- Brand X Ascend 2 Dropper Easy Install Guide
I have used Brand X droppers for years now and they are one of the most easiest to fit and so reliable and smooth. One of the cheapest of all droppers available and yet works better than some brands that are 3 times the price.
This is a step by step guide on how to fit your internal dropper (external is the same but obviously the cable runs down the outside of the seatpost) to your MTB (Mountain Bike). Hopefully this helps you out if you've never fitted one before to show how straight forward it is to fit.

Excellent video. One thing the instructions never tell you is to remove the outer cable end-caps if they are already attached as the outer won't feed through the frame with them on. I can't believe your cable just popperd straight out!
Best dropper pound for pound ever… fact 😊 And you sir have the luck of the Gods, first time with the cable… hell yeah 👊💥
Another top tip is to feed the inner cable through the frame first as it's easier to get out the other side and then simply feed the outer on to that once its through 👊
Great install guide, pretty straight forward. Some questions: Where do you get the cable foam inserts from, which make are they? Are you overall satisfied with the Brand X dropper? Cheers!
Hi Ariel, the inserts actually came with the frame but any small soft foam piping would work as well. Brand X droppers are great mate. I have had droppers twice the price and had nothing but issues but Brand X are really reliable and easy to maintain.
Need to change the cable on mine, been putting it off but that looks pretty easy tbf. However if it's gonna go wrong for anyone it will be me!
If your outer cable is fine with no kinks then bring a new inner with you and we can do in car park next time I see you. 2 minute job to change 👊

🤔just wondered if you get problems with a stuck lever only every now an then, or if my bikes been sitting for a while, like a day or 2🤔or could it be the cheap cable that came with it, and was not greased👍
Yeah the cables that come with them aren't great. I've always switched to a Shimano PTFE cable and no issues.

What lenght is the dropper inside de frame?I am asking because i noticed the scout frame has like a little dent in the seatpost?
I'm not sure on the actual internal measurement you'd have to check online but this is a Brand X 170mm dropper and fits great.
Awesome - is it just the one piece of foam you put in or does it need to be the entire length of the cable? Thanks

Yeah just the one piece is fine. It's just to stop it rattling about inside the frame so the foam cushions it a bit.

Mine is the Scout 290 on a medium frame with 170mm dropper and it's spot on. I'm 173cm tall.
@@SEKTAMTB Thank you so much ill get a 170mm thent oo.. Chain reaction had the 150mm on sale but i reckon it was too short for me and my frame.. I am 177/178cm. Thanks mate
