Georgia LBs and DBs ARE NOT A&M LBs and DBs. Gibson has the build and strength to be a great blocker. I hope he is being trained to DO that.
When I rewatched the Georgia game, I saw Texas OL being driven back into the pocket limiting or even disrupting Quinn's movements. Collapsing pocket means so room to move..

Nobody is talking about the fact that we would have outscored Georgia 24-7 in the second half had we had the luxury of kicking FG’s. The offense figured it out in the second half to a degree, we just didn’t have time to not go for it on 4th down. They weren’t bum rushing the QB in the second half like they did the first half, PLUS we didn’t have running back figured out at the time.
UGA's motivation will not only be trying to earn a 1st round bye, but also the fact they lost last year's SEC championship game to Bama. I'm sure Kirby will remind them of that
Why would Texas be playing at Penn st or ND if they don't win the SEC CG? Texas should be the top non conference champion, especially if it's a close game, and get that coveted 5 seed. They have a better resume than anyone, and the committee needs to commit to not punishing loses in conference title games if they don't want teams trying to game the system
I'm not bashing or trolling, but Texas definitely does NOT have the best resume. Georgia ended up with the #1 most difficult regular season schedule of anyone in the country. Texas actually ended up with one of the weakest resumes of any of the top 7 contending playoff teams. If Texas Texas loses to UGA, I would be surprised to see them get anything above the 7 seed.

They beat teams that beat Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, etc. No one else has the resume on the field for the 5 seed if they don't win this. Also, the committee has to not punish losing a CCG since that would cause playoff bound teams to try to game not playing in them. This game only counts for auto bid.

I will give you that Texas did undisputedly beat Michigan, and Michigan pulled off the upset against Ohio State. Notre Dame will get the 5 seed because they are at #4 in the AP poll. Notre Dame can't be seeded any higher than that because they do not belong to 1 of the 4 major conferences. They are independent. If Texas drops this game, Tennessee or Ohio State are likely to become the 6th seed, which leads me to believe that Texas will likely come in around the 7th seed if they lose to UGA. Texas definitely could get the 6th seed because they did beat Michigan, and Ohio State did not. The 6th seed is definitely possible. The 2 biggest wins for Texas in the regular season are against Texas A&M and Michigan. Ultimately, Texas will likely still get in, but like I said, probably at 7, but the 6th seed is definitely possible. If Georgia loses in the conference game, they will be lucky to enter the playoffs as the 9 or 10 seed.

Good discussion. Texas will be going for its first SEC championship (I know it has a ton in the old SW conference), and Georgia will be going for its 15th SEC championship. That doesn't sound like much, but there's been a lot of parity in the SEC for decades and the championships are spread out. Georgia is currently second with 14 titles, behind Bama with 30. Tennessee is third with 13, LSU has 12, Florida and Auburn have 8, Ole Miss has 6. Go Dawgs.
Texas has a great defense (improved all year Long), a very good offensive line (improved throughout the year), now we have a very good running back (huge improvement throughout the year), very good receivers, great coaching. Quinn is surrounded by excellence and has the potential to bring it all down. He probably is worse than last year? No improvement.

Regardless of the outcome of the SEC conference game, Texas should feel good and be grateful that they are now in the best conference in the country. I'm happy that Texas is in the SEC because I have a lot of respect for Texas football and Texas now being in the SEC will only push Texas harder and help develop the team into something really special and difficult to beat. I just hope the fans learn how to handle success and defeat (without throwing temper tantrums) in such a deep and strong conference.
