Julie, I know that everything growing in the pool even the little lizards is supposed to be good for you....but ya just can't convince me to swim in there. The plant Islands look beautiful, good job all. Love from NY
The aerial view shows a striking difference between the 2 pools! The organic pool water is very clear. Planted aquariums use the same concept to reduce water changes since the plants naturally filter the water from the fish waste. Ramshorn snails also reduce the amount of algae and decaying matter in planted tanks. It’s a fantastic natural method to maintain a healthy ecosystem for fish, plants and clean water! 🌱🐠💦
In fountains and stock tanks putting in some barley straw in mesh bundles helps keep the water clearer and the amount of algae down. It’s cheap and easy and really works but it must be barley straw. Although the pool is looking fantastic, during very hot , sunny times when algae growth is highest, they might suspend a mesh bale or two under the floating platforms. I don’t know why but it really works to keep the water naturally clear.
Love the progress on your pool project at Mapperton. My one concern is to do with a single celled amobea currently found in warm water bodies like lakes and pools .when it is swollowed while swimming .it has penetrated the brain and been fatal to those who have indested it. Due to the hot weather in England right now I think the conditions in the pool may not be safe for swimming. Check out the cases that have happened in the Southern U.S. Maybe a trip to the Dorset Coast may be still a cooling off option . Have the water tested for this and wait for cooler weather. Stay safe and thank you always for the content
I'm so excited for this EP . I'm thrilled with that you, your family, and all who work all around the Estate are sharing all the wonderful and healthy ideas with us in the world. Thank you for sharing your time and joy with us. I'm getting motivated. Yippee
I'm so so glad you're doing this naturally. It's a natural pool, making it into a chemical wasteland would have been really terrible! Now you're creating an ecosystem that will benefit the garden as a whole, rather than harm it. 💚
I didn't realize just how large the pool was. Those planters are pretty substantial but in the pool they look fairly small. But, bravo. Lots of progress.
I'd eat my shorts if I'm wrong, but I really don't feel there are enough plants to filter the phosphates and nitrates from such a large volume of water. Even once the plants are fully grown on the islands. 🤷🏻♂️
So very well done, Julie, Luke, and Mapperton crew. So lovely of all of you to work so hard to preserve all things Mapperton. I for one, appreciate and enjoy it very much 👍🇺🇲🤗
I’d be listening to him about amoebas and protozoas… Naegleria fowleri - is known as the "brain-eating amoeba". It is microscopic and can get into the body through water, typically the nose when swimming in freshwater lakes or rivers. Children in Australia and the US thought to have contracted it through playing in tap water. Naegleria fowleri thrives in warm water so is not typically found in the UK but with the warming temperatures it may become more prevalent.
So proud of you all. This..is the sort of input into nature, the sort of change I like to see the "upper class" work on. Put their money where their mouth is. Not begrudging your status, heavens no. I adore that you do make changes for the better...without preaching! Thank you! ❤
It's amazing to see the transformation. The pool looks fabulous!! The planters are really very beautiful! Love Jasper's t-shirt design! It's wonderful to see David and Raymond! Learning about the plants is interesting.A floating kitchen garden sounds great.I look forward to seeing the pool plants grow and what what water testing shows Love from Vermont
Wonderful work you all put in Julie and crew. It looks amazing! David and Raymond have been just fantastic. They are so calm and reassuring to Julie and Luke. 👏🏻♥️🇺🇸
So nice to see experts working and the project coming along bit by bit. One funny moment at 11:50 it translates stones to pounds and I still had no idea how much it was XD, had to google converter to kg. Thanks for sharing your work and good luck!
Hi y'all, I LOVE ❤️ Raymond.he is So gentile, humble, and Bloody smart..Love him. Cheers to Raymond for All he does on the estate. Great job..I will send plenty of alligators from The gulf coast of bama.. Can get some from NOLA, but they eat alot of gumbo.
Going to be wonderful. Watched a movie about one gardener who built a small bit of the gardens of Versailles. Like watching Michelangelo paint in comparison with all the passion for their horticulture craft. I believe patience is the keyword here. Nature needs a boost just like the salamanders.😊💕👋🏼🇺🇸
Did someone remove my comment about the floating insulation possibly leaching chemicals into the pool? It was just a concern of mine. What is the floating insulation made of? I mean if you are swimming in this pool. Being organically minded the designer has addressed this but you never really did say that the insulation wouldn't break down and would be non toxic.
Such amazing results, from such hard work! The pools and floating plants, are most certainly jewels 💙🌿💚 in the crown 👑, of your estate! Organic, earth friendly and ecologically sound, bravo! Congratulations Mapperton Estate and crew, well done!
Absolutely Beautiful! The garden is amazing - Loved the drone footage. Is the meditation circle gone, I saw it's mark on the grass but not the poles? I was thinking the heat would have affected the pool in some way but by the sounds of things it has only helped to speed up the transition to being an organic pool safe to swim in. Congratulations!!! Huge accomplishment to be very very proud of!
Thank you so much for doing this. I love watching the progress! Good Work! Hope someday to see this in person. Much love and care to you and your family. ❤ I learn so much from these videos.
Holes the size of the pot are cut through the insulation, mesh is put into the holes and the pots are place in. The roots penetrate through the mesh and are directly in contact with the water. It's explained in Part 1. This video is Part 2.
The pool looks really beautiful and much clearer but I would put a rowboat in it and not swim, I wouldn't want you to get sick Julie and your family with all the awful heatwave everywhere. Maybe a chlorinated small splash pool with an aged look somewhere tucked away.
Luke gave you followed through with your new year's resolution of doing cold water immersion therapy with Julie this summer? Also are you planning on making more rewilding videos? I hope everyone is having a lovely day💜🎣
Here's more are you ready for Heaven? Have you ever lied, stolen used God's name as a curse word (O-M-G)? According to God's law, you're guilty. But wait, God loves you, he made a way out. They obviously don't want that; are working to preserve Mapperton's history and original features. The whole point of their work and channel. Something that appears to have gone right over your head, along with the other person here.
@@donnabaardsen5372 Nope. I know, knew what they are doing but a real pool would be good for the kids they have. Even the famous Biltmore Home and Gardens had a real pool back in the late fifties. Julie with power tools 🤣. Sage advice from Raymond, “we’ve done the best we can”. Great job everyone 👍.
