory address and cache address for pages / frames exist

      Direct mapping is not flexible. And no of cache miss in direct mapping is more
