Fantastic idea to show closeups of the guitars, I didnt know there were so many differences in the hardware and it was nice to see it up close like I was in person.
@@MikePane NX standard models have very good stuff, CTS pots, switch and so on, i'm wondering if they have lowered the quality to keep the cost affordable.
@@EnomisTheGremlin maybe they have. i didnt recognize any quality issues. all in all the essential has a very good price-performance ratio comparing to the other models.
The switchgear and pickups are the same. The bridge is entirely new, and revised. The cost cutting was done with the body wood being locally sourced (according to Ola, that's a significant cost cut) and the neck is one piece versus a three piece neck using carbon fiber inserts, and no fanned frets. Other than that, all else is the same. Premier Guitar did a NAMM video where Ola discussed the changes.
Saw you on Reddit. Trying to decide between essential and used other, older model. my biggest concern is the string locks slipping in the older ones, and the Bridge being better but it’s hard to know what year based on the ads I see. The research might make me not buy one for a while.
Great backing track.I'm getting 1 from Sweetwater. Will be Plek-ed before I receive it.Had a Limited Run Trem equipped Strandberg-I wish I wouldn't have let go of.I asked for Normal frets for the TT guitars a few years ago. Glad to see I can get straight frets now.Maybe down the line, they'll do a straight fret Tempered Tuning guitar.
thx! 😍 Track is by me, will be released anywhen in the future. but does it work? I Thought True Tempered frets cant be straight. all in all pretty nice they made a strandberg with usual frets. but i have to be honest, i miss the fanned frets - just a bit 😅
I wanted so much a Astro red Essential, but unavailable in Canada. So I bought a Standard NX6 ( Tremolo Red). Deception a bit, but ok with the upgrade .
Don’t forget: the essential is the cheapest strandberg. For 1000 bucks it’s insane. But for some more bucks you get more features (like fanned frets) 😉 wish you the best with your strandberg 😍
imo its made of two pieces like the other models. cuz the fingerboard is much darker than the rest. the feeling of the neck is very similar, but i guess it is not that sticky. idk why
@@patledoc got it.. So the difference is: The Neck is made of one piece, without quartersawn and carbon fiber. to be honest i didnt feel the difference during playing
@@tamask7749 congratulations mate. My problem is that the price in Europe is 1200 euro so I would rather put a little bit more money and get a different strandberg
@tamask7749 I guess it worths the price . I don’t feel like it’s a cheaper Strandberg. Sure it doesn’t have multiscsle , but the difference isn’t big. The essential is a good option
i'd say yes. i Have a lot of fun with my Strandberg Sälen Tremolo and Boden Standard. Both have same PUs like Essential. IMO its one of the best guitars for this price, as long as you like the ergonomic shape and endurneck

Thx 🙏 yes that was the idea behind. Glad you appreciate 😍
I would like to know if the electronics are the same (blade switch, pots, etc)
I actually have no idea 🙊😅

@@patledoc Bro, totally worth it . Essential is nice but if they made a fanned fretted strandberg for same price I always would prefer this 😂 have fun
Amazing
Thx mate 🙏😍
The neck on the Essential is one piece, and is roasted.
Great video!
How différent is the neck finish/smooth feeling ?

Essential dont have zero fret and thats very good!
Uh yes , that’s right ! 💪🏻
How does the fretwork compare? Some people are claiming that essential has significantly worse frets
In my case the frets didn’t get worse , but idk maybe it’s unusual good build quality. I also heard other people talking about bad frets
So Boden essential is not Multiscale?
i will finally get one, its actually a feature i dont want and it comes in a cheaper package!!!!
@@tamask7749 congratulations mate. My problem is that the price in Europe is 1200 euro so I would rather put a little bit more money and get a different strandberg

How do they compare in weight?
Strandberg website says 4,7 lbs /2,15kg on essential vs 5lbs / 2,3kg on original and standard . But I haven’t proofed on my own
Is the essential still a good choice for the price of I play Technical Death Metal?
