Hi Buddy, I’ve just watched your 2022 video on how to change a faulty oil solenoid sensor. Really good and informative. Congrats I would like to ask you for your expert advice. I recently had the subframe replaced on my Mercedes C class by Mercedes dealers. Could they have damaged my solenoid sensor doing the subframe replacement
Why thank you, interesting to get to the end of it. It was around 6 weeks since I had diagnosed it. Funny how sometimes the jobs we’d fret over can be easy once you do one . Cheers dude 🙏🙏😉
Best mechanic video I've seen on YT! Garage local to me wants £1100 all in for this job. It's beyond my skills and tools sadly... not sure how essential it is (Xentry describes the solenoid as a nonessential part), but probably going to get it done anyway. The fuel pump's main function is mechanical at least so think it doens't need to be done straight away... right???!!
Thank you very much higemoose 🙏🙏 There are 2 types of solenoids, default open or default closed. This type defaults closed which puts more pressure on the engine or oil pump, giving maximum oil pressure all the time. So in the immediate future it won’t harm the engine but should be done if & when possible 😉🙏🙏🙏
After an oil change Wednesday, my 2020 C300 diagnosed Thursday with this problem (might there be a connection with the oil change and this issue?). Not sure if valve is “open” or “closed”. Check engine light activated initially, but now the yellow indicator light has gone off. But since check engine light has gone off, digital mile range reader shows car is sucking down gas at an alarming rate, this despite digital fuel gauge (or needle) appearing to work as normal. I don’t have $3K US dollars to fix now, any suggestions?
Sorry, but I actually don’t know 🤷🏼♂️ But if you can locate them & I’m assuming that there are 3 due to it being ‘C’, disconnect them 1 by 1 until you can identify which is which from fault codes you created 🤞🤞
