In my opinion. Slay seems to be more focused on trying to build his career after football than more of on the field now. He is still a solid player. the only time i see Hunger in his eyes and excitement is when his doing his podcast and hosting
And that's a problem. All the best players and players that were about their craft didn't turn to media until after they retired or their last year in the nfl 🤷♂️. This new generation doesn't care about the craft. The biggest problem with Miller specifically isn't the contract...it's the age. I think we have developmental talent in Hunt and I don't want to have another "Kevin byard" moment on our team. Last season we *needed help* badly in the secondary and we picked up byard..older guy who was having a good season in a specific scheme..I see the EXACT same thing happening IF we try for Von. I love Von Miller-loved watching him play growing up as well. I just don't think he's a good match for the Birds...especially if we want to get younger on defense.
