I like the idea of living on less, but if you have money to buy food and are depriving the truly indigent by taking from food kitchens, food pantries and handouts I think that aspect is immoral. Especially if you're just saving to buy a house or going on vacation.
Yes, that doesn’t feel ethical to me either. The demand for food banks exceeds the supply where I live; and you often need to have a budgeting consultation & be on a low income to be eligible. I’d suggest a ‘shop your pantry’ and ‘eat out of your freezer’ week using the $7 to supplement this.
Don’t get hurt and WALK. Jk it’s not reasonable at all. I eat steak, chicken and fish dishes every day for about $5-7 per day. My work is 25miles away so that’s $8 per day in gas. And I live lavishly in terms of food. I bet I could cut it down to $10 per day total
Once you buy the bike, it will cost you nothing to go from A to B with it. Obviously, some countries were designed around cars so a bike might not be safe to use. If you need to go to the doctor that is definitely a huge expense (you live in the US, right?) but hopefully you do not need it often. This is about trying to reduce costs to the bare minimum so you can save some $$$. If something happens, then you have savings to deal with it.
@@Salos1 You could reduce the amount of money you spend on food if you eat less to no animal products. Of course, if you work that far away it makes sense that you have the car. If you use it to go everywhere even if it is just around the corner, maybe that is something that could be substituted with walking. Anyway, 10/d is also a great! :)
I get 105 food stamps I get 10 lbs chicken thighs for $8.50 a London Broil beef and a ham and 5lbs hamburger. Hamburger I fry into patties put 2 each in food store bags and freeze. When making chili or spaghetti I use 2 patties and generic tomato soup kidney beans. Boil ham and separately chicken n beef till falls apart. Add corn celery peas green beans potatoes carrots n when room temp put all in qt mason jars freeze all but 2 in fridge eat 2 of each a week. That makes 3 meals a month for whatever. I share the chicken (with added egg noodles) with my cats that saves $1.05 a can of $3.15 that day or $6.3 week x 52 weeks makes over $300 year that savings I put to principal of mortgage. U need equiv6 2 eggs day for brain to function properly so I get 60 eggs from Walmart for $10 or 2 day. Olde fashioned oatmeal or waffles (each waffle has eq of 1 egg) chili for lunch n salad n popcorn for supper. Since most hard work for day is done. Cheap n good non fattening. For nite. It works don't have to use cash. Nutritious
Why not? It's healthier than 99.9% of how people tend to eat. And don't give me the damn "we need more bacon" spiel or "animal fats are essential for brain development". These are false statements.
I live extremely frugal and my expenses are about $300 by month. $150 for food and $150 to bills.
Wow.
I also spend about 150 € on food. Bills are a bit more than 150 but in total I spend about... 1300-1400 per month on everything I need.

It is not possible. One trip to the Dr can be $600 or more.
Bicycles are over $100.

@@Salos1 You cut it down to $10 but not $1. Imposible.

is that Shade Zahrai voice?
The suggested meal plan is NOT balanced at all
You can’t expect much with such a small amount. Food banks are available though.

You have carbs, you have protein and you have vegetables with their nutrients too. It is healthier than what most eat.
