Nona, thanks for sharing this story with us. My mother passed when I was 13 and she was addicted to alcohol and so we didn’t have the mother daughter relationship I desired. She was loving towards her children. I never had a god mother or mentor. As a girl now a woman, there were things I had to learn on my own. I loved hearing about your relationship between you and your god mother. I’m now a mentor for young women that God put in my path. It’s truly a blessing to be used by God to pour into the young women and provide them with a safe loving space to be themselves without judgement.
