Agnetha (blonde singer) &
Björn (guitarist songwriter)
Benny (pianist songwriter) &
Anni Frida (brunette singer)
Agnetha & Björn married in 1971, with two Young childrens
Benny and Frida married in 1978, withouth own childrens
both couples separated before the breakup of ABBA in 1982:

The lyrics is a fiction about a divorce,
it is not about Their real life,
although it is obviously influenced by Their own experiences
and the realization of the legal divorce between Agnetha & Björn in the middle of 1980,
even though They were no longer a couple or lived together more than a year and half ago, at the end of 1978
In fact, the song was more nearly in time to the split of Benny & Frida as a couple, only a few months later

Björn, on guitar, wrote the lyrics in an emotional and drunken hour. He denied it for years, but later admitted getting emotional thinking about their divorce - to Agnetha, who is singing. When he showed her the song, she cried. Not a literal song, but the emotion is real and vivid. Abba wrote about the pains and struggles of relationships - which made the resonate around the world, and still do.
I can't remember their names but she was married to the guitar player and he divorced her. I feel the sadness in her voice as this song brings up memories.
