Can’t put my finger on it (perhaps it’s the eyes) but design really gives off Ralph Bakshi vibes. It definitely has more facial expression than the final creation and looks more like it would have been a speaking character.
@ilikenothingtoo They do 3D scan the originals, but I believe these pieces are cast for mass production. I believe this probably entails resin 3D printing a master and then making a mold of that into which traditional casting resin is poured, although I haven’t asked about the details of the process. It’s probably true that it would be harder to remove from the mold with the hook (and I think this is what the original comment meant) but I don’t think that would affect their decision since they could always just make it a separate piece that is attached later.
Nothing says Return of the Jedi like the Gamorrean Guards. One of the best alien designs from the OT!
I always love watching your star wars videos! Whenever there is new jabba/star wars stuff out i go to you!
Cool early draft Pig Gamorrean Guard Statue, thanks for showing it, Mighty Jabba Collection.

Lego put out a huge (and expensive) Sail Barge for an October 1st release, will you be reviewing it?
I plan to
Are you going to do a review on the new Lego jabbas sail barge coming out?
Yes
1:11 Action Man
might be a dumb question but why cover the number on the plaque? safety reasons?
I'd imagine it being easier to cast without the hoop was a factor too.
Pretty sure they 3d scan all these maquettes. Casting them would probably destroy them or at least damage them .
