  • October 2023 we signed the contract to buy 158 amazing acres of land. This land is only 6 miles from Snow Shoe Ski Resort. Join us on this adventure as we start to develop the land and make the longest runway in the area.

      Thank you. I am really excited to get started on building the runway. It's going to be a big project. Thankfully, I now own a Bulldozer. That will be talked about in an upcoming video.

      yeah that should help you out! Heading to the mountain next weekend for some good snow ! Your land reminds me of Snowshoe's pollinator garden.@@RetiredDreamLife

      Can you provide me with a link to this "Snowshoe pollinator garden"? I tried looking it up and could not find it.

      You, my friend, are so correct. I plan to hire the guy who sold me the dozer and have him teach me how to run it. But, that will come after I make many repairs to the dozer.

      That would be great. Once we get the runway all smoothed out, I want lots of pilots to fly in. I love company and hanging out with like-minded people who love avaition as much as I do, always makes for great conversation. I should be getting started on the runway this spring. There may be a MAJOR announcement coming up in about two months. I can't talk about it just yet incase the deal falls though.

    Fond memories of Snowshoe back in the late 1970's. I currently have a ranch in New Mexico. We have power lines but are getting enough to run well pumps and all we need from solar panels now. I am also having to repair a 2 mile driveway for my RV. Enjoy the adventure! My kids lose their minds with no internet there. Barely any phone service. I might set up some RV spaces for those who don't mind being on a working ranch.

      Nice, I have been thinking about solar as well because my neighbor is refusing to allow a utility right of way along his property line. There will be more about this issue in a future video. It's kind of bad news, but there may be a silver lining behind it. Be sure to subscribe if you haven't already, so you will get to see what happens with this issue. I could only imagine your kids with no internet. Hahaha. I will be honest, it would be hard for me as well. I use the internet for a lot of stuff. This is why we got Starlink. It works great. It's a bit pricey. But it is simple and just works. When we were looking for land, that was the plan to put in about 10 RV spots for some extra income. But this property, we can't do that because the right of way is way to steep for trucks with trailers to come up. This is why we switched our idea to Air BNB cabins to rent. In a future video, I will talk about an opportunity that has come my way, and if it happens, then I may still be able to put a small campground here. Thanks for watching the video.

    You will be shocked by the cost of utilities and making your drive accessible. ‘Right of way’ means something different then how I think it is being used here, I believe. ‘Driveway, access, or road’ will work. Building a proper landing surface is very costly. Sounds like a commercial venture with big capital behind it.

      @user-tv5dt3nm9y I wish I had "Big Capital" backing me. Nope, it's just me and my wife. If you watch my video titled "Why no recent video?" you will see that because funds are already getting low, I have gone back to work. When I decided to retire at the age of 59 (five years ago), this was before Covid. Over the past four years inflation (reads government) has caused the price of a hanger foundation (concrete) to triple. The cost of the steal shop has tripled. The cost of aircraft has tripled! Basically, everything has tripped. So, I now have to come up with triple the money to have what I wanted. As for the Utilities and the Right of Way, they are very expensive. The right of way, I have been quoted $50K. The power is either around $10K or $81K depending if I can get it from my neighbor's poll or if I have to bring it up through the right of way. As for the term "Right of Way" that is what it is called on my deed. It crosses my neighbors land and it is the responsibility of both him and myself to maintain this right of way. With that said, there may be something in the future that will allow me to not have to use that Right of Way. We shall see and if it happens, for sure, I will talk about it in a future video. Keep watching to find out.

    Are you a pilot?

      @RetiredDreamLife  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, I have been a pilot for 42 years. I am presently working as an Airline Pilot. I had retired in Nov of 2022. Then in Nov of 2023 I took a two year contract with an airline. I talk about this in my video titled "Why no recent video?" Check it out: th-cam.com/video/mIIkbp51weI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=5c5SYNeNX30Qwug-
