      Synthetic cork, felt, super glue, rubberbands, electrical and/or plumber's tape, tiny screwdriver(s), needle nose pliers, and I cut paper towel pieces to go in between the G# and C#--bc the pads still conform to the tone holes unlike key leaves (less leaks).

      @@gangofgreenhorns2672 No risk of leaks with Key Leaves products because they never touch pad leather. A healthy pad properly installed can stay stable and functioning for years when open. Just ask the majority of sax pads on any saxophone that spend their lives open.

      Pull through, then pad saver - that's what Steve Howard suggests and it works for me. Also dollar bill under the C# ( traditional). The only reason the Eb sticks is because it gets so wet. Just dry the horn. Also a pull through for the neck and mouthpiece. Little box with super glue, hot gun glue, a lighter, cotton wool buds, pits of cork, and gig dust. A Stanley blade for treating warped reeds. I used to do the humidifier thing, but I just make sure I've dried the reed nowadays. A decent flat tip screwdriver is essential. Understand how your sax works, and you'll be able to fix problems on the fly. If your top F pad falls out, you can't play. Non sax players won't understand this, so glue!

    I would like a video on recording for personal use. Pretty much everyone wants to do this at some point. Microphones, daws, recording software and how to equalize

    Please do a video on in ear monitor FOR GIGGING set up for us saxophonists please!

    Depending what sound system is being used where you are giging, a set of in ear monitors might be handy. I also carry a portable stand light for those darker gigs.

    The mouthpiece is stored in the bam case, there’s a place for it, (at least on the tenor)

    I find the sax harness by "Gemini" is by far the best if you have a long gig.

    Really nice video. I’m currently experimenting with (guitar)effects for my sax. Personally it was quite a struggle to get the right gear. Could you maybe do something on Sax effects in the future? I currently run: Radial Vocoloco (preamp), TC Electronics Plethora X5 (multi effect) and Meris LVX (delay) on my pedal board. Would love to hear your tips!

    Think you could throw in a Key Leaves Gap Cap as well.

    • @KeyLeaves
      @KeyLeaves 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      'Case shoulder strap breaks on way to gig, horn falls to ground, GapCap protected the sax so well it played he whole gig fine.' That is road tested truth we received from several gigging artists.

    Also, SH Woodwind, who wrote the Haines manual and understands saxes mechanically as well as anyone recommends Zippo fuel for cleaning pads. Powder long term will keep sticking, you need to get the residue off.

    the little commentary at the start about the phone gesture has always been so odd to me.
    the older half of gen z still use that, but the younger half use the "slap yourself" flat hand gesture
    and I seem to be riiight in the center of it bc all my friends use the old style, but it seems like everyone else uses the new one

    I'm going to say it, 3 of these things aren't essential for gigs at all. They're essential for just playing Saxophone.
    If you've practiced saxophone enough that you feel you're now at the level that you're prepared to gig you should have already worked out if the Neckstrap that came with your Sax is good enough for hours and hours of practice. I fail to see how it's more important now that you're doing gigs.
    Likewise with Reeds, if you want to get the most out of them so they last longer whilst your practicing and good reed case is recommended.
    Finally cleaning your sax is something that you should do after you play your saxophone every time not just now that you're doing gigs.

    • @saxworldwide
      @saxworldwide  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely. It's not our intention to say that these items are only recommended if you play gigs!
