Just want to say how much I appreciate John and his content because he’s the reason I starting getting into powerlifting back in 2016 when my friend showed me him competing at worlds. Been a long journey from a 980lb total to currently a 1700lb total and learned a lot of life lessons along the way and that never would have happened without John. Much thanks ❤️
Going from a deadlift bar to a stiff bar at that level is a huge change. To still pull mid 800 not peaked is wild. Johns squats and dead’s seem super strong early in prep. Strong man lifts (axle bar and carries) have seemed to be a good change in stimulus to push johns squats and dead’s. Moving into peaking dialing in the big 3 is going to be crazy. Stay healthy John
It's the GOAT 🐐 training with John Haack. Hahah Just kidding, John. You are my favorite. Been following you since 2012 or 2013. This is a collab I never ever expected.
At six minutes I think he wants a barbell that you can change the bar on. Like if you are using a stiff bar remove the middle and hot swap a deadlift bar without unloading the sleeves. I mean you could probably do that with enough rolling space and a pair of snap ring pliers.
I don't think I've noticed it before, but from all the lifting videos, John's general vibe is kinda similar to Clarence Kennedy, would be neat to see a collab happen at some point!
Are you still coming off completely in between your cycles ? Perhaps you should try doing TRT in between so your strength, especially pressing strength, doesn’t take such a hit? Or is that just from the injury?
Hey John, I’m running a prep for my own sake rn (not a comp) and I’m one week out. Since I’m not competing for this prep I want to just milk my numbers as much as I can. Should I still do a full sbd day to time my peak or can I do a squat pr day then in a day hit a bench and deadlift pr. Is there a better way to go about that? - thanks in advance, Sergiy
If you plan on competing in the future, I’d do it as a full SBD day. Wouldn’t hurt to get more practice. Otherwise, I’d recommend doing squat and possibly bench on the same day. Then waiting 2-3 days to test deadlift.
There are other deadlifting styles other then conventional and sumo 😂 lots of Chinese weightlifters deadlift with a slightly wider then conventional deadlift especially for competition
perk is barely fucking sumo bro, theres no rom difference for his lift compared to his conventional, only difference is slightly more quad dominant and more room for a better back position.
@ because I’m tired of seeing these rejects that won’t do anything actual sport or team sport. They “lift weights” too and are great at their athletic performance. This is a joke and so are you ( probably idk I could be wrong) thoughts?

Whats this John talking trash? Love to see it, keep those collabs coming!
If you don’t talk a little trash with training partners, you’re not doing it right
This John guy is pretty strong, he should compete at the ipf
8:19 A wild Omar Isuf in the background 😂
oh shii didnt see that lmao
John advertises his clothing
Love John and his low key personality but i do like the trash talking too. Lets goooo John!!!!
Wasn’t expecting the best in the world tested & untested collab 🤯
Just because he's "tested" doesn't mean anything hahaha
@@factsnchill168 Pretty sure it means doping is more limited or at least trickier to pull off no?

His PR is 939 lol. Add another 100 lbs

Good to see you enjoying being on camera more, awsome collab please keep them coming!
Love the banter😂 gotta lift more with Perk
Deftones, korn and linkin park playing? Goated music selection

wake up babe john haack posted again🔥🔥🔥
Great Collab 👏👏
Momma, there goes that man….and that other man!!!
I don't know how John kept his cool with this kid?
they are good friends lol and austin perkins is also one of the strongest powerlifters ever
5:40, ngl that's a great idea
Good vibes in this collab

7:05 300kg? Sure it's not 295kg? 5 reds a green and a clip - I don't see any change plates.
Actually I guess it’s 297.5kgs. Just checked the footage and I put the 2.5kg plate on my side.

Hahaahah "i remember when i was 18"
11:48 he's out of his guord lol. "I did the same number of reps 4x3 vs 2x8" not only was he doing doubles, but 4x3 is 12 vs 2x8 being 16 lol
Austin wears his belt so high compared to most. Is there an advantage, or just preference?
i used to do, i don't recommend it. i got l5-S1 disc bulge because of it. i deadlifted 520 lbs conv.
It's just a preference
He says he likes to be able to brace his lats against it
Happy to say i can keep up with tested natties, my variegation was behind the back though and belt less but still 😂
Good stuff 💪

Intro song trash asf🙏🙏
Auston really tried to say 4x3 is the same as 2x8. He's right, it is the same thing, minus 4 reps.
I have no need to ego lift and I don't want to hurt myself. I don't know why people go so heavy.
The white ranger didnt pull that day?
Hey John,
Are you using Slog3 picture profile?
Thanks:)

Weigh the pros and cons. Every time you dabble in strongman something happens to your bench. It’s what you truly want

What is the intro song?
Can some1 tell me the intro song?
The best drug tested lifter is SSJ Bob
Nah, Austin is better
Good thing it says best tested lifter and not best natty lifter because we all known tested doesn’t mean natty
you're so weird
Do ABS PRO in Aug on a power bar and get that 2300lb total there! Embrace the challenge haha
Ik what Austin is talking about with the bar and it would be kinda smart 😭 just how would that even be possible
Bring back old intro
Lance Armstrong was tested for about 10-15 years....
I see John Hacck video
I like video
its a simple life
I think austins idea is like a bowflex adjustable dumbbell thing for heavy barbells. I think. 🙄
Omar!
Warmup room trash talk. Let’s make it a thing
John's last bench in this video is a red light. Hopefully he doesn't do that during the upcoming ABS comp
Austin gonna get banned from ipf for this 😭😭

are you both natty?
lol
Yes they both natural they have Antarctica genetic
