This was revealed Tuesday by the Department of Transportation (DOTr), which held bilateral talks with counterparts from Russia during the 31st Association of Southeast Asian Nations Summit.

Isa rin sa mga hindi alam ng marami sa atin na kaya PNR ang pinangalan ng railroad system natin kesa sa Manila Railroad ay dahil sa Japanese National Railways. Super lapit natin noon sa pagiging electric na Alstom na ang binibiling locomotive ng Pilipinas, hindi GE. Sayang di nagtagal yung Alstom dito hanggang mga last year.
Ng dahil sa Aquino yan kaya naging bulok ang ating bansa ngayon dahil punong puno ng kurakot!!

Agree. Pwede naman nilang ibigay yung mga buses and cooperate with jeepney operators para maging city buses na sila while merging with the companies na magma-manage ng railway line. Medyo dapat nating i-phase out yung mga sasakyan since limited ang area lupa sa Pilipinas unlike US. My province, Ifugao, will benefit from this project. It will only take us an hour and a half to travel by jeep from Lagawe to Bayombong where we can have a quick train ride to Metro Manila. This is a great project which I hope would take off and not just a sketch at the drawing board.

This project and other projects can be accelerated once we open up our economy to more foreign investments. The current restrictions makes it hard to implement projects outside metro manila. Most of the infra projects involves NCR.

This, the Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge, the Bulacan International Airport, the NSCR, the Metro Manila Subway, the MRT 7, the LRT 1 Cavite Extension, all the elevated expressways project, the further extending of SLEX, the Cebu Railway Projects, the Cebu Expressways, the Mindanao Expressways, the Mindanao Railway Project, the Panguil Bay Bridge, and the Samal Bay Bridge; all of this are considered as "game changers", for now. As I can see, if all of this are finished, business transactions, trading of goods, and travel between our works and families will be much faster and more convenient than before. Also our tourism would drastically improve, automatically. Folks, Skyway stage 3 is just the beginning in terms of fast travel here in Metro Manila. All of this would be possible if we continuously support our government on building this kind of infrastructures. For the sake of our convenience and much faster travels. Looking forward ako sa mga matatapos na proyekto at mga iba pang dadating na projects sa hinaharap. Go Philippines!! We can do this!! Keep supporting, look forward, and godbless us all !!

Anyways, mabuti nang madevelop masyado ang Luzon para mabilis ang pagtaas ng real estate price at bibilhin rin naman ng mga Chinese ang mga housing units. It's the reality happening in Greater Manila land developments. Lalong tataas ang presyo dahil sa Chinese speculators hanggang di na makaafford ang pasosyal na middle class. Add in worst city planning without proper waste disposal and sewage treatment facilities.

Ilang representatives ang meron kayo sa Luzon? That's the reason most of the budget would go to Luzon congressional districts. More developments in Mega Manila means more Filipino migration towards the said area- for employment, business, education and social welfare.
More population entails additional congressional districts with another set of representatives.
Even though the current president looked tyrannical, he doesn't have the entire national power to boost development in Mindanao. Count Luzonese legislators in the Senate and Lower House, they're more than Visayas and Mindanao combined.

Make Mega Manila a concrete jungle. Suffer from heat island effect due to high percentage of paved surfaces, lack of trees and insane use of heat-producing aircon. Sana magkaubusan kayo ng tubig at patuloy ang land subsidence ng Metro Manila dahil sa mataas na groundwater usage.

Gov't planners shouldn't stop at just Tuguegarao, for economic viability. It should go on to the northernmost area of Cagayan Valley (maybe Claveria), or even onto the northernmost part of Ilocos (probably Pagudpud).

....funny, how the historic pictures, taken whilst the Philippines was a protectorate of the United States, show a working railways system and now, when the Philippines is independent and responsible for the maintenance, the whole system has crumbled........also, why are all those "documentaries" that are talking about the new development project, using pictures of High Speed Railway Systems used in Japan or Europe, when we all should understand, that all we will get here in the Philippines, is a slow train system!!......
To be honest, I think the Japanese invasion is also to blame. since if you aren't aware our country used to be 2nd most richest country in Asia just behind Japan in early 1900's. and Manila at that time is prosperous and well manage city and most of our country's income or GDP were coming from Manila since most of rich folks were settling and living there. but not until the devastating war between Americans and Japanese happened. but of course, we can't do anything about that now, damage had already been done. I wish in the future, we can bring back the old glorious of Manila and Philippines again.

This is one of the discussion raised in the 31st ASEAN Summit with Russian-Philippine government to financed the North Rail Lines, but its unfortunate that NEDA-ICC just place it on the table, plus bus operators lobbyist oppose this project in Congress and Senate which affects their businesses. DOTr. Sec. Tugade knew that it will spur economic growth not only to Nueva Ecija, Cagayan and Ilocos Norte but to the entire Region 1 & 2, it will ease the the transport of PALAY, SIBUYAS, BAWANG to Greater Metro Manila. Tourism industry will be more vibrant as it will unlock those potential tourist spots in Northern Luzon thus creating more jobs to local communities.

Yes dapat meron talaga railways dyan kasi sila ang source sa agriculture para mas ma padali ang pag taas ng economy natin malaki ambag nila sa economy, pag dating sa mga gulay prutas at rice nila dyan sa Ilocos. Madali nalang pag transport ng mga gulay satin at sa iba't ibang lugar sa bansa ❤️
