    Do you have a parts list? Would a higher steup transformer assist in its effectiveness and what is the step up trans former rating? What was the final cost?

    Does upping the output voltage allow a longer distance from the negative grid to the live positive grid allow or need a larger spacing between the grids? Seems to me having a window for seeing the bait level and a filling port without dis-mantling the bottom, plus having the bait at the circumfrence and a cone shaped hot & cold zapper at near the bottom would allow the dead bugs to fall out. With a grid so the bugs could not actually reach the bait would assist in them falling out instead of blocking the bait. Vinegar is claimed to be the best bait so using a paper towel or sponge soaked in vinegar along with something preventing it from evaporating would assist in its longerively between adding bait and removing dead bugs. I did most of these things - including doubling the mesh size and length and every day had piles up to 6 inches high every day and still had to unplug it and hode it down to rid the grid from bugs stuck to the mesh. I plan on putting all my mods into a few units. Then i seek to add solar lit zappers to an electric fense around the parameter of our farm acerage... the fence charger should provide the killer shock.

    The transformer coil and the Cockcroft-Walton circuit are basically two types of voltage multipliers in series.
    Have there been any efficiency considerations in place for the exact choice how the total voltage augmentation is divided between the two principles?

    most of the charges are arcing between capacitor legs in the series on the other side of the board ,that's why you have no arc at the output you should isolate capacitors legs or put them farther apart so that they don't discharge prematurely.

    Is my maths going weird here? The pdf for the transformer says it is a 1:5. But we will go with your 1:25. And we will go with you 3.7 as opposed to the 2v you had on power supply. So 3.7v x 25 = 92x6 capacitors = 555v, which would explain the small spark compared to the thumbnail picture.where is the 20kv?

    I love how at 5:10 you can clearly see a second person's hand helping direct the person who's actually doing the work. This is not the only video that this happens in. Makes me think that this entire channel is not quite honest. Quite a lot of the videos do actually work, but there are some fake ones as well, which makes me lose trust even more.
    Just our of curiosity, is there a way to up the discharge rate without replacing the transistor with a more powerful one? At first I thought that you could just use a beefier capacitor, but that idea I later realized wouldn't work. That'd make it take longer to charge. Using a less powerful capacitor would just result in it exploding.

      I think, the main limited factors are the capacitors in the multiplier circuit.

    You got to love the meter there so low voltage the 18650 should work a lot better than the meter got 3 400kv pulse transformer running like a motorcycle hooked in did you work out how to get low emp feild yet????. Nice test set!. 😃😄😁😆😅5 Smiles.

    To me it looks like some of the sparks are coming from somewhere other than the output wires. I could be wrong but I don't think the output of this circuit would be very much.

      It first creates a AC voltage, which than gets boosted by the transformer and multiplied by the capacitor circuit at the end. The capacitors limit the output current a lot, possible less would’ve even made more sense.

    The 1n4007 diodes only support 1000 volts, you should choose a 2CL71A 8KV type diode, you will obtain less leakage, making the voltage much higher, greetings

      Transformer ratio is 20:500 which is a 25x multiplier input voltage is 2 volts and there’s a 4 stage multiplier at the end. So 2 times 25 is 50 times a 4 stage multiplier which is 200 volts assuming perfect efficiency. The transistor is probably maxed out already the circuits not ideal.

    I dont know a whole lot about electrical work just yet, still in the learning process, but I was under the impression that transformers can not be used with DC?(direct current, i.e. anything that runs on an external power source or battery) but need AC(alternating current)

      When a capacitor is connected between E and C of the transistor, there will be a square wave generated by this. I tested it myself, it‘s some strange thing with the 2N2222(A) transistors.

    Não deu uma faísca legal, por ter regulado a fonte em 3.2V 0.16 A.
    Outro dia liguei um gerador de alta tensão numa fonte de tv Lg de 19Volts 1. 2A ... Quase infartei pelo susto que levei da faísca.
    Estou pensando ligar 2 fontes em série pra aumentar a voltagem, e usar uma antena direcional pra ver no que vai dar. ✌😎

      Dc, the transistor outputs short pulses of +5v or whatever the input is, like half square wave

      @@JjMn1000, i think it‘s AC because of the capacitive multiplier circuit and transformer. The 2N2222(A) transistors can for whatever reason give out a square wave, when there is a capacitor between E and C.

    This is fake i think. I am still at scool but i know some things about electronicts. And i know that a marx generator works with dc and has spark gaps. Also i can't se the sparcs very clearly in the video. And when showing the sparcs he is not showing the power supply. Anyway, I am not absolutely sure 😕
