    Solid solution here. I like keeping everything I can inside of the GP/GB ecosystem - makes life a lot easier. That said, I'm going to be exploring some enhanced capabilities with WS Form Post Management addon. I've done a lot of ACF work and this will provide a much better controlled interface for site editing features. Things like changing an event date (PieCal is driving my calendar with ACF dates), editing ACF content fields, etc etc. Yeah, a bigger selection in the dashboard - but I've got a pretty extensive site. What you provided here was exactly what I've been looking for - a way to use GP/GB to build out what I want coupled in with features from Admin & Site Enhancements and some user roles enhancements. Thanks a bunch for this one - it's a solid foundation. 🙂

    This is really a great idea. I just finished a site where the office manager wants to add posts and upload podcasts. I was going to make a custom video and share it with her. Now, I'll create a generic video and imbed it on THEIR site. Too cool. Thanks again for another great idea. -- hutch

    I think I would consider showing the admin bar for editor role as well as the admin bar. I encourage my users to login to make simple changes. Having the admin bar available to editors allows them to use the front end to get to the page to edit and then edit from the admin bar.
    Exellent post as always. Appreciate you Kyle.

      @TheAdminBar  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, I see your point. I've just dealt with so many clients thinking that was part of their site, I decided to hide it. But I can see how that would make it more convenient to just hit "edit page" (which is what I do!)

    I have a suggestion for a video that you can cover. The theme is how to handle the users registration and login in Wordrpress in the right way for the sites that needs users to register and login - like a company directory.
    I would like to see how to handle making the custom register and login forms with WS form, using ACF custom fields for users and how to handle changing the default Wordpress register and login URLs to custom forms, regular or popup versions. If possible to do all this programmatically through code snippets rather than existing plugins.
    Thx

    Thank you for this. I have gone on to create a client page that allows them to, for example, update board members. For example they can edit the President position with the name, bio, headshot, and contact information. They never see the WordPress backend. I'm using MetaBox Frontend Submission for this.

    Could you explain though how did you put that in your starter site? How does that work?

    • @TheAdminBar

      Thank you ❤. I'm hoping to do a video on my new starter site before the end of the year... but put simply... I just have an install of WordPress with all of these kinds of things in it. When I start a new project, instead of starting from scratch, I just clone that install. This dashboard, therefore, is already there for every new project.

    • @alistoicakovacs1198

      Thanks for the quick reply man!
      So you basically edit a fresh wordpress install? In the code, or through the dashboard?
      Or you what you have done is that you installed wordpress, edited the site and then clone that whenever you want to start a new site/project?🙈
      Sorry for the multiple questions. I appreciate that you took your time to reply!@@TheAdminBar

    This is a fantastic idea! I initially thought you were going to show how to transform the backend, but this is much more in my reach than I expected. I can't wait to collab with my team to make one of these.
    However, do you know of any way to add an admin dashboard widget into this kind of page? I have a few widgets that clients want to see when they log in, let's say for example the Quick Post widget.
    Thanks for the video! Loved it! ❤

    • @TheAdminBar
      @TheAdminBar  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Awesome idea Kyle! How do the client find the dashboard again after they have eg. edited a post? In your video, they might click on the default dashboard in the WP admin, but maybe you can create some kind of redirect to the new and shiny dashboard?
    Another thing: What do you do when you have installed this awesome dashboard on 50+ client sites, and you need to make some changes to the default dashboard setup and content? Is it possible to create some kind of dynamic content areas on the dashboard so you only have to edit that once? It could for instance be the case if you want to change a form, replace the generic video about how you create a page, or if you simply need to add another mail address.

    • @TheAdminBar
      @TheAdminBar  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thanks! I actually added the redirect from the default "dashboard" page to my starter site this morning 😅
      As far as if it needs updates and it's on "50+ sites"...
      First, at my pace, that would take me about 10 years to get to 😂 So, having to change 50 sites just isn't a consideration for me. I'm sure there are ways to make this all more dynamic - but it's really not worth it for me.

    • @niaskywalk
      @niaskywalk 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I wonder if maybe this kind of thing needs to become a php template or plugin that can be updated programmatically. We have 80+ sites, but at this point I still need to do things manually and looking for the same kind of thing. I will surely watch for ideas here.

    • @niaskywalk
      @niaskywalk 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TheAdminBar So if they click the admin dashboard it will now redirect to the Dashboard you created? That is part of the PHP you shared, right?
