🚆 Among the proposed railways in Cebu, two lines have a serious investor already. It will be a monorail service.
🚆 Submitted by Davao businessman Dennis Uy’s Udenna Infrastructure Corp., the unsolicited proposal involves building an P80 billion monorail system in Cebu.
🚆 The monorail will traverse Cebu City all the way to the Mactan-Cebu International Airport in Lapu-Lapu City for its first phase. The second phase will run from Talisay City to Mandaue City, while the third phase will be from Carcar City to Danao City.
MRT Lines for Metro Cebu total length 96.6 km with 50 stations 🚉 🚉🚉
🔹️Lines are divided into 4 (Central Line, Mactan Line, North & South).
🔹️According to JICA studu (Japan International Cooperation Agency) an MRT system must be introduced to Cebu by 2020.
🔹️The MRT for Metro Cebu was studied together with a metropolitan land use plan so as to promote urban growth in the metropolis
🔹️ The proposed routes are divided into several phases taking demand and construction cost into account.
🔹️ The draft for the whole MRT system in Metro Cebu has a total of 96.6 kilometers and 50 stations in total.
MRT NORTH LINE - Danao City to Liloan (24.7 km) est budget cost ($1.3 Billion)
MRT CENTRAL LINE - Consolacion-Talisay City (21.2 km) est budget cost ($1.7 Billion)
MRT SOUTH LINE - Minglanilla-Carcar City
(29.2 km) est budget cost ($1.8 Billion)
MRT MACTAN LINE- Cebu City-Lapu-Lapu City (21.5 km) est budget cost ($1.7 Billion)

All these talks & plans about railway system, we the people of Cebu want actions and results that could be built asap, not 10 yrs later, but sooner to ease traffic congestion.

@@boypalanyag2325 I guess they priority first to finish the carbon market buildings, Srp area roads, etc; Gov Gwen Garcia already announced to transfer Capitol to Balamban, because on the billboard posted about train project (you will see it around Osmeña st) starting point is the location of capitol building, I think they will used it as a terminal. They are still negotiating for the residential lots at Balamban where the new capitol is. So I guess the new capitol must be done first before they proceed to train projects

This should ve implemented quick, while it's still easy to build around metro cebu. Cebu should not end up like the fate of Manila where projects like this is very challenging to build due to congestion

The procurement for the construction of the P16.5 billion Cebu Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project has already been approved and will start next week. Its construction will start in April 2021 and it is targeted to partially operate before the year ends.
The P77.57 billion Cebu Monorail is also expected to partially operate before the year ends and that Cebu is included in the areas set for the implementation of a cable car system.
All of these are seen to ease traffic congestion in the Province which provide support to the ongoing efforts of the Cebu Provincial Government.

Great to see the emphasis shifting toward rapid rail transport. We need to see many more rail lines and less road building. The only way we will shift our over reliance on cars is if we follow the lead of Singapore and build a mass rapid transport system that is well designed, operated and maintained efficiently and is widespread. Add to that heavy govt discouragement of vehicles by COE, taxation and limited vehicle life-scale and we will be well on the way to a more efficient country and a less polluted country.
It should have started already when traffic was still light and easy to move around. I can only imagine if all goes back to normal and we have this mega project hanging around the city. I guess we have to stay on a WFH setup much longer. 🙂😁

I went to Osmenya round about there is no construction build from and to Mactan International airport The bridge where new SM is located is not done yet.
Please..Hopefully soon..traveling within Metro Cebu as well as going to Mandaue and neighboring city is already a stressful thing to do due to traffic..It sucks! 😢😭

I hope the governor, mayors of the link city areas must invest. These will give a boost to our economy and add a financial capability to their offices. The more projects the more they will be getting more money. This will be an interesting part that will make Cebu great. This is a winning projects to grow better with assurances. There will be no losses as the operations of trains are digitally in place.
First you have to transfer the South Terminal to SM-Seaside. You will immediately reduce the volume of traffic to and from Mambaling area which is the chalkpoint. Big buses will ease the traffic from Cebu city terminal to Mambaling. North terminal be transferred to Mandaue, Fernan bridge area.

To construct 12 lanes up to 16 lanes highway is possible by using seaside area as reclaim viaduct fro Santander to BOGO. Then tunnelling mountainous area. In another country there are also hotels,houses along thetunnel road. This is prparation for year 2050.

Some people may view these projects as awesome and outstanding but the authorities are still studying these and hopefully will start constructing. This really needs cooperation and patience of the people. And of course, the heavy budget for these projects. Kulang ata kalahating bilyong dito pero worthy nman.

Not definite yet. NEDA has sat on it because it is for Cebu. If only these projects are placed under local PPP program, they might get done now. Because in local PPP projects, the private investors will build it with local governments as partner. This way, approval is quick and easy because they don't go through NEDA, ICC and President for approval anymore. One example is the CCLEX which is currently built. The private investor only submitted their proposal to the mayors and local councils Cebu City and Cordova for approval and voila! They built it right away. Next local PPP project in Cebu City is the Carbon Public Market which was won by Megawide. They submitted the proposal to Cebu City council way back early last year and was approved last January 12 and by March, they will start the ground works. You see how fast the project if placed under local PPP because they skip the bureaucratic process with national PPP projects.

I think the Cebu economy will rise up rapidly if these will be owned by the govt.The govt needs money to finance the continuing infrastractures, for health, education and others. The gov needs to finance the project not to private companies. Anyway, tickets are purchased to machines and there be no human interventions. If this is the way, there will be no corruptions. Imagine people will realized a true economy and benefit the whole country. Ph should little by little inject a business that will be owned by the people. Cebu city's income class is considered 1st city income class. As a whole(as a province) it has a total asset of P 203.9 billion, pumapangalawa ang batangas with 20.79 billion(not even close). It's the richest province in the entire Philippines for Pete's sake. 🤣
