I scored a chocolate brown max mara studio coat out of wool (maybe it is vintage, I bought it second hand for 300$). It is stunning. I can only recommend to keep searching - the color is so pretty and versatile. It also look amazing with black in my opinion.
You know what’s crazy at first I was like nearly €7k for a coat (the C$10k one) but then someone spent that on a bag I would take so much less notice. It’s crazy what Chanel & Hermes have done to us
Ohhh I just checked, love the colour but def looking for 3/4 length. But fall items are trickling in, so I'll check back. Thank you for the suggestion❤
Try Joseph for coats, not crazy cash classic and good quality, I feel you! I have spent years looking for a bitter chocolate overcoat and agree Max Mara would really benefit from that colour as it’s so neutral 🌿
Great suggestion. I feel like J Crew in Canada (at least our website offering) is kind of meh right now. But will take a look closer to fall. Thank you for watching❤️
That Celine bag is so stunning. I'd love some items from Wardrobe NYC, their contour blazer and one of their wrap mini skirts. I'd also love a pair of black Chanel sling-backs and a floor length maxi pencil skirt in black or grey.
Hi , Mary . I wonder when you ordered product from fashionphile did you have to pay for import fee, tax, or delivery charge ? Sorry if I question you out of your title here . Please don't mind my English as this is my second langue .
I find that affordable brands like Zara and H&M (their premium range) usually do have 60 - 80 % wool options in their coat section every year and the quality is decent. My little sister bought a long coat from Zara in that exact color of chocolate brown years ago and it still looks great. Edit: Okay, I just watched all of the video, money clearly isn't an issue for you, never mind then ;)
Maybe it's just that I haven't checked out their clothing in a while, but I never had any luck with Zara outwear. I live in outerwear for many months of the year and they always pilled so easily on me. I want to try to find that in between, bc no way can I justify spending 8-10k on a coat right now. Thank you so much for watching❤️
@@MarysRoom I know what you mean, I had a camel coat from Zara that I absolutely loved the design of but I could only wear it one season because the pilling was awful. It wasn't a good mix of materials though and pretty cheap. I would gladly spend more if I found a version of that in a better quality. Other coats from them held up pretty well though, it's worth it to check the label first. Edit: I think the ones wehre the label says made in Portugal are usually quite good! Love your videos!
Yes I think that's my biggest annoyance. I'm trying to find the perfect balance of price, quality and warmth. Side note, for the first time this year I purchased a couple items from Massimo and was pleasantly surprised. They were made in Spain and Portugal and made of natural materials and found them in the sale. Thank you so much for watching!
I tried on the FW women's Saint Laurent coat last year..the maxi coats that dropped to the floor... absolutely stunning!! I wish I had $6000 to spend on a coat 😫
Great list Mary. I live in SF so no coat for me 😜 i was looking to get some neutral a line midi skirt, to wear with neutral Valentino body that i just purchased or cropped sweaters/tops , something similar to old Celine, but no luck. I dont really like anything, so looking on resale markets, to find something from previous collections. That Celine handbag is gorgeous. I think i need it . And those sunglasses on my list as well, but also not priority🤪. On Max Mara new collection. I love everything😂 a lot of things i can recreate, with things i already have, but the brown wide leg pants and one sleeve knit dress its on my list . Have a blessed day🙏❤️
SF truly has the best weather! Not boiling hot and its always nice. Ohh yes I think I know which Valentino body you're talking about. SS23 had some stunning nude looks. Old Celine is always a good pidea. Yes, its truly the best when we can just shop our own wardrobes and tweak it with new additions. Thank you so much for watching Giedre❤️
That ysl coat before the pandemic would have been half the price and found in the sales. It’s not just bags but rtw prices have soared. The Celine coat is beautiful but I’m sure also a fortune.
I have the men’s Celine Romy bag you mentioned. It’s a beautiful bag! The shorter handle is removable, although the shape of the bag looks better when using the shorter strap rather than the longer one in my opinion. It’s nice to have both options though.
Our style is VERY similar. Watching your preferences is so satisfying because I approve😅 but I was wondering... what website you were searching on around the 710 mark? I NEED to see those bags
Ahh thank you so much. Sometimes I feel really niche sharing these lists, but so glad to find like-minded friends :) It's resee, such a gem, not sure why no one talks about it, but I love that they have amazing Old Celine stock.
The Celine Romy Bag does come in black and gold for womens. The mens is in Silver. I own the large Romy Bag in the tan color and love it....has worn well and definitely very easy to use.
The cool chocolate brown just feels like it would make the look. Just like the Xandros Twill Coat from The Row. I'm honestly waiting to snag the coat come fall. along from The Row i've been looking on the preloved market to find the elusive leather 11 backpack. I've missed my chances a few times, but got lucky with snaggy a Nylon 11 backpack. The bag came like new, but it doesn't help that this fall they are reintroducing the leather 11 backpack. Honestly at that price I'd rather wait on the preloved or just a buy a new outfit.
Eeeee obviously hopefully I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the 16 is the one you’ve already gone for😍😍😍… however can ABSOLUTELY see you with the Romy and of course the Margaux!! Ugh but of course the tri-fold bag would be literally perfection for you and your lifestyle 😍😍😍😍 I’m doing literally the same thing… crossing my fingers I score a Philo bag from the first release but also thinking the backup option will be either to get the 2017 Clasp bag you have in brown or the 2018 purse clutch in camel or dark chocolate as an homage to Phoebe Philo and hope to then go for a bag once the hype dies down after the first drop 😂
Your love for the 16 and the Row in general have inspired me! Yes I don't want to set myself up for disappointment, having a plan b is a way to get over it lol😂
The prices are astonishing for sure. As far as colors are concerned, I'm really over the warm color schemes in general. I've been seeing it makeup and apparel for several years. Super over it.
So funny you say that, I just had a "latte makeup" video suggested to me. Yeah I think depending on your colouring, sometimes cooler colours can be more flattering. In the winter especially (when I get less sun) I prefer cooler tones. Thank you so much for watching❤️
Hello Mary, new subscriber here. You can get very good quality coats, bags, etc. at 1/10 of the price of designer ones or less from higher-end high street stores, it seems crazy to me to spend thousand of dollars on designer items that may not at all be better quality. Remember when you buy a designer bag, etc. you are paying for all those expensive ads and shows they invest in, and only a fraction of that price is the quality, they've done a lot of independent studies on this topic. The chocolate brown coats do not look timeless to me, and the oversize ones will swamp a petite frame, are you absolutely sure they're the right thing to buy? If yes, go for a warm dark chocolate brown, not a dull brown that will drain you of all colour. Obviously you can spend your money any way you like, but it is easy to become obsessed with certain things, brands, etc. instead of mixing and matching and developing your own style. I have started to shop my closet and have recreated (actually bettered!) a Miu Miu outfit I've just seen on the catwalk, I feel chuffed about that and I've donated what I would have spent to an animal charity. You are young and lovely, you will look good in less expensive clothes and I also think that if something is so expensive you might feel very precious about wearing it every day and then end up hardly wearing it.
Yeah I think the cut is very important on petite frames. Maybe it's my features, but I find I can pull off cooler browns, but the warmer browns I like to wear in the summer. The miumiu rendition sounds fab and even better when you can save. I feel you on the feeling precious when it comes to very expensive items. Thank you for your feedback and appreciate you watching :)

Amazing score! I think preloved is where I'm going to have to go. Fully agree, chocolate brown is such an underrated neutral. Thank you for watching!

Yeah I know, it's crazy. I still can't spend that much on a coat lol!
You guys make me feel really poor :D
Could you do a video of your decluttering? It’s so interesting to hear why something isn’t working out for someone now
that would be a great idea. Since I'm in the midst of getting rid of some stuff, it would be a worthwhile video. Thank you for watching❤
Fillipa K has the Alexa coat in a chocolate brown colour you might wanna check out :)
Thank you for the recommendation! Will check out❤️
COS has very nice dark brown items now, the short coat, not long though but the color !
Ohhh I just checked, love the colour but def looking for 3/4 length. But fall items are trickling in, so I'll check back. Thank you for the suggestion❤

Ohh yes! Joseph is a fantastic brand. I know right, it shouldn't be that impossible, but it is. Thank you so much Annabel❤️
JCrew has nice winter coats and often have a couple in dark brown.
Great suggestion. I feel like J Crew in Canada (at least our website offering) is kind of meh right now. But will take a look closer to fall. Thank you for watching❤️

All of these picks are perfection and will instantly elevate an outfit👌
I got my vintage max mara icon (cool chocolate brown) on vestiare in perfect condition for 350!
What a find! I've heard so many great stories about great Max Mara finds on Vestiare. Thank you for watching❤
Hi , Mary . I wonder when you ordered product from fashionphile did you have to pay for import fee, tax, or delivery charge ? Sorry if I question you out of your title here . Please don't mind my English as this is my second langue .
Hey! To Ontario with Fashionphile via UPS I pay provincial tax 13% and UPS has a brokerage fee around $25, changes depending on the item.
@@MarysRoom Thank you verry much for answered my question.
I want a combat boot for the fall
Ohh yes, when I lived in the city I would wear combat boots all the time for walking around in. Thank you for watching!

I have a wool H&M coat for 5 years now and it's holding up great!
I tried on the FW women's Saint Laurent coat last year..the maxi coats that dropped to the floor... absolutely stunning!! I wish I had $6000 to spend on a coat 😫
It's so divine, basically a coat and gown in one. I feel you😫❤

Fully agree. I purchased a YSL peat coat in the sales for 800 Euro on mytheresa right before the pandemic. The prices are ridiculous.

Such amazing picks and so good you picked up the Nylon 11 preloved. But the prices new are painful. Thank you so much for watching❤️
Mary, the navy bag you hold up during your Celine 16 musing- who is it by? Ty!
It's the Hermes Her Bag. It's so good. Thank you for watching!
Coats and Bags I bought the row canvas Margaux. I’m waiting to see what celine.
I'm with you on the coats and bags. Love it in the canvas. Thank you so much for watching❤️
Hermes whitebus was always a favorite tote. A more structured margaux
Ohh great choice! It's like an ultra minimal birkin. Thank you for watching❤️

Ugh and Gentle Fluidity Gold is my FAVORITE fragrance… I truly alternate between that and Celine Black Tie everyday! You will LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!!!
Your love for the 16 and the Row in general have inspired me! Yes I don't want to set myself up for disappointment, having a plan b is a way to get over it lol😂
I can totally see why! If I only buy 1 fragrance for this year it is definitely that. It was my fav of all the MFK fragrances I tested❤️

I know its nuts!
Call me crazy but the YSL iCare tote. I just don’t want to spend 5k 🫣🫣🫣
Yes, sometimes we just have to draw our own lines when the price is too much. Thank you so much for watching❤️
A coat could never be that high quality to justify 10k … the brainwash is insaneeee
The Tri fold is stiff
Thanks for letting me know Heather❤️
