After what I’ve seen of the Clubfoot so far in the show, this is gonna be a veeery satisfying moment. All his plotting and scheming came back to bite him royally.
I'm really hoping the portrayal of Cregan Stark in the show is going to be as satisfying as it is in my head. A scary, angry, annoyed northerner that comes down to just shame and or kill the people he's annoyed who then just goes home. I really hope his presence at least intimidates everyone as much as it says in the books.
As Varys said, there's nothing more frightening than a truly just man. Cregan couldn't be swayed or bought off easily, Corlys had enough friends (and his legitimised son Alyn Velaryon commanding the fleet) to persuade him to grant Corlys mercy, but Larys didn't have such friends or allies.

Part of the theory is that Brightroar was sold to the Lannisters by the Targs and the Targs used the coin to pay for faceless men.

Rhaenyra would've been better off in the North with Lord Cregan and the Northmen.

I honestly don't know what to make of Cregan Stark. He was loyal to the blacks but I find him too stern. More stern than his descendant Eddard. Someone I would want on my war council but not someone I could see being a friend and trusted confidant.

Nope. Cregan Stark is the true stark. He is cunning true to his sigil being a wolf. The truth is Stark is a dangerous noble house, being responsible for the extinction of around 4 or 5 noble houses in the north at the era before Aegon the conqueror become king. Ned stark on the other hand, even though he is a true stark by bloodline but not by how he acts because his father sends him to be fostered by Jon Arryn, he tends to act like a falcon which is Jon Arryn sigil rather than a wolf. He is very much being taught by Jon about the important of honor and honor solely, true to his house Arryn words, "as high as honor."
Cregan was only pissed he didn't get to fight.... But moreover that the courtiers had poisoned the king after swearing fealty to him because he was unwilling to comply with council. The clubfoot, Perkin, Orwyle, the kingsguard and The sea snake were to die if he had his way. Since Lord Jason was dead, and Borros dead, Storms End should bend this knee and cede land, and Casterly Rock should return the coin they received. Also the sea snake is a traitor as well, he was the queens hand and now is in with the greens who committed regicide.
