@@nemhamisember One of the reasons Din Djarin is easy in my top 5 characters in Star Wars now. I absolutely love how he's written and acted. It's almost looking at art because we the audience are being shown his reactions without seeing his face. The fact we have been through 2 seasons (and this episode) and not even ONCE have we ever not been able to tell what Din is thinking is seriously masterful

you're probably expecting the bounty hunter phase of Boba Fett, which is not the point of the Boba Fett show, which shows his rise to power after retiring from being a bounty hunter.

They are very strict in their ways, though they were described by former members of deathwatch, who themselves were referred to in not so complementary terms by the former duchess of mandalore, as zealots who broke away from mandalorian society.
They are stuck in there ways since The Crusaders.
Re: the big guy - he’s the dude Mando gets into fisticuffs with in the third episode of Mandalorian S1. And later he comes to save mando with the entire covert.
The most notable scene that you might remember is when mando is flying away on his ship, a couple of flying mandalorians see him off and he says “I’ve got to get one of those (jetpacks)”

Fun fact: The younger X-Wing pilot? The actor for that particular character? He was actually the stand-in actor for Luke Skywalker in the Season 2 finale of The Mandalorian. ;)
I was half-expecting Burt Young (Paulie from the Rocky movies) to appear in the meat locker scene.
In rebels season 3, they talk more about the darksaber. They explained why the weight can fluctuate.
I love how Mando is more ruthless than Boba
to be fair, we never got to see how ruthless Boba was when he was a Bounty Hunter, besides the old star wars movie. The Boba we see in The Mandalorian and Boba Fett is an older, much wiser Boba Fett. And understandably he doesn't have the strength that he used to have when he was younger.

The "Big Mando" who fought our beloved Mando for the dark saber, is the character, Paz Vizsla (voiced by Jon Favreau, himself) from the previous Mandalorian seasons...
If anyone is wondering the droid we see at 12:02 is the same droid ( it could be a different model ) we see in the Star Wars game Jedi fallen order where the droid is called BD-1

Boba Fett: "Hey remember me?"
This series is now the next Mandalorian season guest starring Boba Fett.
I was absolutely ecstatic and definitely freaking out with seeing Din Djarin and the legendary Darksaber again in this episode. Also, seeing him fix, modify, and pilot a N-1 starfighter was absolutely incredible, especially when he said "wizard" after the test flight. I like to thank the lovely Bryce Dallas Howard for directing yet another Star Wars masterpiece.
I can't be the only one excited to see the return of BD-1, if that is in fact BD-1 from Jedi Fallen Order. Disney are actually connecting video game cannon with the film/series universe. This is dope!!
Yess same, im big fan of that game, im shooked when i see BD in this as live action and says "where is Cal Kestis??" 😂, But i think that is BD not BD-1.

@@Rummyson I think confirming that BD droids exist pretty much solidifies that CK is out there somewhere. He'd be a couple years older during this time but it'd be so cool to get him in something. If he's in Kenobi I'm gonna shit.
She knows! That is why she sent him to the mines. She knew that Din will probably be the mandalorian of Prophecy. That will emerge from within Mandalore to bring about a new age.
Paz Vizla (the "big dude") was the mandalorian who scoffed Din Djarin then helped rescue him in "Mandalorian S1" (played by Jon Favreau.) He is a descendant of Tarre Vizla, the Jedi-Mandalorian who created the Darksaber. It makes sense for him to challenge for it.
Din Djarin AND the Armorer are back?!?! TOO MUCH AWESOMENESS!!!! I missed them both so damn much.
I loved how she managed to tell most of the story of the Darksaber for people that didn’t watch Rebels. It is still surprising that even though he still has a strong attachment to the Children Of The Watch that he didn’t stay with or go back to Bo Katan, especially after he removed his helmet. And as much as I will always miss the Razor Crest this supped up N1 Naboo Starfighter is DEFINITELY a worthy replacement.
Hey Lucasfilm, give Bryce Dallas Howard her own Star Wars movie to direct! The super cool nod to Jurassic Park when Peli Motto is attacked by the womprat just made me grin ear to ear.👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

The small Droid that gets attacked by the womp rat and then helps Mando is a BD series explorer Droid which is the same Droid as in Jedi Fallen Order (and the cutest Droid in Star Wars, hands down). Seeing one in live action was so cool!
Also the big Mando from House Viszla is Jon Favreau (at least voiced) and was in two episodes of s1, they fought when he brought back the beskar in Ep1 and brought the other Mando's to rescue them from the bounty hunters in Navarro. The one that rocketed up by the Razorcrest at the end.
The Phantom Menace: "Now THIS is podracing!" -Anakin Skywalker as he escapes while single handedly taking down a Trade Federation ship.
A New Hope: "Just like Beggar's Canyon back home." -Luke Skywalker during the Death Star trench run
Book of Boba Fett: "Wizard." -Mando after piloting his custom classic.
Watch Clone Wars if you want to see more Dark Sabre and Mandalorian culture.
There are a couple of story arcs that are 2 to 3 episodes long you’ll like.

Honestly this should have been a Mandalorian Special rather than taking up 1 1/2 episodes of a 7 episode series about someone else.
Thoughts: Although I would have liked to see Boba, I understand the focus on Din. They felt they needed to bring us up to date on Mando so we know why he is willing, able, and free to help out. (Also, to be honest, they dropped the 1st teaser/trailer for season 3. I expected a “Coming, December 2022” at the end.)
The reasons for melting down the spear could be: 1, force Din to have to master the Darksaber. 2, Keep Din from having TOO many overpowered toys like the pulse rifle. (D&D DM rule 1; if character becomes too OP, either retire them to NPC status or make them loose some of their toys).
“Living Waters under mines of Mandalore” finding and freeing the waters will be what allows the planet to recover. (And perhaps free the waters of Tatooene too??!?!)

The exhaustion in pitching the credits from the former employer to the workers is accentuated by his heaving and his exasperated pause, really well done physical and voice acting ( not sure if they voice over, but I doubt it, since it's so crisp in audio).
EDIT: Why is light ... so heavy? I need a more ... scientific explanation, though I know SW isn't exactly accurate or bountiful with a lot of its science explanations.

Din Djarin has always been the real star of the story. The series has been promoted as “The Mandalorian” season 2.5.
Some recent novels include “Interlude” chapters, which describe concurrent events elsewhere in the galaxy. Look at “Ahsoka” and the “Empire’s End” series. We meet Cobb Vance through interludes.
The BoBF is an extended interlude for “The Mandalorian”, and this episode was merely an interlude within the extended interlude.

Great episode!! But did notice one mistake at 37.20 it shows the blaster cannons at the front of the N1 star fighter then then at 37.29 they are missing, then you see Mando fitting them on at 37.35.

After watching these reactions, and reflecting more on this episode…it is now telling us more clearly that Boba is building his team for a fight with the Pikes. It will be interesting to see who else he brings on his team.
The first 4 episodes/chapters of his book is outlining how being in the pit changed Boba and what he is now all about. I had expected this episode to be about how Boba got his suit back. But to have Mando first off the bat was a nice surprise. I can see this whole series being binged in a new light.
Also, Temuera had mentioned in press tour interview something about how fun it was to work with ewoks and it was dismissed as him mistaking them for jawas…what if he was indeed talking about the ewoks?? How crazy would that be for the final two episodes! We shall see…for this is the way 🤨
Even though this was technically a filler episode it’s the best filler I’ve ever seen. But I look forward to seeing what happens with Boba and his assembled tribe he has.
Bryce Dallas Howard has directed my favorite (and probably the best) episodes in The Mandalorian and now this one. Shit, let her direct all of them!!

I wonder what collectors are thinking of their Razorcrests now? Some may be looking for their old Naboo starfighters now and customizing it.
What I think is, what the Armorer says about Jedi needing to forgo all attachment, we've seen time and again that if Jedi forgo _all_ attachments, they lose sight of what's happening in the present 🤔😔. Nothing is ever _truly_ absolute, and the same could possibly be true for the Way of the Mandalore 🤔, and Din Djarin will most likely find it 🤔😉👍🤞🙏.
Honestly I expected the Armorer to straight up attack Mando for giving up the creed and removing his helmet. Glad to see it was just expulsion.

It's genuinely insane how the Sequels Ended up worse than the shows, I haven't felt the excitement from Mando Flying the Naboo fighter since Watching The opening scene of Revenge of the sith
Is it insane? J.J. Abrams was more interested in making J.J. Abrams stories than a Star Wars story. Rian Johnson isn’t nicknamed “Ruin” for no reason. He couldn’t be bothered to try to tell a cohesive story. He was more interested in making it Rian Johnson’s Star Wars. The tv directors and writers care about telling their Star Wars stories while respecting everything that came before it.
I screamed when BD-1 showed up on screen. So happy I played Jedi Fallen Order just for that moment.
That little droid who helped Mando with the flashlight and put that last piece on his new ride is from the video game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order ….the droid’s name is BD-1

It's also nice that they show how dangerous a lightsaber can actually be for someone who isn't used to wielding one.

I don't know... Some soldiers like to clean their weapons, disassembling and assembling them back, because it calms them down. Maybe it's meditative for a warrior like Mando to put them back :)

p.s. Seeing BD-1 was such a good surprise
I have a feeling. When he goes and sees Grogu, I feel like that scene won't be rushed when it happens because its special. That scene will use time with the boba fett storyline. What If season 3 of The Mandalorian, that's a special flashback to when he see grogu? Similar to the flashbacks we had with Boba and the sand people.

The thing alot of ppl don't realize is that Mando won the Dark Saber in combat, he's the rightful ruler of Mandalore. Whatever he decides should be "The Way" is what it will be, i think this is what will end up happening on Mando season 3.
I really hope he gets another ship that he can dock the N1 into that'll be more suited for bounty hunting if he's going back to that. Regardless of what happens I cannot wait for the Lego set of this ship to come out. My predictions for Minifigures are of course Mando, Peli Motto, a couple of Jawas, R5, 3 pit droids, and the BD droid.
It is amazing that the entire spear was reduced to that little package. Where is the rest of it?
The simplest explanation is that the Armorer must have kept some of the beskar for some reason.

I think Mando might need a Jedi's perspective on how to wield the dark saber.. Since sabers are traditionally wielded by the Jedis and their understanding of the Force may give him a better insight into how to weild it. It's not just brute force. Since the Mandalorian who first wielded it was both Jedi and Mandalorian.

It's doubtful Bryce Dallas Howard had to give Jon Favreau many "notes" on exactly how he needed to convey his desire to take or "covet" the Darksaber, upon seeing it.
He's a pretty well established actor/writer/director/showrunner in his own right.

Edit; although I agree, she's objectively doing a much better job with Star Wars, so far, than her dad. (Even though he was essentially playing "clean-up" on Solo; A Star Wars Story, from the beginning, rather than just straight writing and directing it himself, as he normally would.)

Mando's New Starfighter is the same kind as Anakin used to destroy the Command ship when they were fighting the Trade Federation, the same kind that Qui Gon jinn told him to stay in.... Remember!!!
