I guess we've all gotten used to the fact that a fast food chicken sandwich by itself is now around $7 or $8. Not all that all long ago that price would have included fries and a drink. But at least now the bun is RED, so there's that...

I'm still having a hard time seeing Whoppers cost upwards of $8. I remember when they were less than $2, and they regularly had them on special for 99c. I know everything's more expensive now, but it still doesn't seem they should be over $5.
A Whopper in 1990 was 99c. With inflation, that's $2.32 in today's money (2023). Even in 2018 a Whopper was $4.29. That's still just $5.18 in today's money. WTF?

The bottom line is that monetary inflation reflects wages and purchasing power, and wages have not kept up with the real world costs. I could easily buy a double Whopper, fries and a Coke 2-3 times a week as a teenager making minimum wage pumping gas, but now that's a near luxury. I now cook about 80% of my own food, and I still can't justify buying beef at $10/lb for the cheapest cuts, especially when pork or chicken is typically 1/3 to 1/2 the cost. There's something wrong specifically with the beef industry that's driving its cost into the crazy zone. The consolidation of farming and meat processing theoretically should reduce costs, but instead it has created near monopolies.
Gotta say, this is the first time I've seem ReviewBrah so visibly delighted at something he just tasted. Makes me want to get the Spiderverse sundae now.

Wow inflation raised the price of this burger even while we watched the video, started at $6.50 at 2:34, and went up to $7.00 at 3:48, then up to over $8.00 at 5:27. Crazy

i tried this last week at burger king that makes above average food for my area i can confirm it definitely tastes about the same as a regular whopper however the red bun seemed to be much denser than a regular bun would be not necessarily bad but definitely changed the overall texture

The only sandwich I ever really liked from Burger King was their swiss and mushroom burger. It would have been great if they had chosen that for this special edition. If they ever bring it back I would become a Burger King customer again.

I’m a big marvel fan and my gal went to Burger King to surprise me with a few of these. She said at the drive thru when ordered them the girl working paused for a sec, and my gf asked if they are out of them and she said no, just out of the red buns. She said ok and ordered 3. The girl said they’re also out of the Spidey verse packaging and my gal said ok. So she came home with 3 regular whoppers that cost $7.29 each. The only difference was the receipt tape, reading SV Whopper $7.29.
Was a sweet gesture but I had to lmao at the absurdity of it!

That appears to be one of the more balanced topping distributions I've seen or had in a Whopper.
The common use of Red Dye 40 is concerning because it has been linked to a host of physical and mental health issues, including ADD/ADHD, allergies, immune disorders, mind-storms (which are issues with the brain's wiring or electrical activity), and even inflammatory bowel diseases.
I hardly go to Burger King, this past week I drove up to my local BK the other day and they didn't have the Melts anymore so I opted for this burger, made it a double with 2 extra cheeses and was pleasantly surprised of how good it was

I am shocked you didn’t really touch on the Swiss cheese at all. That to me is the big difference to me from the regular whopper since the bun is just a regular bun with dye. I was eager to hear if the Swiss cheese changed the flavor profile of the sandwich at all but got no such analysis. Something to think about for the future. Thank you.
This review is not statistically significant purely because of this! He didn’t account for the fact that the swiss cheese may have been a confounder to his conclusion.
They use beet juice for the red buns, not dye.
