It’s a shame that there wasn’t some kind of 3.0 trade in offer! I just brought the 3.0 model for the iPhone 12pro Max and now feel abit short changed by not having the mag safe options.
@@MrOB099 Hi Daniel. Yes, I agree, would have been nice to be given that option... Have you considered returning for an exchange instead? I guess if the case is still within the 30 day period and brand new it might work, but I am not sure to be honest. Thanks for checking the video out. Wish you a great weekend! 👊
Mous has made quite a few of their own MagSafe accessories. I rock the Limitless 4.0 MagSafe case for my iPhone 13, and I purchased two of the Mous aramid fiber wireless chargers with charger stand for work and for home, absolute game changer. Bought my wife a Mous Clarity MagSafe for her iPhone 12 Pro Max as well as the car vent mount. She absolutely loves it. We’re a Mous family now.. there is no other product I trust to protect my products.
Not sure why TH-cam didn’t alert me about this comment! Sorry about that… Limitless 4.0 is definitely one of my top 3 cases ever, if not THE top one. I just got their Clarity case in Iridescent (did a review of it last week) and I love that too, perfect for the summer!
Hi! I’m about to go work on a freight ship so I’m looking for a tough case (there’s a whole lot of solid metal and high drops on a boat like that!) I was thinking about a leather case for the better grip and feel, but there is so little information on leather cases that I have almost no clue what to get. Would you recommend this case? If not, what is the toughest leather case you know of? I have the 12 pro max if that helps. Thank you!!
Their latest limitless 5.0 case is great, but only the back plate is leather. I love the Speckled leather one, with white dots on, that for me has the best grip out of all the Mous cases. Awesome protection too.
Hi Yuval 👋 I’ve never tried Otterbox to be honest. I do hear good things. Mous is a product I’ve used since iPhone X and before I did these videos. I just love their products and their customer service. I should try Otterbox really…
Hi there, for me it kinda developed a sheen but not like typical leather patina. Granted, I don’t think I use it as often but it’s one of my “regulars”
I have the Leather case on my 13 pro max , ive used mous cases for last two years , i paid £56 but i don’t honestly see value for money , to me its looking like there going for profit cutting corners with the look of it ? Love the fit and just Purchased the windscreen suction mount , works great although they don’t seem to aim it at car use ?
Hi Mark! Yes my initial thoughts on the interior lining wer similar to yours but I understand that they have to balance being thin/light with support for MagSafe. I believe one can still buy the 3.0 though, but no support for iPhone 13 as far as I know. for the 13, we have to go with the latest Limitless 4.0 which lost some of the previous features to have MagSafe. Personally, I think the case is tight enough that dust/debris doesn't go in in the first place so the back (so far) is well protected...
Hi man, I’m trying to decide which limitless 4.0 would be better to choose. I like the leather one but I don’t know how well will it age, do you see any scars on it so far since u started using it? Both wood cases look great but I think they will show marks sooner than the others, I don’t like the starry one so the thing is between aramid and leather. Any advice? Thanks for the great review 😁
Leather has been the best for me Mario, no fingerprint marks and no scratches so far. I am careful with my phone but the Aramid for me collects quite a bit more grease/fingerprint marks. It does clean up quite easily but the leather has been solid! Have a good one!
@@AlexGTech yes! I’m surprised there is no comparison review between the two…. I couldn’t find any! Direct comparison that is. The style is different but if the mous is a impact resistant case as they say it is, the otterbox is known greatly for that. Anyway thx for your videos love them keep it up!
Hi there, the outer shell is exactly the same on both 3.0 and 4.0. The interior lining on 3.0 is better as it has this lovely microfiber lining. The only trade-off is that you lose MagSafe on the 4.0 but to be honest, the 3.0 still charges through MagSafe on the desk. The only thing you're missing out on the 4.0 is if you have a MagSafe charger for the car for example. With the 3.0 only Mous accessories would work for car mounts. So durability wise, they are both the same, but with 3.0 the interior is nicer (and little bit heavier too)
Hi there, I’ve been using Mous hybrid glass for a few weeks, really easy to apply and has a nice feel to it, almost the same as the iPhone glass. Before this I was using the Impact 3D from RhinoShield, also very good but a little harder to apply. It did have a nice edge (less sharp than other protectors when you’re swiping down or from the sides) only noticeable when I didn’t have a case on though. With the case on, it’s similar to Mous, with a slight difference in that is tempered glass. I reviewed a couple of options on the channel if you’re interested 👊🏽
@@Yaahboi52 My pleasure! For most days when I am busy with lots of driving, walking outside, etc. the leather case is the best all rounder for me. I've had the Aramid fibre from Mous since iPhone X so that's nice too. I found the leather a little grippier and less prone to fingerprint marks though. If I am in the office or at home most days, I also tend to go for the Pitaka ultra light option, really nice feel to it and takes the iPhone back to its original design a bit. I also reviewed that here on the channel if you want to have a look. I think is good to have a protective option as well as a more stylish option depending on what I am doing. Hope this helps 👊
@@Yaahboi52 wow thank you so much! That's awesome 👊 Great choice, it's really lush! And welcome to the channel, looking forward to putting out more useful stuff, and hope that you will enjoy it. Have a good one!
absolutely! Have dropped my 11 Pro Max, 12 Pro Max and whilst not my 13 Pro Max yet, I can see it has the same levels of protection. I just did a new video including this and other options too, so check it out: th-cam.com/video/kcRimjL8rZc/w-d-xo.html
Thank you! I'd say its exactly the same, but with a bit more grip at the back. The aramid fibre is a bit less grippy. But the side protection and front bumpers are the same. Hope this helps 👊
Hi Chris, I've used both and the 12 Pro Max was with that 4.0 case for most of the time. I had zero scratches or micro scratches after several months so I think they are legit. It's very tight so dust/debris don't get in easily. I will say though that I am probably not like most people and remove the case pretty much every other day (mostly so I can do these videos) but when the videos are done the Mous is the one I go to...
I know right! I was looking for it myself, so decided to make a video since I couldn't find anything. Thanks for watching and hope you enjoy it! Are you considering one these yourself?
Raised lip actually offers less protection. The loss of the storage on the inside is due to them thinning the back of the case overall, which meant less protection for the camera lenses - that lip is not as tall as the old 3.0 edge due to the thinning of the back
Hi there, to be honest I hadn’t noticed that but it makes sense. I know that the brand had to make some difficult design decisions as customers were asking for MagSafe accessories support. And to have that, you can’t really have a thicker lining as a trade off. Luckily I think they did the right thing in keeping the 3.0 on sale so people can choose whether they want MagSafe or more internal protection. Thanks for visiting the channel! I am due to review some more Mous accessories soon if you are interested 👊🏼
nice and detail review . for the mag safe circle logo on the case does it leave any imprint on the back of the phone itself ? also how is the back of your phone and scratches ? since there is no inner micro fiber lining.
So far so good. I don't use the Magsafe too much (maybe once a week...) but there were no rings on the 12 Pro Max. Same goes for my S21 Ultra which I charge wirelessly with the same leather case on. No marks there either. And no scratches as the case is very tightly fitting, there is no dust or debris that can get in there so the back is always nice and protected.
@alex does the 4.0 limitless Cass stick magnetically to common metal objects? For instance a refrigerator or a metal car door? Hoping the magnets are stronger than on the 3.0 and can adhere to common metal objects for viewing easily.
Hi Jonathan, that would be very useful but sadly it doesn't. The 4.0 will only connect well to MagSafe accessories. It actually does feel stronger than 3.0 magnets, but you're going to need another MagSafe accessory to be able to attach it to objects. Hope this helps! Have a good one 👊
Alex this is a great review I think the best one on you tube. I have look at other reviews on different cases. Your video Won me over on what case to get for my IPhone 13 Pro Max. Keep up the great work you do. People watch this video and you will be hook on a mous case.
Hi there, on this leather version I found a lot grippier than the Aramid fibre version. The leather is very nice to the touch. Though I only ever tried the 3.0 version of the aramid fibre. One other viewer has commented here that they found the 4.0 version of the Aramid fibre is actually grippier than before but I haven’t used that one yet. Hope this helps 👊🏽
@@AlexGTech Thanks. Nice review. I ordered the Black Leather for my 12 Pro Max a few minutes ago. I've been a customer of theirs for a while now. Be well, and thank you for the quick response.
@@billiamnotbob great choice! Yes, they are one of my favourite brands to work with, and I don’t even get their stuff for free 😂 their customer service is top notch!
From a grip perspective yes. But now the Limitless 5.0 has a better grip too so definitely take a look at that. I reviewed it here: th-cam.com/video/56OfcumvHhs/w-d-xo.html
I see people complaining about the soft back but do u think it’s better for the phones overall heat dispenser? Having a thinner case should theoretically be better for the phones battery life compared to a softer thicker case.
Hi there I haven’t noticed any to be honest but I’d say I wasn’t really extensively using a MagSafe accessory to charge it, most nights it goes onto my bedside table with a cable charger. And when I did use the MagSafe charger it was only for a top up but I haven’t noticed any rings on either leather or Aramid fiber that I used 👊🏼
4.0 works well with MagSafe and all MagSafe accessories (wallets, car mounts, etc). 3.0 is 15 grams heavier but has a nice interior lining that (in my opinion) protects the back of the phone really well
I just ordered the mous limitless 3.0 and the hybrid glass once it arrives I'm getting the iPhone 12 currently have the galaxy s9 and never had an iPhone still kind scared of dropping my future iPhone but I'll probably be fine.
Hi there, yes that's a good move! I have a screen protector as well which I never used before but after I heard how scratchy the apple 'ceramic shield' is I decided to get one. The hybrid glass is a great option too! Thanks for watching and good luck with your new phone 🙏🏽
I had the s9+ and just upgraded to the 12 pro max and I love it. I’ve been on android forever this is my first iPhone and so far so good. Takes awhile to transfer your data over, but other than that it works fantastic. No complaints here yet
My iPhone 12 fell from kong ride in six flags from 150 feet high. This mous case saved it. Not a scratch to my phone. I was surprised. I thought it did not survive but when the service found the phone it will all intact nothing broke. Expect the case got some scratches but non happen to my phone. No glass brake and internal damage. I love it
Hi Tyler, it’s actually been pretty good with keeping dust away. I have a screen protector and I can see after a few days a little bit of dust between the protector edge and the case but nothing crazy, quite easy to clean. Nothing getting inside the phone as far as I can tell. 👊🏽
@@AlexGTech thank you for the reply, and I’ve been in need of a case that isn’t a dust collector because with these masks I’m not able to just blow it away. But I will definitely be purchasing this case. 😎
Hi, could you please advise are the sides grippy enough when you pick up the phone. I own the Apple clear case which I find the sides can be slippy and I tend to slip when picking up the phone. I love the leather back finish though which will not be so sticky compare with a rubber or silicone backing. Thanks
Hi William! The sides are grippy enough to give you a decent amount of comfort without being too grippy that would be a nightmare getting in/out of pockets. The leather back is not as grippy as I thought it would be, and you are right it's not as sticky as the silicone cases out there. But it is much better than the Aramid fiber finish I had previously. Hope this helps 👊 Have a great weekend!
Would you say the magsafe magnets in this case are strong enough for use as a car mount? This is the major selling point for me. It did seem the magsafe adapter was connecting much stronger than usual. Thank you. I drive semi trucks for a living so a good magnetic mount is necessary for me
Hi there! Yes, 100% safe for any MagSafe car mount now, very strong! The previous version (3.0) could be charged through MagSafe but very weak connection.
@@AlexGTech I appreciate the fast reply and informative video. Gonna grab myself a limitless 4.0 in walnut. They don’t have the bamboo version available for the pro max on Amazon. (Oh well) subscribed
It is indeed, not much difference which is why for the 4.0 I decided to go for the leather back. I now have the same on my S21 ultra with leather and feels much grippier than the Aramid fibre version for me.
Hi Alex. Now, that you have had the limitless 4.0 for well over a month and longer than any other youtuber , what do you think of the internal lining? It seemed like you were a little skeptical about it in the review. 1) How is it holding up? 2)How does the back of the phone look? 3)Is it causing any permanent imprints of the ring or other patterns from dust + case pressing against the phone? Some have complained about this with other MagSafe cases, like nomad. In fact, someone posted a pic of their nomad with a ring imprint on macrumors. Thanks.
Hi there, I've been using the leather 4.0 now more than any other case for over a month. Especially when I am out and about. I am really impressed with its durability. not that I thrown the phone around but it goes in my jeans pocket and on the car dashboard quite a bit. Zero fingeprint marks and no scratches/scuffs at all. The phone looks pristine. The most I've had it on the phone without taking it out so far is a week and when I did took it out, there were very minimal dust, mostly around the edges at the top, between the screen protector and the edge of the case. Nothing on the back! So the back of the phone is perfectly intact. As I say, I don't really throw the phone around inside bags for example where it might get more debris or dust but I do go out every day on long dog walks and driving kids to scholl, etc. just normal daily stuff. My Aramid fibre version which I also love did get more marks and hairline scratches after a few weeks that I don't see on the leather at all. I used the Magsafe charger on a daily basis though admittedly I've tested a Nomad case in the last few days so it hasn't been on the phone every single day, but certainly 90% of the time as its definitely still my favourite case. I should be sponsored really 😂 I am just a very satisfied customer I guess 😊
@@AlexGTech Awesome. Thanks for the 1 month update! I was curious about the potential possibility of the internal lining causing imprints to the back of the phone. It must have to do with dust accumulating over time. However, it appears dust does not get in that area with the L 4.0 based on your assessment. My old pixel 2xl was damaged and received imprints from a tech21 evo check case. You could clearly see imprinted checks on the back of the phone. That's good to hear. Mobile Reviews Eh mentioned the 2nd iteration had a similar lining, but I was concerned about the magsafe logo. This is one of the reasons I have been holding off on purchasing the L 4.0. I have seen some pics on Macrumors of dust getting into the camera module + top bumper internal lining of the L 4.0. However, the rest of the case looks good. I may check this out, though the relief cuts(slits) that have been appearing on some of the other top 12 pro cases(Caseify, pitaka, Dbrand, ect) give me some pause. Thanks again.
@@AlexGTech Hey Alex. I’m researching cases and I read comments here and there describing some of these Mous 4.0 cases as being quite slippery. I was wondering - as you had the leather version - how slippery or grippy have you found it to be? I was hopeful that maybe the leather on the back would add some more grip. I’ve seen some people describe these cases as being as slippery as a bar of soap so I’m a bit concerned. I’ve given your video a like. Thanks.
@AlexGTech do you think I could use a protective coating of some sort to keep from scratching the aramid fiber?😅 I want to keep it looking as nice a possible lol
I'm disabled in a wheelchair.... All I want to know is I've just got myself a iPhone 12 Pro Max if I glue Velcro to the back of the Limitless 4.0 will it still bounce if I drop it? I very rarely drop it as the Velcro stick it to my custom phone mount that I make
Hi there, sorry about the delayed response! Honestly, you can't go wrong with these bad boys! I don't have the confidence to drop a grands' worth of gear with many other brands 😊 This has saved my bacon multiple times in previous models, really good quality stuff. The velcro will only help I think. In the case it lands on its back it may reduce the impact even further.
HI Alex, how does the leather backed case compare to the aramid fibre in terms of durability and scratching from keys and coins in the pocket? Would you say the leather case sounds less hollow as leather will absorb noise better than the aramid? I'm thinking of the Mous for a Galaxy S21 FE. My other option i am considering is the UAG Plasma Ice. Priority is protection and minimal bulkiness. Your suggestion is welcome. Thanks
Hi there! I’ve used both (and still do) my S21 Ultra has been with the leather case for about a year now and both case and phone still look pristine! The aramid is awesome but will be more prone to scratches from keys and stuff. Both excellent protection but the leather offers a bit more grip to be honest. Hope this helps 🙏🏼
I prefer the leather one Ryan! For me it's a bit more elegant, really suits the iPhone. I tried the Aramid Fiber too which was my favourite for years but I gotta say, there's something about the leather that I really like, especially added grip. Hope this helps! Have a great week ahead!
Hi there! I’ve heard good things about otter box cases but I haven’t tried them myself. What I will say is that I’ve had Mous way before I decided to make TH-cam videos. I had one problem with them in the last few years (there was a small gap in the camera module) and their customer service were able to replace the case, no questions asked. I’m biased for sure, but as a customer this is the one I’d go to for protection
Thank you for wonderful video. I have to place an order in Korea, so I'll just ask you one. Can you tell the lowest part on the side of the case is higher than the iPhone screen? sorry for inconveniencing to you.
Hi there, no problem at all! Yes the corners are raised higher than the sides like previous models but the lowest part is still higher than the screen so no issues when you put the phone down. Which material are you going for? Hope this helps. Have a great day.
One question, since you've changed cases so many times mostly due to all these reviews, under bright lights could you possibly check if your stainless steel band has micro scratches? (those very micro ones visible only under bright direct light). Thanks
hi Mark, not sure how I missed this comment - sorry! Surprisingly I haveno micro scratches at all. I do see them around the lightning port where the charger goes 😞 but nothing around the sides. I am thinking of adding dbrand skin to it to avoid it though.
@@AlexGTech I don't think it gets micro scratches, except for the silver one that is. I inspected my gold 12 pro max for 2 hours under bright direct light for over 2 hours and could not find even a hairline mark on the frame. If the cases you use are well built with soft material on the sides and cleaning the phone with a microfiber cloth once every two weeks, it won't get a mark. I only charge via magsafe, though. I think the frame coating is much stronger than the 11 series of last year
I have the graphite 12 pro max and the case does scratch the steel band unfortunately. Also it doesn’t feel so premium as I expected… it’s not worth it.
Thanks for the review! Lots of details, have no more question marks about the 4.0 :) Been waiting for someone to cover the 4.0, I myself have the 3.0 but am thinking about getting another 4.0 for compatibility with other Magsafe Accesories.
Glad I could help! Yes, that is kind of why I made the video, as a Mous customer myself I've been waiting and researching but couldn't find anything! This time it is perfect fr MagSafe, very strong connection just like any Apple case really! Are you considering the leather one or other materials? Have a great week!
Nice review. Having used this case for a while now and the constant removal and inserting of the phone to the mous case, did the back or the stainless steel sides get micro scratches? The interior bumper lining is similar to Casetify? I also love that wallpaper, share please? Thanks and more power
Hi Mark, thank you! No micro scratches at all, it is still quite tightly fit into the phone so maybe that helps with keeping dust and debris out. I get a bit of lint in between the screen protector and the case but easily removed with a dust blower I have for camera lenses or simply removing the case and wiping the phone. The interior bumper thing is probably more similar to Nomad cases, I have tried Casetify but don’t remember their bumpers. Mous ‘Aeroshock’ bumper is basically like rubber, a bit soft when you push it down on it. And re: the wallpaper no problem, if you have a Twitter account follow me and I will DM you it. Otherwise ping me an email via the ‘about’ tab on TH-cam. Have a good one 👊🏽
@@AlexGTech I subscribed. Your reviews are very through and well presented. Thank you very much. Now that Casetify has magsafe I'm torn. All the options have cons....i still can't decide.. Casetify - for correct bottom speaker cut outs. With matte black, it might never get the magsafe ring imprint on the back but a bit more expensive Nomad - speaker cut outs are still symetrical, magsafe imprint on the back eventually, leather gets scratched easily, due to pandemic - cleaning the leather can be more challenging Apple leather - similar to nomad, except for correct bottom cut out. However, the exposed stainless band around the screen might might get scratched eventually? Apple silicone - I have the plum color and it attracts too much marks from my hands which makes it look dirty always plus a lint magnet and the exposed metal band similar to the apple leather Dbrand grip - magnets are too weak even on the revised model for the 12 pro max.
@@Muzzymart_ definitely! I’m due to do an iPad Pro review soon which I hope to feature Mous and I will probably do a combined video with the iPhone case, should be really cool!
How do these compare to the Otterbox models? I currently use the Otterbox Symmetry + but these look so nice with the wooden finish, but is the level of protection the same? I see the Mous lip is only raised on the corners of the screen and not all the way around, is this a potential issue and is there more chance of scratching?
Hi Iker, that is my next brand to try! When it comes to the protection they do go all around it, it is just lower on the sides which helps with the swiping gestures. There's still plenty of protection around it. Having said that I have a screen protector as I am not trusting Apple's Ceramic Shield! 😂 I haven't tried Otterbox yet but the Pitaka Pro 2 which I am reviewing (featured here: 9:00) is the only case that comes close to Mous for me. But it is bulkier!
@@eikerir Good move, let me know what you think! If you are on Twitter, I'd love to hear more about that comparison! Here is my twitter: twitter.com/AlexGTech1
@@AlexGTech just received my Mous Limitless 4.0 with the walnut finish and unfortunately I’ll keep using the Otterbox. Quick comments: - The Mous looks beautiful but it’s A LOT more slippery than the Otterbox. The side offers almost no grip compared to the Symmetry+ and this is by far the deal breaker for me. I could see it slipping from my hand often. - The Otterbox has a way tighter fit on the phone which in the end just make the whole thing feel more solid. - The magnets on the Mous feel a bit stronger then the Otterbox, might be because it’s a bit slimmer overall. - While it feels quite solid, I think the Otterbox offers more protection. This plus the better grip trump the beautiful wood finish in the end. Cheers
@@eikerir Hi Iker, thanks so much that is a great detailed comparison there! Now I have to try that case! Sounds really good. Thanks again for this info, really useful!
@@TechManiac11 they commented on my previous videos 😂 I DM'd them and they gave me a customer support address to email. They were responsive but not really on the collaboration front, sadly for my wallet!
Yes, they feel a bit rougher than the back of the case but not too rough that would cause it to get stuck in your jeans 😊 In terms of "grippiness", I think the leather back offers a bit more grip than the Aramid fibre.
My castify case finally failed ,( the right side started separating. Ofc it was past the 60 day warranty, phone was dropped 2x max on carpet within the year an 3 months. So I decided to try the 4.0 mous in leather . (iPhone 12)
Finally a review! Thank you. I am looking into getting this case. Does this case attract alot of dust and debris into the phone's sides? I know there are cutouts between both volume buttons which is a little strange and seems to be vulnerable to dust and debris. Also, are the outdated speaker and port cutouts a problem for dust. I am concerned about the ceramic glass on the back accumulating dust and scratches. I have the catalyst influence right now which fully covers everything but the port and back camera, though I would like full magsafe accessory compatibility. The influence lacks that. Also, is it just as difficult to remove the case as past mous iterations? Thanks in advance.
Hi there thank you and glad you enjoyed it! In terms of dust, not much is getting inside the case, it's pretty tightly fit around the phone just as previous versions so no issues on that front. Some fibre from clothing may get into the large cutouts at the bottom but I get that with other cases to be fair. Getting the phone in and out is just as tricky as before 😆 it is a shame they removed the nice lining they had before as that gave me a better peace of mind. Hope this helps and thanks for watching! I will be comparing this with other cases soon so stay tuned 👊
@@AlexGTech Yes, thank you for the info. It looks like a great case. I am just concerned about the various cutouts including the small thin cutouts between the volume buttons( usually fully covered on all other brands) and of course the cutouts at the bottom. Also I’m not sure how protective the tpu lining will handle dust and debris and scratches. Have this exposure to the stainless steal chassis due to the bottom cutouts and volume thin cutouts been a problem with the previous iteration or scratched up the iPhone 12 Pro? Thanks again. This makes my decision a lot easier. Love my catalyst influence, but would enjoy having all the advantages of MagSafe.
I bought the 3.0 based on your other video yesterday as my phone was arriving today and the 4.0 was unavailable on Amazon. It arrived today just before the phone arrived. I’m very happy with it, great quality (believe me, I’ve used all of the greats) and I will buy the Mouse charger. TBH, the 3.0 looks a lot nicer! Many thanks for your videos. They are as good as those with 1M + subscribers. Keep at it mate. You will get the subscribers and Mouse will be begging you to review their products. I’m just sorry that the people at Mous have been so short sighted and aloof on this occasion!
Yay! Really happy for you! Yes, the 3.0 is lush, with that interior lining. The phone feels very snug in it which gives me a lot of confidence when dropped. I haven't dropped my iPhone12 as much (guess its because we're in the house so much these days...) But since my iPhone X and 11, this case is my go to for protection 👊 And thanks so much for your kind words, comments like this one is what keeps me going and inspired to keep creating. Have a good one, see you around 🙏
great review! What I never get is why the more durable cases don't come in more colors- like i would love a pink or a light blue. Its not just Mous but other more durable cases from other companies too- it seems only the less durable cases have more customization/color options.
yes, I totally agree! I just found a brand from France that has really cool colour options. I am about to review one of their cases. They are not cheap but really good quality, they are called Noreve from Saint Tropez (not sponsored btw, just great quality).
@@clisaa6974 I know right! Their cases are nice but overpriced for the level of protection they give, as you say not on par with the quality of their phones! Have a good one 🙏🏽
Hi there, sorry about the delay in getting back to you! I don't think so, the leather version anyway - it has to many natural leather grooves so probably not a good idea. I'd go with a magsafe accessory for this case. Hope this helps 👊
Limitless 4.0 is and feels thinner than limitless 3.0 but for some reason I trust limitless 3.0 to protect my phone better than limitless 4.0 possibly coz 4.0 is not lined with layer of micro fibre which also gives the case that cheap plastic feel and the camera bump is almost non existent. Limitless 3.0 did better job of providing these extras, could also hold a sim tray tool inside and was a much tighter fit which felt good lol. Only reason I bought limitless 4.0 coz it’s MagSafe compatible. I’d recommend 3.0 if you do not use MagSafe charger as it feels more premium, offers more protection and now is cheaper to buy than 4.0.
Hi there! Totally agree with you, the trade-off is exactly that, less protection at the back for more MagSafe accessories compatibility. Thanks for watching! Have a great weekend (I guess we’re close enough to the weekend now 😂) which finish did you choose, leather or other material?
@@AlexGTech I chose the aramid fibre both times due to it being more scratch resistant compared to the rest but sadly its a finger print magnet. Must say Bamboo looks amazing but also easier to scratch and dent as seen in some other videos. I’ve seen a few with walnut case but it does not have the premium look lol and I’m assuming leather would scuff easy in pocket with keys etc.
Nice case if you are wanting something thin, but seems a bit pricy for what you get. I don't mind paying for a good case as I have the Otterbox Strada and pretty happy with it. Its absoutly not thin though and is a bit bulky but I don't mind. First case I've used that can include cards/ID and I love it. I hated carrying around my wallet and half the time forget it in my truck when I went into the store, or better yet left it at home.
hi there, the more I use this case the more I tend to agree with you. The back is thinner but overall the feel is fairly similar to the previous limitless versions. The MagSafe connectivity is great too, I have a car mount for MagSafe and is nice to be able to use that with this case now. I hear you on the wallet thing, been there too 😂 Have a good one 👊
I love mous I’ve been using it since my XS, now I have the 13 pro max and I am getting the 4.0. I wish they would’ve stayed with the lining inside the case. They’re cases out there with this lining and it doesn’t effect the the MagSafe.
Thank you! I got that from Adobe and customised it, if you want to I can send you it, via Instagram or email - you can get the links to those in my TH-cam banner and About page 👊

Thanks Fenson!! Yeah it’s a heavy boi for sure but it’s basically peace of mind. For the filming I dropped a few times to get the clean shot 😂 (dog got in the way, then my son flushed 🚽 on another one) but I was not nervous dropping the phone on hard tiles 😂 not many cases out there I’d do this without worrying 😑

Hi Jack, so far so good for me. I don’t go crazy with my phone anyway but it does get knocked about a bit when I’m driving or going for walks. It looks good so far 🤞🏽
I’m Sorry to ask you another question. The product I bought is coming to Korea. The iPhone 12 Pro Max camera is more protruding than other iPhone models, and I wonder if the Mous case protects the camera as well. I am very Sorry to bother you. And thanks a lot Alex.

@@constantinoslazarou7933 that is very strange! Was that for the 12 Pro Max? I wonder if they are different. I can ask the guys from the brand directly...
@@AlexGTech it is for the iPhone 12 (limitless 4.0 leather). Can you ask them if it's possible? I also send them an email but didn't receive a reply yet.
Hey Aubu! Oh man, they are hart to beat for sure!! I am slightly disappointed with the interior lining as that loses a bit of the premium feel for me, but it's still an amazing quality case!
Hi there, so far no markings. I’ve used it for about a month and a half now but I do try other cases and sometimes I charge using a cable rather than MagSafe so probably too early to tell for me.
Purchased a Mous case for my Note 20 Ultra, but upon seeing it on my phone, I didn't really have confidence in it. There's no Airoshock on the bottom edge of the case at all due to the cutouts for charging, the S pen, etc. so protection there would seem to be a weak point. Also looking at my phone sideways, I could see that the screen is higher than the edges of the case. Yes, the ends of the case are raised, but what if your phone struck the edge of an object in a fall, like a curb for example, the raised ends aren't going to project your screen. And the case is hard with no Airoshock on the back, and quite a few Amazon reviewers have stated their phones broke the back glass after just dropping the phone from their hand to the floor. I work in a sheet metal fabrication shop on a concrete floor all day, and I have far more confidence in an Otterbox Defender case for less money.
Hi there, fair enough. I just had these cases for a few years now and it saved my bacon several times over in all sorts of different terrains, including tarmac whilst cycling 😳 But yeah, I suppose if it fell on a funny angle it could still damage the device but so far it's been pretty solid for me 👊 I gotta try otterbox, other people have recommended that to me too
@@AlexGTech I forgot to mention that covered ports are very important to me as construction work is dirty work. And I only know a few cases that have covered ports, Otterbox, Supcase, Caseborne, formerly ArmadilloTek, and Youmaker come to mind.
Wow, these ads are getting clever!! I should be charging them for it. By the way, this is 100% not sponsored by Mous, I purchased it with my own money. I will be honest, I did ask them for it as I am big fan anyway but they are not supporting any new creators sadly 😞 Hope you enjoyed the video anyway! Are you considering picking one of these up yourself?

Don't you imagine the Mag-Safe had something to do with the change, on the new I-Phone case at least. I am thinking about ordering a leather Mous case with the wrist strap (which you get for $5 if order when get case) for my new Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. I'll let you know if it has all the nice microfiber inside, which I prefer as well. Thanks for the great review. I subscribed & rang bell 🔔 👍
Hi Stacy thank you so much! Welcome to the channel! 👊 Yeah, they made this change to accommodate MagSafe 100%. So the trade-off is you get MagSafe accessories compatibility (rather than just Mous accessories) in exchange of the interior lining. This case is lighter too, so that's another advantage. Funnily enough I just received my S21 Ultra case today 😊 Expect video on that soon. Have a great weekend 🙏
Just got the 4.0 for the 12 Pro Max in Walnut and I’m pleasantly surprised, it’s awesome 😊. I got the 3.0 in walnut for the 12 Pro Max a few weeks ago and sold it the next day as it was too heavy and thick, but this case is perfect, as I use the MagSafe accessories .
Great to hear! I think that is exactly what Mous was going for, Magsafe compatibility and keeping the protection features. It must have been a tough decision to remove the interior lining but I can see why they did it. I am always very tempted by the walnut finish, maybe that's the one for me to try next 👊
@@AlexGTech How's the interior lining holding up after two weeks? Is it protecting the back or causing imprints of the internal lining patterns(ring, etc)? Also, is dust and debris able to get into the case?
@@mmaged2287 it's holding up OK but to be fair I am not travelling or doing much these days apart from local walks. No marks or dust though so that's OK so far.
Oh no! So far so good but it’s only been over a week. Was hoping that this would be more durable. I’m curious to see how it looks around the MagSafe element as well as some leather cases from Apple start to show the round mark after a while 🤔 will keep you guys updated! Thanks for checking this video out 👊🏽
@@kingyang826 the texture rubs away leaving the leather material smooth and sticky. Becomes very dirty requiring constant washing. Just read the Amazon reviews and not those on Mous’ website which suspiciously are all five stars.
Hey! I’ve been a fan and user of Mous and its accessories since the Limitless 2.0 series. But 3.0 has issues for me. The sides were loose and the replacement had the issue you mentioned in the video; there was a GAP between the materials and I could see the metal/magnet beneath. I still use it because I’ve invested into their ecosystem with the car mount and card folio (bought for the iPhone 11 Pro Max, works with the 12 pro max). The 4.0 series looks disappointing to me, namely due to the lack of the lining at the back. I feel that protects the back of the phone from scratches and set it apart from other Brands. I also don’t want a thinner case. I want a protective case.
Hi Terence! Yeah I'm with you on that 100%, even though it has some great protective features I can't help but think they've cheapened the product by not adding that microfiber lining... 3.0 definitely had a few issues, I had some viewers say the same especially on the aramid fiber version. Hope they sort that dssign out soon or reflect the downgrade in the price... Thank you as ever for checking it out 👊
@@AlexGTech I’m waiting for the Peak Design mobile series to be released and to read their reviews. Their range of accessories for mobile products looks very interesting Edit: the 4.0 looks to have been hurriedly designed and rushed out to catch the MagSafe wave.
Hi there, thanks for the kind words Carter 👊🏽 the magnets are very strong, I haven't tried sticking to a fridge, my fridge has a wooden panel on it 😅 but it works really well on massage accessories like car mounts and stuff, as strong if not stronger than Apples own cases!
I didn’t realise that, I thought it was aesthetics. I’m uploading a new video about Mous today for the iPhone 13 and this speaker cutout is still there 😊
The case is way to slippery in hand, yes your phone will be fine if you drop it but when the phone case is the reason for when you drop it that’s a problem. If you were to drop it in a place you could not get it back. Better to get a case that is more grippy to prevent falling.
Hi there, there's no link but I can send it to you. You can ping me a DM on twitter or via my email (check on the channel about tab) and I can send it to you. 👊
Just got mine today! 😃👍🏻 (Used your 20% code 🙏🏻) and @6:45 you sum it up well. I find the bottom and top edges to feel pointy and sharp. Not liking that so we’ll see once I get using it. It normally becomes annoying when making a phone call as it’s rubbing against my ear and then bugs me when I am swiping up a lot from the bottom. (Yes I am very picky 😂)

Haha thank you! Glad you liked it, am loving the leather feel but sad the interior lining is gone.
Mouse
@Mous , PLEASE ! Is it possible to use Moment lenses with ? please (if not, to adapting it with a cutter ? LOL)
@@AlexGTech Awesome, thank you!
Thanks Alex! Wondering... Mous vs Otterbox Symmetry, what should I choose?
Hi Yuval 👋 I’ve never tried Otterbox to be honest. I do hear good things. Mous is a product I’ve used since iPhone X and before I did these videos. I just love their products and their customer service. I should try Otterbox really…
@@AlexGTech thanks 👍
Hey Alex what does the case look like after usage? Does the leather patina? I know a few years ago the leather would peel off of these cases
What screen protector do you recommend to pair this with?
Hi there, I am using the Rhinoshield 3D impact right now but I also like Mous' own screen protector, both very good so far.
What do you think the mous 4.0 vs the otterbox defender xl for the 13 max pro? The otterbox still seems like it has better drop protection?
Hi there, I haven’t tried the otterbox yet but I heard good things. I should probably do a comparison video!
Hey I’ve got a question, does the leather case if u use the magsafe alot get stains?
Thx
I still use mine fairly regularly and I do attach it to my car charger. No visible marks at all on the leather version
I hope you see this but what mous is the most durable from 1.0 to whatever the newest case is
Hi there, the outer shell is exactly the same on both 3.0 and 4.0. So durability wise, they are both the same, but with 3.0 the interior is nicer (and little bit heavier too)
what kind of screen protector would you recommend if I were to get this? I have a iPhone 12 pro max brand new.
thanks for the content btw!
@@AlexGTech sweet thanks! and what kind of case would you prefer? speckled fabric, black leather, etc.?
Hope this helps 👊

absolutely! Have dropped my 11 Pro Max, 12 Pro Max and whilst not my 13 Pro Max yet, I can see it has the same levels of protection. I just did a new video including this and other options too, so check it out: th-cam.com/video/kcRimjL8rZc/w-d-xo.html
Beautiful leather but does this version provide less protection than the Aramid Fibre version?

one question... Is it true a hardened inside will damage your phone? I really cant choose between the limitless 3.0/4.0
Finally a review on 4.0
I know right! I was looking for it myself, so decided to make a video since I couldn't find anything. Thanks for watching and hope you enjoy it! Are you considering one these yourself?
Think its worth it over the 3.0? Trying to decide between the two. ive been eyeing the 3.0 for a while now and its much cheaper with the 4.0 out now
Hi there. I think it comes down to MagSafe accessories. If you’re not bothered about them, then 3.0 is still a fantastic option!
Does the raised lip still work if you have a screen protector? or would it protruded the same amount?
It does still protect it, yes. Most screen protectors still leave enough of a gap between the screen and the bezels

nice and detail review . for the mag safe circle logo on the case does it leave any imprint on the back of the phone itself ? also how is the back of your phone and scratches ? since there is no inner micro fiber lining.

It used to on previous version but the magnets are quite strong now.

That’s such a good point, haven’t thought of that myself!
Hi, just want to ask does this case get the ring imprint after extensive use of magsafe charging?
Hi there I haven’t noticed any to be honest but I’d say I wasn’t really extensively using a MagSafe accessory to charge it, most nights it goes onto my bedside table with a cable charger. And when I did use the MagSafe charger it was only for a top up but I haven’t noticed any rings on either leather or Aramid fiber that I used 👊🏼
@@AlexGTech Thank you for the answer, think I'l order the leather one :).
What’s the difference between the 3.0 and the 4.0?
4.0 works well with MagSafe and all MagSafe accessories (wallets, car mounts, etc). 3.0 is 15 grams heavier but has a nice interior lining that (in my opinion) protects the back of the phone really well

Question: is this phone case a dust magnet?
Hi Tyler, it’s actually been pretty good with keeping dust away. I have a screen protector and I can see after a few days a little bit of dust between the protector edge and the case but nothing crazy, quite easy to clean. Nothing getting inside the phone as far as I can tell. 👊🏽
@@AlexGTech thank you for the reply, and I’ve been in need of a case that isn’t a dust collector because with these masks I’m not able to just blow it away. But I will definitely be purchasing this case. 😎

Hi there, if you ping me a DM on Insta or Twitter (or email me) I can ping that over. My details are on the About tab on my main channel page. Cheers!
Thanks for the feedback. I am deciding between this and Otterbox Aneu.
The previous version (3.0) could be charged through MagSafe but very weak connection.

question: what’s the grip like on the 4.0? is it still a little slippery?
It is indeed, not much difference which is why for the 4.0 I decided to go for the leather back. I now have the same on my S21 ultra with leather and feels much grippier than the Aramid fibre version for me.
How’s the strength of the magnets compared to something like MagBak?
I would say they are as strong as Apple's own case, they really stick to the accessories!

I made it myself, if you want a copy I can send it to you, just ping me on twitter or instagram (on the channel banner there's a link to that) 👊
I very rarely drop it as the Velcro stick it to my custom phone mount that I make
Sod It I've just bought one :)
Hi there, sorry about the delayed response! Honestly, you can't go wrong with these bad boys! I don't have the confidence to drop a grands' worth of gear with many other brands 😊 This has saved my bacon multiple times in previous models, really good quality stuff. The velcro will only help I think. In the case it lands on its back it may reduce the impact even further.
haha you won't regret it, these are built like brick houses 😂 Which material did you go for?

Was just about to place my order. Unfortunately the discount code didnt work. Which made the price unappealing.
try ALEXTECH20 - I think Mous just changed it yesterday
Leather or the speckled fabric?
I prefer the leather one Ryan! For me it's a bit more elegant, really suits the iPhone. I tried the Aramid Fiber too which was my favourite for years but I gotta say, there's something about the leather that I really like, especially added grip. Hope this helps! Have a great week ahead!
So would you say as unbiased as possible if I have bricked two otter box cases that this is the next one I should try?
@@AlexGTech Thank you for reply. I’ve just bought mous fiber case.

Also it doesn’t feel so premium as I expected… it’s not worth it.
which pattern offers more grip?
Leather for sure!

Lots of details, have no more question marks about the 4.0 :)
Been waiting for someone to cover the 4.0, I myself have the 3.0 but am thinking about getting another 4.0 for compatibility with other Magsafe Accesories.
With matte black, it might never get the magsafe ring imprint on the back but a bit more expensive
Nomad - speaker cut outs are still symetrical, magsafe imprint on the back eventually, leather gets scratched easily, due to pandemic - cleaning the leather can be more challenging
Apple leather - similar to nomad, except for correct bottom cut out. However, the exposed stainless band around the screen might might get scratched eventually?
Apple silicone - I have the plum color and it attracts too much marks from my hands which makes it look dirty always plus a lint magnet and the exposed metal band similar to the apple leather
Dbrand grip - magnets are too weak even on the revised model for the 12 pro max.
Can you do a review with the Pacific blue and the same case please?
th-cam.com/video/kcRimjL8rZc/w-d-xo.html I reviewed this same case (with different finishes) in this video 👊🏼
@@AlexGTech oh I thought that’s the Sierra Blue, not the Pacific Blue from the IPhone 12 Pro Max
Does the bamboo version of the case have the same level of protection as it is showing a little cheaper?
Hi there - exactly the same protection, I guess the material is cheaper to produce - not sure to be honest.
does the aramind Fiber 4.0 still catch fingerprints?
Hi Samar, I don’t have the aramid fibre in 4.0 but I heard from one of my viewers here that it is better and grippier than the 3.0 aramid fiber.

@@Muzzymart_ 👊🏽
Thanks man, I might just order it to compare in person and decide what to keep.
Quick comments:
- The Mous looks beautiful but it’s A LOT more slippery than the Otterbox.

Are the edges grippy?
Yes, they feel a bit rougher than the back of the case but not too rough that would cause it to get stuck in your jeans 😊 In terms of "grippiness", I think the leather back offers a bit more grip than the Aramid fibre.
My castify case finally failed ,( the right side started separating. Ofc it was past the 60 day warranty, phone was dropped 2x max on carpet within the year an 3 months. So I decided to try the 4.0 mous in leather . (iPhone 12)
The Mous in leather is one of my favorite models, and has saved my bank account several times 😆

I haven't dropped my iPhone12 as much (guess its because we're in the house so much these days...) But since my iPhone X and 11, this case is my go to for protection 👊 And thanks so much for your kind words, comments like this one is what keeps me going and inspired to keep creating. great review!
@@AlexGTech oh cool. ill check that out thanks. You would think Apple could create a crazy amazing case to protect their $1000 phone lol. But, no.
@@clisaa6974 I know right! Their cases are nice but overpriced for the level of protection they give, as you say not on par with the quality of their phones! Have a good one 🙏🏽
So it doesn’t have a screen protector?
No, they sell that separately.
Will a pop socket adhese to this case?
Yes I miss that feature too 😞 it is a bit slimmer now but maybe they should have two versions and let us choose with or without the lining…🤔

Hey Aubu! Oh man, they are hart to beat for sure!! I am slightly disappointed with the interior lining as that loses a bit of the premium feel for me, but it's still an amazing quality case!
Is there any markings from where MagSafe attaches to the leather over long term use?

Their range of accessories for mobile products looks very interesting
Edit: the 4.0 looks to have been hurriedly designed and rushed out to catch the MagSafe wave.
@@terencetan236 yeah that makes sense, will check out peak design, I love that brand too for camera gear stuff
@@AlexGTech I love their 6L Everyday sling. A regular in my bag rotation.
Great review man. Sold me on the product. I do wonder though, how strong are the magnets? Can it stick to a fridge for example?
Hi there, thanks for the kind words Carter 👊🏽 the magnets are very strong, I haven't tried sticking to a fridge, my fridge has a wooden panel on it 😅 but it works really well on massage accessories like car mounts and stuff, as strong if not stronger than Apples own cases!
Speaker cutout is larger for the antenna stripe as you can see
I didn’t realise that, I thought it was aesthetics.
Links on the wallpaper u use?
Are the sides flat or still rounded?
they're flatter than 3.0 but still not as flat as the phone itself 👊
@@AlexGTech thank you!!
Okay!
I am getting one of these!
I heard you Alex, nice video.
Keep it up.
Hi Makinde! Thanks so much, am glad it helped you, the leather version is (so far) my new favourite in their range.I hope you enjoy it 👊🏽
