Ok, hear me out. As a car enthusiast, I'm not a huge fan of electric cars for an enthusiast's vehicle, BUT if my car sounded anything like this I would be 100% down
Most electric cars do have a nice motor sound, but you can barely hear it due to interior sound dampening, on the other hand electric motorbikes you can hear it but most of the time they are very high RPM electric motors (often over 20k rpm) and they sound very high pitched like an RC car
Or like a train. Electric motors used in trains sounds much better than electric cars today imo. Not to mention few electric motors have melodic sound when accelerating
Sixty hertz is better for high power high distance transmisssiom while fifty hertz is better for low power low distance transmission. Also sixty hertz is beautiful sounding and I use it for sound therapy.

The motor will just sit there and hum and buzz and possibly vibrate. You will need to start it by hand. The only motor that’s single phase that does not need to start. Capacitor is a shaded pole motor. Those are very inefficient, but they don’t require any capacitors.
Wow, that actually sounds very quiet compared to gas or diesel engine motor car fan engines, which are as loud as heck when you have the car hood up and open when the fan turns on or at least so I've heard in literal sense as well as seen.
The carrier frequency is too low. Needs to be 20 khz or higher so people can't hear it. Soft-starting is easier on the load and less startup power draw for the utility, but the motor heats rapidly and isn't cooled effectively by its internal fan at less than full RPM. I expect large old motors like this may eventually be retrofitted with smaller separately driven cooling fans, so the motor can be cooled at less than full RPM. A similar overheating problem affects old vehicles with cooling fans direct-driven by the engine.

They often do sound nice, but not soft start because you don’t have the instant torque with a soft start lol

Motors of this size typically when they start up they are weak but after they get their momentum up they become extremely powerful
