    To the point and explains how to do it well. Thanks bud, I'm about to tackle the same gasket and this was very helpful.

    Says “sorry bout that, I’ll just edit it out of the video” but it’s in the video😂😂 I love that

    The edition should be : "Audi A4-B6 3.0 PITA".
    It seems like everything in the engine bay is a pain in the ass to get to.
    I definitely feel your pain too.
    Great Video!

      yea haha just got to work with it. Mine was taken care of by the previous owners. So I've never had any problems with it. other then maintenance

      Yup, same here.
      I have the bentley manual, and it seems like TH-camrs like yourself give better explanations, and repair shop estimates give us the incentive to do the repairs ourselves!

    Thank you so much yeah man because every time I turn off my car after driving I'm noticing smoke coming up and I've came to realize the valve cover is bad and oil is drippin on the exhaust manifold is my thought

      When did you take the plugs out

  • @theearthisntflatpleasestop9899
    @theearthisntflatpleasestop9899 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    What is the torque for the bolts, and is the sealant officially recommended by Audi? I didn't use it and both are leaking. 7 foot pounds is right for the bolts I think.

    So helpful dude thanks so much and so you don't need to take off the timing belt or anything besides the screws to pop the valve cover off ?

    • @Dbobber
      @Dbobber  8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Air box, maf, headlights (makes it a lot easier to remove the timing belt covers)

    I have a little bit of smoke occasionally coming from under in between that air box and the valve cover. Do you think that would be oil leaking and burning from a bad gasket?

    So will this fix the issue with oil getting on the coil packs? One chamber had oil on the spark plug tip. I have seen oil on my coil packs when I last did the spark plugs and about 3,000 miles later my car once shut down cylinder 6 due to excessive misfire. I have a 2013 a7

    Great video. But you kind of put me off. Looks like a job for a pro mechanic. You made it look easy and like the tips about paying attn to gasket corners. I might try it, if I can use my wife’s car (if it goes wrong)!

    I'm appreciative that you took the time to document your changing of the valve cover gaskets. Truly, I am. But this video could have been half as long if you had edited any of the nonsense out.
