They generate jobs and economic growth, and the fact that millionaires worldwide want to have their apartment in NY speaks well of the city. With them, comes the money, which is spent in restaurants and stores across New York, when they come. There’s also a tourism boost that comes with the construction of modern super tall skycrapers, people want to go back to a city that grows. And finally, it’s a great addition to the skyline, since New York has a complete variety of styles, from historic to brand new.

And the attempts to invoke that era fall flat. One Vanderbilt, 45 Broad look nothing like them and shouldn't try.
I don't even get this demand for glass. Skyscrapers from the 90s, like 4 Metrotech Center
, have a mix of glass and 'brick' or some cladding that looks more Art Deco than the others listed above.
Hell I've been in some old buildings - 225 Broadway, the Chrysler building. They have huge windows with good views...why the demand for floor-to-ceiling windows?

@@Eshanas I don't know but when he said that solid glass building was "art deco" I almost threw up. There is nothing art deco about that. They like glass because it ages better than concrete. That must be it. But it is so boring, tacky, and I'm done with it.
I'm also done with the overthinking with design. Stop trying to conceptualize everything and build a building that looks good. Burj khalifa is gorgeous and one of the few modern buildings I truly love. It isn't "a statement on the perilousness of humanity against flow of water when crystals shine bright like the stars of our swiss cheese souls grouped together like a family in a world of chauvinists and sexists and misogynists." No, they actually make sense and are good to look at.

You have shown too many towers that are not what you are talking about or designs already scrapped. Sloppy editing.

He just appeared to include renderings of a lot of earlier proposed schemes for the sites that are under construction for some of the projects. They vary in amount used vs reality. Disappointing and leaves viewers confused and or conflicted vs the spoken narrative.

The old design for the skyscraper next to One World trade centre was a far more beautiful design. Clearly they chose this new design to make more money off office space. Shame. Its ugly.

They already announced a while back that they're not using that design anymore since they couldn't secure a tenant. Idk how this guy didn't see any news on it.

You need to rebuild the Twin Towers. It hasn’t been the same since, and none of these lifeless new skyscrapers hold a candle to it.

This is like a man in his 60s wishing his parents were still alive.
Bro we have to move on yes the twin towers were really great buildings but we just have to accept the fact that they're gone and were never going to see them again. It's time to live and move on
