    Thank you for showing this approach in helping the brain to reconnect with the muscles and work with the core. I can remember early in on my first knee replacement that i would try to tell my leg to lift and it just wouldn't. The nerve pathways need to be re-established.

      Yes, indeed! The gentle micromovements of Bridging help the neuromuscular system connect back up so the coordination comes back quicker too. thanks for watching.

    Wowie! You can see how defensive his whole right side has gotten to protect that knee. I also could have sworn I saw the swelling going down, and then when you mentioned the swelling could go down during the session, I definitely believe it did during this session. Neat! Go Bears!

      @bridginginstitute  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great that you noticed that change! It was distinctly different to feel while working with his knee, and it wasn't until I watched the video later that I realized it was visibly different. Swelling changing quickly is pretty consistent when Bridging resets muscle relationships in an area. Yay!

    I had my knee done 8 weeks ago and I know how his knee feels at 4 weeks. When she pushed his knee towards his chest he jumped with the pain. I know that pain. Whatever she's done I hope it works for him. I'm m just glad she's not my therapist

    • @bridginginstitute
      @bridginginstitute  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wow you have a good eye! None of the movements are forced in Bridging so there wa no pushing it into a position0-just checking passive range of motion. His knee was still sensitive from the swelling.

  • @Maris-W

    This was amazing to watch. I'm just 10 days after my total knee replacement, still a lot of swelling, but getting easier to move. This seemed to change the range of movement so fast.

    • @bridginginstitute
      @bridginginstitute  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good eye! The key was re-acquainting the muscles coordinating the sides of his knee, and the coordination to his foot. We find typical PT exercises miss the lateral and rotational function of the knee, and the linkage to the ankle. If you're able to rock your knee while lightly holding the sides you should improve swelling and ease of movement too. Hope your recovery goes well!

    He appears to have quite a limited range of movement for 4-5 weeks post surgery. He clearly needs to work on getting his leg straight. That will go a long way to decreasing pain when walking. He is still at the point where his major focus should be range of motion. He can worry about strengthening when he gets to -3/120. His muscles still have a lot of healing to do. I base my comments on my experience in the 8.5 months since my total knee replacement. Frankly I didn't see that you did much beyond massaging he knee a bit.

    • @bridginginstitute
      @bridginginstitute  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching! He was 4 weeks out and, per ortho, on track but was still having more pain than he should have at this point in time. Soon after the session he was back to work and doing well with his PT exercises for the rest of his recovery.

    What about that rubber band tightness around the knee? It is awlful

    • @bridginginstitute
      @bridginginstitute  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Interesting that you describe it that way--other clients use the same language! Once the knee is healed, the tightness is a goal we work on in the 3D interactions from the knee to the foot and hip. Will try to find a guest with the issue for the future.

    I'm sorry did you really say that at 4 weeks and 2 days that, "it is healed and he's kind of recovered?" At 4 weeks?

    • @bridginginstitute
      @bridginginstitute  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ah, clarification... at 4 weeks there is a great deal of healing completed, but not 100%. His swelling and pain were at greater levels than expected, and he had been consulting his ortho and PT. From this session, the swelling changed enough to get on track with his full recovery. Thanks for watching and your questions.

    You have GOT to be HARD on yourself. Do the flipping exercises - even if you cry and rage -from Day ONE.
    Had mine done 3 1/2 months ago. Did 12 exercises three times a day. After six weeks I also did physio 3 times a week with a therapist.

    • @bridginginstitute
      @bridginginstitute  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for watching! Yes, agreed on doing the exercises. In his case, the range of motion was stuck and pain levels were higher than they should have been at 4 weeks. After getting the multi-dimensional muscle transitions reset in this session, the remainder of his recovery went smoothly with exercises.

      Not two days from surgery... he was several weeks post-op. He might have referenced it had been 2 days since PT. His swelling and pain made all his PT exercises hard to do. Always good to question the context of a comment, thanks.

    • @bridginginstitute
      @bridginginstitute  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      First, thanks for watching. Because we are taking a different way of problem solving and supporting the muscles, the changes as fast. This is one reason many of the video session guests return for a follow-up--so you can see how they changed. The original issues most of our clients have resolve in 2-3 sessions. They often have additional issues they want help with and choose to continue working together periodically.

    Say and do what you want. I'm a cancer survivor. I had knee replacement surgery two months ago. The pain never stops. You can sleep. You need toilet risers before you can use the bathroom or the ability to keep the injured leg straight while you do so. Swelling is 24 7 Ice all day. The list is endless don't do this.

    • @bridginginstitute
      @bridginginstitute  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      So sorry to hear. We find cancer survivorship has it's own issues with movement related to surgeries, radiation, chemo and the contrast solutions used for scans. Keep up the work in your recovery!

    • @bridginginstitute
      @bridginginstitute  หลายเดือนก่อน

      You are correct. What he had going on was not typical for his stage of recovery. There was more swelling that expected which was causing more pain than expected at 4 weeks. The pain and function changed enough for him to go back to work shortly after this session (self-employed).
