Certainly her sexuality is one of those things fans like to debate. Please don't hate me if I said I don't actually think she's bi myself for example, lol. I've known many people that say stuff like she says just because they're comfortable around someone. But there's definitely evidence for her being bi too, and people argue about it too much I guess. We should just all enjoy her for being awesome no matter what.
@@DrLizShawOBE2 @DrLizShawOBE2 Funnily enough, VA's aren't allowed to express opinions as their characters or about their characters; Seteth's VA got in trouble simply for reciting some harmless memes about getting lost in McDonalds for example, in his characters voice; and Claude's VA does impressions of Dimitri, but never uses his Claude voice to say anything other than 'approved' Claude lines. It's actually quite restrictive, which is why, at least to my knowledge, you'll never see Allegra Clarke come out and say Shamir is bisexual unless a game or piece of media confirms it absolutely inarguably. Though I do think Allegra believes it to be the case of course, if you read between the lines of her statements. She can of course say her other character Dorothea is bisexual, because Dorothea openly says as much in the games, if that makes sense. (''I want to find a dashing husband....or a beautiful wife'') In terms of Shamir actually being bi, we have to look at author/dev intent. And what's interesting about Fire Emblem in particular is that the devs are aware of a large fanbase that enjoys LGBT content; in Japan this is mostly 'fujoshi' fans; female gamers who are fans of male/male relationships. Whilst in the west there is a large fanbase that enjoys LGBT content because they themselves are LGBT and want to see representation. Now the devs play to this to some degree; with their use of idealised platonic relationships, meaning that the characters become close and affectionate without stepping over into romantic territory. Such works have a large appeal amongst queer fans, which is why for example the Lord of the Rings movies have a huge gay fanbase even though the movies don't have any gay content in them; the depiction of idealised platonic relationships is an easy step for gay fans to headcanon things they want to see. And Fire Emblem follows this pattern too. That's why Fire Emblem having actual representation is a relatively recent thing; with 'playersexual' characters only emerging in Fire Emblem Fates, and inarguably bisexual characters such as Dorothea only coming with Three Houses (interestingly, Dorothea is still the only character who has outright stated she is bisexual in game text; other characters such as Edelgard, Mercedes or Jeritza just swap the pronouns and keep the same dialogue for romantic scenes.) The meat of all this is, the devs write the 'non romantic' A rank supports for characters that have them, to appeal to two crowds; those that appreciate idealised platonic relationships for what they are, and those that enjoy reading more into them if they want to. This is VERY intentional, and its also why, ultimately, arguing about Shamir's sexuality is an exercise in pointlessness; she is VERY much written to tread the line so you can read as much or as little into her words as you want. And if you asked a dev if she was straight or bi, the answer would probably be 'whatever she is to you.' Shamir can be genuinely proposing to Catherine, or just joking because she is comfy with her close friend. Sylvain can be genuinely flirting with Yuri, or he can be joking. Either way to read it is perfectly valid. I went on a bit of a ramble there, but its a deeply fascinating topic to learn about how these games are written for me.
So does the fact that Shamir spent time in Abyss, and the whole reason for her being in debt to the Church of Seiros was she somehow fell afoul of Aelfric.
I wonder if thr Dagdans and the Fodlaners share common ancestors. Certainly they look more alike than the Almyrans or the Duscur folk do, its possible that the statue may represent the same God worshipped in a community before the Church, like how Donar/Thor was a common God between Nordic and Continetal Germanics.
Agreed. I love the two to death but if they don't reach a compromise on their differences in their supports, in more routes than not they are WAY too willing to kill eachother.
Shamir casually telling balthus that she has better taste in women than he does.
"...women..."
Guess you can say Shamir is a bit Sha-queer
Either that, or she’s saying that her tastes differ in that she has little interest at all
I loved that line and just how Balthus was so clueless 😂
@@CamusZekeSirius she’s not
Ah yes, the only woman I’ll ever romance in Three Houses.
Shammi lol.
oh Hapi, the nickname you give these character are wonderful.
Didi and Freckles will always be my favorites.
@@cybercoldymcphearson7338what about CHATTERBOX
Hapi should be thankful she's in Fódlan with Shamir and not part of Beidou's Crux Fleet...
Yeah
Her support timestamps:
- 0:02 Balthus
- 6:10 Hapi
- 12:40 Catherine
- 16:00 Shez
Okay, that Catherine/Shamir support was just…
Mmmm, my heart’s all warm and fuzzy now.
🥰
Even better, we now know that they not only conceived Beidou as a result of this A Support, but Yelan as well. :)
No support endings
I love Shamir! Whether she loves men or (most definitely) women, she’s ready to steal our hearts.
She certainly has stolen Thunder Catherine away...

@@AtheAetheling Allegra Clark herself is bi (I think), so that helps reinforce Shamir being bi too.

That statue mentioned in the Hapi/Shamir C support raises a lot of questions.
So does the fact that Shamir spent time in Abyss, and the whole reason for her being in debt to the Church of Seiros was she somehow fell afoul of Aelfric.

2:55 …Why can’t I marry Shamir as the female in the original game again?
She only gay for Catherine
Well, she did tell Balthus they have different tastes in women...and Balthus can get with F!Byleth, so...
Shamir in *"Makuta's goes to Hell A Third ways of final friday Arc Matoro's Legacy Ignition Saga."*
The best canonical bisexual.
Damn I can't romance Shamir in this game. I am devastated and it will not be getting my money anymore
Make both Sothis and Rhea's Supports pls?
They don't have any in 3 hopes.
This is my wife
Is Shamir bi?
yep. She's not romaceable with f byleth but there is very heavy subtext for her being bi.
There’s no way in hell I’d ship Catherine and Shamir. Nothing wrong with LGBT ships, it’s just the only person I ship Shamir with is Byleth.
