- During this trip,we explored a quaint town called Loiza, which is heavily African influenced. Grammy nominated musical composer, Dr. William Cepeda spoke with us about how in Loiza, African and Taino traditions are preserved generationally through performing arts.

@@artfrancis7456 The Americas as a whole primarily consists of three main groups of people- Europeans, West Africans, and AmerIndians/Native Americans.
Of course the people throughout these continents look similar, the only areas that look different are those that still have a good number of their indigenous population, because that’s where the big genetic variation lied.
Primarily white people look like
Europeans. Primarily black people look like West Africans. It’s the indigenous peoples and the triracial/biracial people that have a different and unique look.

I love Afro Latinas and all of the Afro Latinos of the slave trade. They have such an rich spirit even though our people are mostly looked down on. Yah has still blessed and watched over us.

Loiza is known for it's African heritage. My hometown Canovanas is known for the Taino heritage. The thing is Canovanas was once designate as part of the Loiza district.

Delonda C that’s a great question. I’m not aware of any formal tours, but there are possibly people who you contact, that’ll know more information. Look on the trip advisor website, search on the Loiza, PR website and see what’s available there
