nah, I come from Taiwan, and I will say that the amount of ice cream scooping in the video is more of average-ish when you go to this kind of buffet

@@JBrander from what I know, if that is the case, usually restaurant will just let them scope all of it and replenish the ice cream after them leave to avoid ice cream cost, and the time gap between replenishing ice cream is usually an indicator of how much this restaurant earns, there is also some restaurants which replenish it immediately, but usually it is at higher price restaurant with more customers

Ma La Hotpot was easily one of my favorite meals when I'm in Taipei. Ridiculously value for money, extremely high variety of choices, fresh and good quality ingredients. This reminds me of happier times where friends could travel overseas together.

@@purchasedmemes8084 from what i can gather the price was for the hotpot, the meat they got with it, and access to the buffet. the amount of other stuff they were able to just pick up and add in was crazy. Even though it was for the 2 of them, if the price was for the hotpot and meat, you could have 4 people there and share it around honestly. and $50 split between 4 people is even cheaper!! $12.50 for all that is nuts!! even with just the two of them all that food was $25 each.

Actually we would add nuts whip cream, sprinkles,candy pieces, cookie crumbles, hot fudge, caramel, butterscotch strawberry, top it with a cherry and have a diet coke to wash it down. 😆

When the bill came and it was $46, I was a little put off. Then you continued your meal,... and holy crap that makes sense. Curry corner, noodle corner, seafood corner, veggie corner, cake corner, beer/soda corner, CURRY CORNER (I know I said it twice) AND an Ice Cream Corner?!? Good lord, I'm assuming you don't eat all day before and too full to eat anything the rest of the day?

Growing up poor, buffets were the biggest night out for us. Specifically Chinese buffets that were splattered all around. There is a big one by my home that has a curry corner, ice cream and sushi! Its always packed and difficult to get a seat without waiting a hour. But it is so worth it! You can get crab, prawns, crayfish all without being charged extra.
Though I think your wife is over there in a literal food coma.
