Having been through this process at the GCC, here’s some things I wish I’d known about the pre-op. 1. You can choose if you want someone in the room with you or not. I recommend having that decided before you show up because you won’t be asked. If you do not want to go back alone, state that to receptionist when you arrive or when they call you back. 2. Kind of like a doctor’s visit, there are down times when you’re by yourself waiting for the assistant or surgeon to come in. It can be an anxious or stressful time so just something to be prepared for. 3. You will be seen topless and photographed topless by someone who is not your surgeon and who you have not met before. There are assistants at GCC that seem to do some of the repetitive aspects of the pre and post-ops. 4. You won’t be drawn on until you arrive the day of your surgery. I wasn’t touched in my pre-op, only on the day of surgery but I imagine that could vary by surgeon.
This is super helpful. Im not of age to get the surgery without parental permission, but i look forward to working with someone as information and lenient as you.

Are there any interferences if I take a THC edible a week or so before surgery?
The recommendations could vary from surgeon to surgeon, but at the Gender Confirmation Center, THC edibles are ok to have leading up to surgery. 😊
