Let me tell you about the Hymn of the Fayth... It was once a Zanarkand song, sung in defiance of Bevelle! Of course, the Yevon clergy of Bevelle forbade it. Then, as these things often go, those who disliked Yevon began to sing it. The Al Bhed, for instance. The Hymn of the Fayth became the symbol of defiance against Yevon. Yevon could do nothing but capitulate. They lifted the ban on the song, and spread a new story. They said the hymn was a song sung to soothe the souls of the dead... and so saying, they took the song and made it scripture. That's why today, the hymn is sung all over Spira. You could say that, though Zanarkand is gone from this world, it lives on in the song. Ah, but look at the time. I've rambled on again. I do love stories you see. Well I owe you my gratitude for hearing this old scholar out.
This music has been popping up in my head suddendly, during my entire life since I first heard it in FFX, when I was around 12 years old. I'm 30. I don't know what triggers this music in my head and also have no idea if I ever lived a year without this music playing in my head after I first listened to it when I was a boy.
@@GabrielLyrio369 its actually a holy song, sung by gregorian sisters and monks to give praise to god the father through jesus christ its absolutely an experience and expression of beauty in its purest form such is the form of jesus christ himself the most pure humam to ever walk the face of the earth god expressed in human form. hence holy being most pure, the father the son and the holy spirit. what a wonderful way to have nostalgia with this song and for it to pop up randomly whether your a believer or not! :)) glory to god himself in jesus name :)
Holy hell I thought I was the only one! I'm 33 and have the exact same unexplained random pop in your head feeling with this song! I always thought it special to me, but I can't explain why. Even after all these years
I want to play this game again.. but I also don't. Wish I could forget I played it, like many other games. I typically don't like stories. This was an exception though. It truly is a shame something can come to mean so much, yet it can just as easily vanish before your eyes.
when i was young i didn't have a memory card on my ps2. So everyday, and i mean EVERYDAY, i started the game from the beginning, but i ony had limited time to play, so generally i could only play until i arrive to besaid before i had to stop. I loved this song but i also knew when i hear it, the moment my mum will come and make me stop playing was close ahaha ! One day, my ps2 was in really bad shape, and i entered in the besaid temple. The song started playing, and you know there is a little black scene whenever we enter in a building. this black screen never ended, the ps2 was dead. BUT the song continued playing. Just the game was blocked in the black screen. I let the ps2 turn for almost 2 hours hoping it would work. but all i had was this hymn playing in loop and the black screen. 2 hours later, i had to turn off the ps2, in litteral TEARS, because i knew it was the last time i would hear this hymn, my mom was a single mom, we were poor and i knew she could not afford to buy me another ps. i was devastated. So for me, this song is a mixed feeling between hope and deception. helped me a lot through study sessions though :) thank you for the upload
I had this playing while trying to fix my stereo receiver. 20 minutes later I got it working and started to hear this beautiful chant on my new system, it was glorious.
This song never meant much to me when I first played the game, and even years later I never found it memorable or nostalgic in comparison to the rest of the OST. In the last few months I've found so much beauty in this that I'm surprised I never really noticed before. It is truly cleansing.
Final Fantasy X will forever be my first Final Fantasy game.. Unfortunately i haven't beaten it yet even though.. i remember getting this game back when I was a kid in the mid 2000s.. but now in the present day there's one thing missing getting the ultimate weapons and the last Aeons before i can defeat Braska's Final Aeon aka Jecht himself but there's also Yu Yevon as well which i need to get more stronger..
Truth be told, if it werent for X being such a bad ass FF, i would have never touched another. I was late to the series, but this was my first. an excellent introduction to the series id say. i hope....no, i desire with purity, that all who come here seek and find that dimension of the mind that was once triggered from this familiar tune once ago in our pasts...and relax into that place, once again, knowing that youll never play another fuc#*ng FF game like this again. thanks Koldatt for the memories in vibration
Narration: It was then, standing in that place, I began to realize how different this world was from my own. Priest: Ten years have passed since Lord Braska became high summoner. And finally we receive a statue for our temple. Tidus: What’s a high summoner? (Worshippers gasp) Tidus: I…I got too close to Sin’s, uh, toxin. Narration: It was funny hearing myself make the same excuse over and over. Funny, and a little sad. Priest: The summoners are practitioners of a sacred art, sworn to protect the people of Yevon. Only a chosen few become summoners, who call forth entities of great power: the aeons. The aeons hear our prayers and come down to us. They are the blessing of Yevon. Narration: So what he meant…was that we should respect some kinda great men or something like that… I figured.
You know, if Square Enix is so obsessed with this, why not just release their own video? Put an ad on the beginning before the video plays (do not put any in the middle as that would defeat the purpose) and make money off of it. These videos always end up doing really well.
I remember having a school trip to the St. Michaelis church in Hamburg so I listened to the hymn of faith on my MP3 player with headphones. Made the trip 3 times more interesting.
As one such as myself... I dont trust Summoners, nor those who follow Yevon... but I do respect they follow their faith as well as they do Ah, enough about myself, im just a old soldier from a time and place long forgotten to just a memory now (Also I've had this playing in my head for the longest time and could never remember its name so thank you very much)
@@Koldatt Well they have to take risks or the industry would stagnate. But square has been doing pretty good as of late imo with ff games. So I think it would be in safe hands.

The FFX nostalgia hits hard, it had such a beautiful soundtrack. Thank you man!

Fitting though. The song was created during the darkest of times to find your peace
This goddamn song gets stuck in my head all the time, thank you for the 1 hour loop. It’s exactly what I’ve been needing

Best Final Fantasy hand down all around. After X the franchise when down hill real quick.

These days i fire up the ps2 for nostalgia alone.

If i had told you the truth, would that really have stopped you?
Rather a remake of the X games or make x-3, than a remake of IX honestly.
Careful what you wish for I say. often times sequels are hit or miss. would be cool to play braska's pilgrimage though
