I am still working through watching this whole video, but you made mention that your server is in another room and I am interested in learning more about that. I am trying to learn more about SQL, SSMS and SSRS which are all things our report writers at work use to create stored procedures and SSRS reports I use as a Data Management Analyst. I am not cool enough to have access to these tools, so I have downloaded them on my personal laptop to mess around with and have a locally hosted server on my laptop where I create test databases and tables with dummy data. My question to you is what resources are out there, either your own vids or other resources, that I can learn about what it means to set up a server to be used by SSMS like you have? I don't want to have to use my storage space on my personal laptop to host a server but I am totally ignorant to anything server related. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. The only stuff I can find are servers people setup to watch movies or play games and I have no clue if this is the same type of server used to store databases.
@@justinz1467 hey mate this is a fantastic comment and question! If you happen to speak Spanish I have a video where I go through a sql server install start to finish. I have 3 SQL Servers now and that was an install of my second. That link is below. Regardless feel free to reach out to me via discord and I’m happy to have a quick chat and set you up with lots of resources! linktr.ee/SQLdevDBA Tutorial Completo: Instalación de SQL Server y Base de Datos Fácil y Rápida (Paso a Paso) th-cam.com/video/RaMBjYkPYi8/w-d-xo.html
@SQLDevDBA so it basically sounds like it's much easier than I thought to accomplish this. All I really need is to just buy another computer that can run SQL Server and also setup a shared network drive for storage of all my files related to datasets and dashboards and anything else I want to srore separately. That way they are no longer on my laptop but still accessible on the whole using the laptop.
@ 100%! Yeah I just got a new one delivered this week, it was $130 on Woot. HP EliteDesk 800 with 8/16Gb ram will do! Then you can use your network to connect to it from your laptop :)
Hola, excelente video!..
I read one of your posts about SQL on Reddit, which led me here to your channel.
Thank you.
Hey thanks! I appreciate you stopping by!
Thank you! keep it coming!
@@manggnorora hey thanks very much! Appreciate it and definitely will!
