It's not an attack when the person who is making the claim is questioning the validity of his accomplishments when his own accomplishments come on the backs of others. If McCoy never "won" those rings with Brady and Reid, he wouldn't make such a preposterous claim that Reid is a better coach than him and the GOAT.

James Jones is right Andy Reid had TO, Donovan McNabb, Westbrook, Brian Dawkins and more and still didnt win a championship until Patrick Mahomes. I mean they went head to head in Superbowl 39, and he lost. Not saying he hasnt been the best recently. But for Shady to say they didnt fear the Patriots defense but basically never beat them when he played for the Bills. It just makes Shady sound like a hater. You can give Bill his credit as a great coach that doesnt take away from any other coach.

For just about the entire run he started in 2000
he literally crafted the roster each year they lost too. BB was there when the patriots were winning or losing, but when TB was there, they were only winning.
Brady was able to win with a lot of "bum" rosters on offense though. Brady covered up for a lot, which allowed Bill to put together some good defenses. And even then, Bill never really crafted some all-time, ALL-TIME defenses.
James Jones be cooking Shady with facts. TB12 is a great QB but to act like he was coaching and developing the whole team like Shady do is wild. Plus Shady was on two teams that won Superbowls that he didn’t partake in except wipe down equipment.
Hey - ask how many would take those 2 SB's to round out their careers - even if they did not play in them? Shady is STILL a first ballot hall of famer, no matter if you like it or not.

Shady can sweat as much as he wants, but the two coaches are ultimately in the same boat as far as history goes, only Andy has fewer championships than Bill.

Joy has the best take. It is a team sport. Obviously Tom Brady was phenomenal. But, as we are seeing with Mahomes this year, you can be the greatest player in the world, but if you don't have good players around you, you cannot do it all by yourself. Tom and Bill were great together. Yes Tom won a Superbowl with the Bucs, but he also had a lot of good players around him. If he didn't do you think he would have won that Superbowl. Probably not because he didn't win the next year.

People forget when Brady got injured in 2008 in the first game of the season. Their backup quarterback was Matt Castle. Bill Bellichick went 11-5 with Matt Castle. They didn’t make the playoffs that year but they still went 11-5 in 2008. So with that being said. I think Bill Belichick had something to do with those championships.
But they were undefeated the season before, the core of the team was still intact. Randy Miss and Wes Welker, beside Matt was in that system for a while. Look what what happened to Matt after the Patriots.

Bill also disguised coverages, they would come out in zone and switch to man. Or blitz heavy look then drop back to zone. Goff struggled reading the defense all game. Shady's take is pure cap. For the first 3 SB, Brady couldn't carry so they were defensive led superbowls with otherworldy clutch play from Brady to close things out when necessary. If Reed had Brady in that time, Brady would likely never have seen the field since he could not have done what Andy Reed wanted at the time scoring wise and Andy Reed wouldn't have coached a defense that shut down the greatest show on turf.
Belichick was 5-13 before Brady. In 2001, Brady takes over and goes 14-3 SB MVP and probowler. Next year, Brady leads the NFL in TDs. Year later Brady wins his second SB MVP throwing over 350 yards and 3TDs scoring over 30 points in a shoot out.
Brady’s first 3 Superbowls are better than Mahomes’ three career Superbowls. Yall act like Brady threw 100 yards a game with 0TDs and was mediocre. After three year, Brady was viewed as one of the best of the era.

Also don’t forget that Cassel went 10-5 taking over Brady’s 18-1 Pats and missed the playoffs. Also, let’s not forget Cassel only beat 1 team over .500 outside his division all year with arguably the greatest team ever, the 2007 Pats. And they won because it was a blizzard game vs a passing team.
Liars like Nicholas always bring up the Matt Cassell 11-5 season, without adding the context that they missed the playoffs, that team was perfect the year before with Brady so 11--5 sounds good but it's a huge downgrade, AND they had a very weak schedule that year. Andy Reid is better at making player personnel decisions and drafting better talent. Belichick has gotten so much out of his players. Reid's one Hall of Fame receiver he's had, so far is Terrell Owens and he was a free agent/trade signing. Tyreek will go into the hall when he's done.
The Patriots went to the playoffs the first year after Brady left. Mac Jones was doing well. Also, he had a ton of players who abstained from playing because of COVID. Belichick's downfall was poor drafting and player personnel decisions.
2020 was rough year, they made the playoff in 2021 but by that point all of the great players on the team were either old or all but retired. Granted he's had misses in the last couple of drafts but as much as we scoff at the Cole Strange 1st round pick in 2022 we have to applaud the Mike Onwenu 6th round pick from 2020.

The main knock(s) on Bill Belichick is the drafting choices the last 10 years and the 'cupboard' was empty the last 2 or so years of Tom Brady.

You almost can’t compare because Lombardi coached such a different game. Football was way simpler but so much was built off that foundation. It’s like comparing the architect of the pyramids to the one of the Empire State Building.

Belichick is the greatest defensive mind ever. What's also a fact is that Patriots would have fired him after 2001 season if Bledsoe never got hurt. Bill deserves a lot of credit for then sticking with Brady instead of Bledsoe, because in 2001 very few thought that to be a wise decision, yet it proved to be one of the best decisions ever, second only to drafting Brady. Belichick needed Brady to win all these games and championships, without him he would have never won anything, showcased by the fact that without Brady he's 18 games below .500 as a head coach. Patriots were disciplined and well coached, no doubt, and Belichick deserves a lot of credit for that, but without Brady he's nothing and that's a FACT. Hence he cannot be the greatest coach of all time, because he has a terrible record without Brady. I believe Vince Lombardi to be far and away the greatest coach ever, because before he arrived in Green Bay, Packers were the worst team in the league, and he transformed that team into one of the greatest dynasties ever. Green Bay was called "title town," because they won the championship every other year while Lombardi was their coach
I'm glad JJ slammed the door on Shady's nonsense about Belichick. Not because Belichick didn{t need Brady, but because Reid consistly underachieved before Mahomes. Period, the end. And often beat himself by poor game management, like not running the rock when he needed to in the post season.

Saying he didnt develope players, Ignores the 2nd string QBs that went to other teams, and became starters to help kick off their appearances in the playoffs and Championships, or the players nobody wanted because of their antics, and he brought them in and showed them the Patriot way. The number of Super Bowls he won with great defenses, and Championships won by only 3 or 4 points.
Reid also had pro bowl level QBs to help his wins, Brett Favre, Donovan McNabb, Michael Vick, Alex Smith, and Patrick Mahomes.
Belicheck, even with the most recent losing seasons has a better lifetime record and playoff record, 31-10 (75% win) vs 22-15 (59% win - 24% losing vs 40% losing playoff record.

When I first started watching this show, I didn't care for Jones. But my initial opinion was very wrong. He is reasonable, intelligent, and respectful to his cohosts in his disagreements.
Shady gets way to emotional and heated in his disagreements.
People really out here ignoring the fact that Brady got carried and bailed out by some of those defenses. Including his tamp bay defense that shut down mahomes.
