Alma still sold her daughters to powerful families in the community, still abused her son, and then abused her grand daughter. I feel like Casita allowed Mirabel to take the candle because she was tired of watching her family abuse Bruno and Mirabel in her walls. Papa Pedro would be pissed at Alma. Hes probably the butterfly wings protecting Mirabel in part 1.
Also, if you notice when she throws the candle, you see, it’s reflected in the Grandma‘s eyes, not her specifically so it could mean that the Grandma only thinks about the candle or the magic not her family or her specifically
What really gets to me about Mirabel’s song, at least this one, is that she doesn’t even seem to want to do this, but feels like she has to since the magic was being used in a toxic manner by Abuela. I think that’s what she means when she asks “Is my freedom an illusion?” She is asking herself did I really have no choice but to go this far or was it really a choice that I made out of my own free will.
Not a moth, a butterfly. The butterfly in Encanto represents Mirabel and her ability to choose whether to save or destroy. In this version of things, she no longer feels like there's a choice, so the butterfly burns
i think the candle represents her family and shes the moth. no matter how much are family can hurt us it can be hard to pull away from them. in one scene it shows the moth fine by the candle i think this shows mirabels choice to take away her families power not only the blessing but also the power dynamic they had they are now the same and they can no longer hurt her and in the end she might have more power than them.
OKI know a little bit more about my situation So in the movie Butterflies represent hope Maribel is also supposed to be the hope which is why she has butterflies on her clothes But in this case The Mirabelle and hope We're separated No Maribel represents the flame on the candle And the butterfly representing the hope It basically signifies that now that Mirabel has gone down this path, the hope is dead
I find it interesting that even till the end, as Mirabel showed all her emotions, pain, loneliness, and abandonment, her grandmother’s eyes were still only focused on the candle still not paying attention to her, not looking at her face to see the damage she caused her but caring about the candle more over her till the end
Sorry to bother you sir but I've noticed you've skipped one of Lydia's songs which is the part 2 to Rapunzel's villain song will you be listening to it anytime soon also P.S I love your content
Whenever I saw the butterfly to the candle thing I saw it more as how turn on the family hurt her the family being the candle and the in the butterfly beat her
Hi Dave, I really enjoyed your reaction. Have you thought about reacting to Lydia the bard's "Holding out for a hero"? It gave me chills, you might also enjoy it.

Did you notice that the candle flame was red? It means Mirabel now controls the candle
@@eddog6666 Or she would have if she didn't destroy it.

Right as Mirabel crushes the broken candle a corrupted piano cord plays. It gives the momentum a haunting Aura and basically the final blow.
I thought the candle was an analogy to how she’s been burned by her family. But burning herself analogy is interesting

@@N-Possible Nice analysis and also true

I highly recommend you check out her original song “Afraid of Quiet.” It’s such a great song!

I've been watching Lydia the Bard for a little bit, and her stuff is incredible! I'm glad you reacted to her! Thank you!

Dude, I LOVE your insight on the song
Whenever I saw the butterfly to the candle thing I saw it more as how turn on the family hurt her the family being the candle and the in the butterfly beat her
If you want to listen to another of her songs, she made a few originals one i think you'd like is seven seconds to break down
