This road test is way out of date, as it is the 1997 to 1999 model with angular styling and only a 1L engine. The later model with more rounded styling and a 1.3L engine was a much better car. It was also available for a while at only £5000 with built in air con. Although still in production elsewhere in the world, it was replaced on the European market in 2008 by the Suzuki Splash.
the Splash is a bad replacement I think :( In Japan I heard they still build Wagon R+ in later generations ...
and, sure its out of date, its a test from 1998, how should they have tested the next model back then?
The original Wagon R has much more unique design than its updated model which was also sold as Opel Agila.
I guess the first version has a bigger engine, I guess it was 1.2 liter.
Yes, Splash looks like another concept, more similar way to Alto.
