  • The Aoniyoshi is a refurbished Kintetsu 12200 series that were originally designed in the 1960s and 1970s. The train has four cars, and they have been renovated with purple exterior, with window-facing lounge seats, allowing you to enjoy the beautiful natural views of Japan.
    The walls and the carpet are also decorated with mandala-like patterns of birds and flowers called “Tenpyo”, which are also associated with Nara’s past as a capital city of Japan.
    In addition to its authentic design, the train is also equipped with free Wi-Fi connection, allowing you to stay mobile during the journey.

      Hi Jackie! Thank you for watching my video and for giving such positive feedback! With regards to your query, all seats in the Aoniyoshi train are reserved seats so you need to book your tickets in advance, or purchase at the station itself if there are still available seats. As far as I know, the Kyoto-Osaka route runs once a day only, so I am not sure if rebooking is possible if you miss your train. If that happens, I suggest you just take the JR line from Kyoto to Osaka which runs every few minutes.
      I hope I was able to answer your query. In case you haven't, I hope you can also consider subscribing to my channel for more useful travel videos. Thanks again! Enjoy your trip! 😊

    I purchased two tickets online for Kyoto(B01) → Kintetsu-Nara(A28) for 2 adults (1460 Yen total). When I depart from Kyoto station, I need to buy two more Limited Express tickets? And do I need to select the same boarding time as my reservation (11AM)?

      Hi! Thank you for watching my video and for visiting my channel. With regards to your query, since you have already booked your seats online, you would only need to buy the boarding tickets at the ticket machines. The choices in the ticket machines are by amount and not by boarding time, and so in your case, just choose 2 760yen tickets. You then use those 760yen tickets to enter the station.
      I hope I was able to answer your questions and help you in my own small way. In case you haven't, I hope you can also consider subscribing to my channel for more useful travel videos. Thanks again! Enjoy your trip! 😊

    So you need to book the ticket online and then at the station buy the express ticket (that is the ticket that lets you access the station). Is that correct?

    • @wheretonext1190
      @wheretonext1190  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Raffaela! Thank you for watching my video and for visiting my channel. With regards to your query, yes, you are correct. If you want to secure your seat of choice, it is best to book your ticket online. You can choose the type of seat and the car you like. Then you can just purchase the other ticket at the ticket machine when you arrive at the station. Alternatively, you can also purchase both tickets at the Kintetsu ticket counter. They would give you whatever seat is still available in the train.
      I hope I was able to answer your question and help you in my own small way. In case you haven't, I hope you can also consider subscribing to my channel for more useful travel videos. Thanks again! Enjoy your travel! 😊

    I’m confused here. If I bought a reserved seat ticket online. Do I still need to buy what ticket at the station? Why can’t I just buy all tickets and board the train with QR? I bought Nozomi green car online with reserve seat. I can just board the train with my QR. It is complicated for look of it.

    • @wheretonext1190
      @wheretonext1190  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Serena! Thank you for watching my video! With regards to your query, a basic fare ticket is necessary for all train travel in Japan. You use that ticket to enter the station. For regular trains, the basic fare ticket is enough. However, if you want to use limited express trains like the Aoniyoshi, you need to buy an additional limited express ticket. All seats in a limited express train are reserved seats. Unlike in regular trains, there are no unreserved seats in limited express trains. So to board a limited express train, you need a limited express ticket for your reserved seat (the one you bought online) in addition to a basic fare ticket which you can buy at the station.
      Also, if I may add, the Nozomi shinkansen and the Aoniyoshi Sightseeing train are operated by different companies. The Nozomi is under JR while Aoniyoshi is under Kintetsu. I guess that also explains the differences in how their tickets are handled.
      I hope I was able to answer your query and help you in my own small way. In case you haven't, I hope you can also consider subscribing to my channel for more useful travel videos. Thanks again! Enjoy your trip! 😊

    • @wheretonext1190
      @wheretonext1190  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Pamela! Thank you for watching my video! With regards to your query, the Kintetsu Rail Pass can only cover the basic fare ticket of this train. Since Aoniyoshi is a Limited Express Train, you still need to purchase a Limited Express ticket.
      To board Limited Express Trains like Aoniyoshi, two tickets are required: the basic fare ticket and the limited express ticket. If you have a Kintetsu Rail Pass, you then just need to buy a limited express ticket.
      I hope I was able to answer your query. In case you haven't, I hope you can also consider subscribing to my channel for more useful travel videos. Thanks again! Enjoy your trip! 😊

      Hi again! Thank you so much for appreciating my videos! I am really happy to know that they are helping you plan your trip to Japan. Yes, the train system in Japan can be quite overwhelming especially for first-time visitors, but once you've tried it and you get the hang of it, it will be very easy. You can try downloading the app Japan Transit Planner so you would know which trains to take, what lines, the platforms, and the time of departures. It will give you choices, like the fastest, easiest or cheapest way. As for the limited express trains, they cover train travel between cities, like Nagoya to Kyoto, or Nagoya to Osaka. If you are only travelling within a city, you can just use the regular commuter trains or subway.
      I hope the above information helps you. Do not worry too much. You will find Japan train travel easy once you've tried it. There are English signs all over most stations, and you can always ask the help of the railway staff too. Happy travels! 😊

      Hi Julito! Thank you for watching my video and for visiting my channel. With regards to your question, you need two tickets to ride this train. As far as I know, the limited express tickets for Aoniyoshi can be reserved and purchased online or at a Kintetsu station ticket counter. You can use your IC card though for the base fare - that is, to enter and exit the station.

      Hi again Julito! To answer your questions, this train stops at Osaka Namba station. It only runs the Kyoto-Osaka route once a day on weekdays, Saturdays and holidays. It has other schedules running between Kyoto and Nara, and Nara and Osaka though. For more details, you may refer to the following link.
