    With side plank, if the client comments the shoulder is stressing, is this an indication that they are not activating their gluten and have let go of their core bracing? Or is this more a matter of shoulder weakness?

    • @alexi5540
      @alexi5540 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Strong core equals less stress on any extremity.

    • @alexi5540
      @alexi5540 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Stick with standard plank for the client. Yes, build endurance for all extremities and re-visit.

      Also there is definite lactic acid build up in the shoulders depending on if the form is correct so stretching might be necessary.

      Does this person have issues with overhead lifting or lifting a weight out to the side? If so this person could have some shoulder injuries.

    Would you change this workout or stick with it through the entirety of Phase 1?

    • @AndrewTheTransformer
      @AndrewTheTransformer 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would say each workout is a progression from the previous session so every program is different.

    • @mennamagdy1106

      I have the same question , how we progress this workout or for how long this workout would last ??

    • @AndrewTheTransformer
      @AndrewTheTransformer 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@mennamagdy1106 You can keep same exercises over a couple of weeks but changing the resistance/repetitions/rest time based on the person. In week 3-4 you can change exercises and repeat the acute variables above. Week 5-6 would be a deload before moving on to the next phase. This is one way of doing it

    I really feel like this whole program is trying to make me an amateur physical therapist as opposed to a qualified fitness trainer.

    • @jimmiejay8174
      @jimmiejay8174 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It is. It was designed by a physical therapist. People always say nasm is the best but I disagree. I regret getting this certification. Why would I train someone on an unstable surface if they can’t even do the stable exercise correctly? Why is power after maximal strength? Power is a crucial component to maximum strength. That’s just the surface of everything that is wrong with this. NASM would be great to have if you are in fact planning on working in rehabilitative environments. As for personal training for the generally healthy population, absolutely not. There’s not many people who are jumping up and down to do their “single leg curl to press with a 4-2-1-1 tempo”. Wtf. No one is gonna stick with such a boring and anal workout program. They label it “pes planus distortion syndrome”. Don’t tell the client they have a fucking syndrome. That tears down their self image. Keep it simple and just say “hey, your feet cave in but that’s ok, we’ll strengthen your glutes, hip abductors, and arches and move on once we get to where we need to be”. So so much wrong with nasm. Then they keep wanting you to get all these bullshit certs. If they were advertising this to be a credential to add to your physical therapy school weight packet, wonderful. But for the general population that personal training attracts? Nah
