Hi All and thanks a bunch for watching todays video on How to get around Brisbane without a Car - This includes all Public Transport Options around Brisbane. I think it depends on the city sometimes too. I found Tokyo amazing for public transport. Their metro system was the best I've seen. I like the free options and passes for tourists...just makes it a little easier. The scooters were really fun, but expensive for a one off thing... the passes are definitely better on that but you have to watch you don't go over 90 mins... so planning is key. Thanks for watching guys 👍
Thank you. I'm planning our holidays to Brisbane and surrounding areas and have already watched several videos. Finally I got from your videos what I was looking for on information. I will also check for glasshouse mountains, Tamborin, Byron bay and Ballina. 😊👍
I enjoyed my time watching your videos on getting around Brisbane. Thank you Would love to see more of your services for other areas of Queensland like Gold Coast or further up like Gladstone or Townsville and there’s nothing for disabled travellers Have a great day
Hi Amanda, thanks for your comment. I'm looking at filming a "Brisbane to Gold Coast Public Transport Video" soon and "getting around the Gold Coast", so stay tuned. I was scheduling to film this week but the weather hasn't been good, so I'll have to try and get there sometime this month.
Thank you so much. I really appreciated your clear and informative explanations! Including about the buttons, its an overlooked but obvious thing to point out.
Thanks so much for watching and glad you found the value. Public Transport in any capital city can be daunting and wanted this to help people out when visiting ! Cya next time :)
Hey Chris this was such an informative video. There are so many options to get around. If we ever make it to Brisbane we will have to watch it again to plan everything out. How cool there is a free ferry service!
Hey guys....I think research all this I wasn't aware of so many options. I new about the free ferry but not the bus. Must admit the bus is not my favorite mode of transport but I'll do it if I have to....lol. Not my normal at me of video but I wanted to do it for my local blogs and extra value when telling people to visit somewhere... I'll see how it goes. Maybe you should do one like this for getting around St Pete 👍😁
@@AquariusTraveller we are the same way about the bus. It is nice that there is a bus option but it can take quite a while. I would think your video would do well long term, many people are curious about transportation options and I really do think it is very helpful. That is actually a great suggestion 😁 We have had some comments asking about getting around. St Pete is in the process of adding a rapid transit bus system that will run between downtown and the beach. We are hoping to highlight that when it is up and running!
@@Explorcation great ...I look forwarding to seeing it. Yes, I see the benefits long term and adding value to my blogs as well as TH-cam. I'm thinking about doing the same at the gold coast...being a high tourist zone
FANTASTIC! Brilliant Chris, so much information imparted there and superbly filmed and edited. And you've just exposed another of my flaws, I know absolutely NOTHING about public transport 🤣🤣 Oh well thank goodness for this video. Matt enjoyed his "stunt" riding. I think stardom beckons 👌
I have some plans coming up and expecting having knowledge about the public transport options in how to get around, will be handy - not to mention helpful on my Brisbane Based blogs! I don't tend to use Public Transport much these days, but use to train it into Brisbane every day for work. It helped a lot knowing that first and the rest kind of falls into place. I didn't know about the See Q card until a month ago doing my research...very handy for visitors! Stunt Riding...LOL. We both enjoyed the Scooters - They are a new way to get around and very convenient compared to walking! Matt gets forced to help me film sometimes - It's great he can find some fun in it......it was definitely a long, tiring day to film it all. Thanks for watching Bernie !
@@AquariusTraveller It turned out exceptionally well I thought. On the odd occasion you sounded as though you had had enough of speaking 🤭 The scooters are great value I reckon, though a bit longer than 90 minutes would be nice. Exciting times ahead for you then, well done 👌👏👏
@@adventurewithbernie you can use it more than 90 mins...but the charge is high. I think that just for the passes and for people that use it regularly to get from certain points.
Thanks for the feedback and glad you liked it. There are plenty of bike tracks around Brisbane... but do you have more details on where you want to go?
@@AquariusTraveller I'm looking to daily commute between my dorm around Buranda station and the University of Queensland. There doesn't seem to be a lot of dedicated bike tracks around that area, sadly, but I still would like to see if biking would be a good way to get around
You right... there are plenty of walking and bike tracks around that area but more so follow the river and most people use them for exercise. What you're trying to do is cross the river and I don't see a way around that without biking on the road. Obviously, it can be done but not sure i would like it during busy Brisbane traffic. Where we you now and do you ride in traffic there all the time ?
I believe you can do that now for a full adult fare but haven't tested it yet since I have a go card. It's something they have been putting in place for a while ...I see the machine around and hope to use it in filming another video soon 😁👍
Fro. What I know, these are only go card readers Your contactless card can be usrd in the big machines to top up the gocards or purchase a paper ticket.
@@AquariusTraveller i asked because in sydney it’s feasible to use any contactless card instead of opal, anyways thanks a lot for your response, i am traveling in feb so will clarify that with the station staff.
@@AquariusTraveller translink is looking at doing this in the next couple of years. they trialed it on the ferny grove train line in the 2nd half of 2022.
@@rroge5 Thanks for the heads up...much appreciated. Will probably take some time for things to go back to normal.... if at all. I almost came close to flooding my property in that one!
Are you talking about the public transport in general or a particular service? Overall, I think it's comparable to other aussie capital citys and still cheaper than hiring a car. Still, there are ways to make it cheaper using the free services or travelling out of busy work hours. It's almost half the cost during the day or on weekends :)
don't go there, the only true way to understand a cities public transport is by it's trains as the rest are just subsidiary (trains carry much more), sorry but Brisbane has the worst: (Brisbane) Runcorn 30min / Sandgate 30 min (Melbourne) Batman 20min / Heidelberg 20min (Sydney) Punchbowl 15min / Warrawee 15min (Perth) Gosnells 15min / Butler 15min (no change, no express, middle of the day) (oh bus past my place(bris) one a hour) (busses are subject to need and fad - oh Perth busses work with the trains)
Sometimes I think so to... but got down to the gold coast the other day for $20 return when I can't even do that to get to airport.... the free services can be good too 😁

If you got a spare 4 hours travel nearly impossible !!!!!!!!! maybe narrow it down to Brisbane metro
While I filmed in the City to show all the options, It's not just for the Metro Area
Why is it so expensive?

Compared to where? In most of Europe the fares were about twice the price, it's quite cheap in Brisbane comparatively. And they're going to 50c soon!
