Actually the scene where Lil Nas X & the guy dressed up as cowboys is homage to the movie "Brokeback Mountain" and The story starts in the beginning he fall out of the sky (means he not from earth) after he injured his knee then he falling in love with a member on the football team in college. later on throughout the years they are going on trips together it represents the Movie "Brokeback Mountain". After becoming a famous football player he goes back to his lover with flowers and he finds that his boyfriend is married with a child (means he on the DL) and you can see all his trophies in the back as he's basically drunk he passes out and has a dream he's walking down the hall altar and then he ends up marrying his music.

He said a lot of stuff in this album is stuff hes gone through. And the guy with the white Hoodie made a great point. We all go through it. Straight, gay,whatever. We all have experienced heartache, relationship problems. Stuff like that. in the black community gay men are still frowned upon so a lot of gay men are downlow. They'll have girlfriends and kids just to make it look like they're straight when they're really not. And that happens to a lot of gay men who are comfortable with their sexuality. They meet men, fall in love and then find out that that other person is still in the closet. He wants to make it more normal for gay people to finally see themselves represented. So I have a question. When the men were kissing and all 4 of you were freaking out imagine a man and a woman. If they were kissing like that it would have been absolutely normal right? But the minute 2 men do it people freak out. You didn't see them in a bed, no up and down movement, no penetration. It was kissing. And caressing. He wasn't showing them kissing to make people freak out. Hes telling a story. He wanted this dude. They were attracted to each other. They had sex. He went to the house found out the guy was on the DL. And then he wound up marrying his music because his music has never let him down. And this is stuff that's happened to him in his real life. The entire album is. I thought it was cute that you were fast forwarding through the camping scene and ready to get past the kissing scene but the minute you saw the other guy in the family pictures the gayness wasn't even an issue. It was about being cheated on and relationship problems. See? Normal stuff! That's all he's trying to do. Make it normal 😘

The whole pregnancy thing was really just a creative way to release his album. He was trolling, but used it positively. It was for charity. He used that to put out a baby registry and attached every song on his album to a different charity and raised a ton of money for different charity’s. He also had real pregnant women send him baby bump pics and cash slapped them money. The whole thing shouldn’t even be a big deal lol not the first time it’s been done. The Cosby show had a whole episode where all the men were pregnant and gave birth to something they loved.

Y’all got the gist of it … the song is basically about Lil Nas just wants someone to love him and only him .. the guy he’s having sex with is DL … DL guys are guys who identify themselves as “straight” but they have girlfriends, wives, children and etc … basically he fell in love with this DL guy who he thought was out (gay) but he wasn’t and when he went to his house he found out he has a whole family. That’s why the song is called “That’s What I Want” because he “Wants” was somebody to love him and only him. Every gay person has experienced this AT LEAST ONCE in their life time.

@Thee Hood Report I never said they didn’t … I made my assumption that the guy was DL (Down Low) and explained what a DL person is. Bisexual is someone WHO IS OPEN to liking men and women. Every time when they was in the video together (having sex in the empty locker room & going camping by themselves) gave me indication that the person wasn’t open about it. They was never around friends, family or anyone… which led me to believe the person was DL. Everyone has there own interpretations but this is mine.

You guys have a fan base that has LGBT people I am one of them so it's nice to hear people who don't react negatively and just enjoy the music while appreciating the artistry.
Lil Nas a genius in his own way, the way he conveys his stories and messages though his music and the lyrics, the MV usually has a lot of symbolism that many miss and just dismiss him because he's openly gay and doesn't care what people think of him.
He makes good music all his stuff is artistic, very futuristic with a ton of symbolism, good music ; I got the message as I am a person whose always paid attention to not only what people are saying but what they are showing us, telling us and wanting us to figure out.
Your music should tell a story what you ant convey into words you put it into lyrics or whatever works for you.
He knows what he's doing will turn heads but at the end of the day it's about music and having a platform you can use to bring about topics that might be hard.
Mental health, sexuality he talks about being gay in the rap industry, being black and gay and how people will be.
Throughout the video you can see that he basically into falling in love with one of his teammates his teammate ends up being on the DL and has a whole family. Then you see that he's heartbroken he's getting drunk and he's driving he passes out has a dream he marries his music. A lot of people go through this where you think that you can trust a person but they don't like you for who you are or you found out that the person is in love with is not out to their to their loved ones or friends or that they're just highly multiple secrets and it hurts a lot especially being a gay or trans person.
It's not easy out here especially for black men I might not be a male or born one but I can understand how hard it is for you guys.
I am apart of the LGBT community and have fallen for straight people and even talked to someone who wasn't out and lied to I got hurt in the end.
I noticed at first glance he referenced brokeback mountain, which is a film about two guys who are basically on a DL they're both married and I think both of are Farmers. They fall in love have a relationship and yeah it's a rollercoaster it's a good film though it has actors

It's crazy how so many people can't even enjoy it or listen to Lil Nas x music because immediately they say oh he's talking about the devil or he needs Jesus but really God doesn't have to be brought into everything yeah call me when you want was wild but it wasn't necessarily about satanism.
Some people have a hard time letting go of homophobia with religion, I have Christian family members who actually are supportive of the LGBT community and some who aren't.
There are a ton of symbolism in it including the fact that he has Greek mythology in the MV his music videos tell a story. Each song has a story and hidden meaning or message.

They all play apart in what he talks about. Too many of us are told we will go to hell because it's a sin or choice when it isn't , we already felt bad about it or like we were never good enough to feel love because we get hurt.
He fell in love and messed around with another football teammate, we see he had a wife and baby but was on the DL and playing with Lil Nas heart, for a lot of people being with a DL man can be very dangerous because they can do things that are homophobic or they might hurt you or try to use you exploit you make fun of you you have gay bashing. And then you have those who are on the DL and if their partner finds out that there's with you that can end up very badly I've had this husband to so many people I have cousins who are dating people on the DL or messing with them and in the growth had found out and tried to fight them or kill them so.
I'm one of the LGBT people too (I'm bisexual and non-binary) and my family is homophobic
