So I started mine as well. With check engine light on, engine light on and (Red) Stop engine light on Dash. I am monitoring this event, the REGEN symbol comes on dash every 9 seconds. I pray this goes well and the system does what it needs to do. So I can carry on with my day. Update: REGEN process lasted 14 mins for mine. It did take away the Check engine light off and RED engine light off. All that is left is the blinking REGEN that still blinks. Once Rpm’s came back down to normal. I did shut off engine (I thought it might want me to do a REGEN again, maybe the 1st one wasn’t enough) but it won’t let me restart another parked REGEN. So I have the engine on, AC running cause it’s hot out here in MO waiting for Monday to come around. Hopefully truck will be okay with it.

You can't have your foot on any pedal. Bring the coolant temp to 150, Put in Neutral, cycle Parking Brake, take feet Off pedals and Hold down Regen until it begins to raise idle.
For manual trans: Park the vehicle in a safe place away from any trash or building. Get temperature over 150, getting to 170 is better. Put truck into Reverse gear, then back into Neutral. Cycle the Parking Brake for Tractor, by taking the Parking Brake Off (white brake pushed IN), then ON (white tab pulled OUT). Take feet OFF all pedals, leave in Neutral with Parking brake for Truck ON, THEN hold down the Regen Button until the RPMS raise up by itself...it IS now in Regen mode. Do not touch anything until the Truck comes OUT of this Regen Mode on its OWN. The rpms will lower and the truck is finished. Now, remember that the truck IS still very HOT at this point, because the truck while in Regen gets over 1,000 degrees to burn off caked up SOOT. Be extremely careful. Truck will need time to cool the DPF system. If you have a check light or MiL light, wait awhile and cycle the Key 3 times OFF and On without starting the truck. Take your time to cycle, then on the 4th time you can start the vehicle. This will reset the truck.

It may take more than one Regen to bring your DPF Soot Level low enough to turn OFF the Check Eng and MIL light, (solid Amber light). If your temperatures are not reaching a high enough level (over 1000 degrees) than there are other issues, such as soot blockage in 7th injector, DEF Valve blockage, or DPF Filters damaged. These are not the only reasons, there are much more. To know that you are reaching a high enough temperature, while in Regen mode WITHOUT a computer, you should smell the burning SOOT in the Air. Your co driver sounds like a piece of work. You should slap the taste out of his mouth and tell him that you think that that's funny. If he breaks the truck and you miss a day of work that's money out of your pocket.

Turn the truck off, wait 10 seconds, then restart. Then immediately try a manual regen.
I had a red engine light and orange engine light on and my truck allowed me to do a regen so jus try it anyway
I have both orange engine lights on plus the stop engine light and it let me do it. 2019 truck

This works for Manual transmission also.

Now, remember that the truck IS still very HOT at this point, because the truck while in Regen gets over 1,000 degrees to burn off caked up SOOT. Be extremely careful. Truck will need time to cool the DPF system.
