I think underconsumption and minimalism is fine as long as you apply it in a way that makes sense. It’s still okay to buy newer things if old belongings break of course as long as you can afford it. I’ve been getting recommended by many content creators on videos like this and doom spending to where I might make a couple of them myself to mix things up. I do mostly gaming content but I’ll make some random videos here and there. Decluttering feels so good and even just getting things to keep yourself more organized like small carts with organizers (I have one in my bedroom and one in my living room that my PS5 stands on) helps out a lot. When I upgrade on something I ask myself, “Does the price justify the upgrade?” When you mentioned your phone I’m actually on an 8 Plus, owned it for four years and getting myself a major upgrade to a 15 but as I do with everything else I pay things upfront and outright. I’ve never paid monthly payments on a car and I don’t mess around with Buy Now Pay Later nonsense.
Totally agree! I’ve always been on the side of if you can’t afford it in the moment you shouldn’t be spending the money on it! Were all definitely guilty of sometimes buying things we don’t need - the best thing we can do is be conscious about our spending and consider wether we actually need things or how much use we’ll get out of things when we’re purchasing them! That way we’ll be benefiting our own life’s by having less clutter, and benefitting the planet by not feeding into overconsumption!

That is very true, less waste is produced the less people spend on things they don’t need or can’t afford.
