Im so glad other people are calling this out, the video sickens me and I hate seeing it, the owner was completely abusive to chain them down like that.

1:00 while it's true THAT husky dog didn't die, there was another dog in that pack eaten by a polar bear that week. The polar bear isn't 'petting' the dog for fun lol - the man who owned the husky pack, and who filmed the video, was Brian Ladoon, and he was feeding the polar bears illegally...and the one day he forgets to feed the polar bear? It eats one of his dogs. But Ladoon claimed he fed the bears because he didn't want them attacking his dogs. And yet he leaves the dogs chained and vulnerable to attack...
Canadian Eskimo* not Huskies but yeah, the excuses Ladoon made were eh. Him feeding the bears are what brought them so close and he was told several times not to feed them. It's a shame that they were killed for his stupidity. I know Ladoon also had several dogs killed by a wolf pack however I'm not sure if that was also due to him feeding them.
@@terri3715 it's interesting because, according to wikipedia, "Brian Ladoon has the largest genetic stock colony of Canadian Eskimo Dogs in the world" after being given the mission of saving them by a Bishop in the 1970s. He's since passed away (in 2018). It seems the people who knew of him either admired him or disliked him. Hard for me to chalk him up without doing more research though.
Hey just as a heads up that polar bear isn't "petting" that dog. The whole story was that the people who owned the dog(s) would feed the polar bears, one day they didn't feed it and the polar bear ended up killing (and eating?) one of their dogs. I don't know if it was the exact dog in that video but it was one of their dogs. That video is from the exact person who got their dogs attacked. It isn't cute :( the polar bear is "testing" if the dog is edible.
Yeah exactly. The dog killed wasn't this particular one (but he was killed by wolves at a later time I believe). However multiple dogs have been killed by polar bears at that "sanctuary". "Churchill dog killed by polar bear on 'only night' owner didn't put out food" on CBC if you google. And there's more related articles. That Jason (DDOI) can't even check his sources properly and insists he's correct about the video is just ridiculous. He's missing the mark a lot with some of the content lately.

Oh that poor girl, watching her go from so excited to so upset, and remembering the similar mistakes I made as as a neuro-diverse father with a neuro-diverse daughter, almost broke my heart 😢
Don't know if DDOI is miss informed but the Polar Bear with the dog video is a bit old and a few days or weeks after the video was out, it was then found that actually the Polar bear had killed and ate the dog. It was one of those things where people hugely miss understand animals and think they are big fluffy creatures that are harmless, Polar bears are the most deadliest and will kill specially since their food is harder to get. It's a sad story and I'm pretty sure DDoI just didn't know as the common thing people said with this video was it was all ok but I'm pretty sure the truth is the dog was sadly killed and eaten due to people massively just being ignorant of animals.
You would think at this point he would know this though as the dodo had been severely called out for being misleading with this video as well like a year ago
1:55 that is called the peppers ghost effect. this happens when light projects onto a reflective surface (usually a mirror but in this case water) and onto another surface at a 45degree angle. A good example of this is the ballroom scene at the Haunted Mansion at disneyland/world. i have never seen this occur naturally though!
Note about that dog one. The dog was actually eaten by the bear. Them petting the dog is a sign of them testing to see if its edible. You can find the full video online where that dosn't have the happy ending we all hope for.
Fun fact that dog was actually eaten after that video was taken. The owner was under a lot of fire because he would preach that the polar bears were friends with his dogs.
Am I the only one that recognized that proposal trick from EvanEra’s video 7 years ago? That was really creative of that guy to propose using that trick
0:49 Okay I love your videos DD, you bring me joy every few days, but the polar bear petting the dog is in fact, *not* cute. Its basically deciding whether or not it should eat the dog... apparently the owner raised sled dogs and often fed the polar bears in the area. One day he didnt feed the bears and there was one less dog that day. Now i couldnt find any evidence saying that this particular dog was mauled to death by this particular polar bear, but my point still stands. I dont intend to send hate or demand you take the video/clip down, i just wanted you to be more informed about the context. Keep up the amazing work! ^^
The backstory behind the dog and polar bear is really messed up, kinda shameful to include it in this video. The tl;dr is it’s not a heartwarming moment but a video of predatory behavior from the polar bear and a shackled dog unable to escape. The dude responsible breeds dogs, keeps em chained up, and uses them as bait to attract bears for tourists (who he charges) as well as to record these “cute” interactions. Unsurprisingly, his dogs do get killed on occasion which is exactly happened shortly after that video was taken.

All the wonderful emotions swirling inside of her when she realized what she received only to have it crashing down when it accidently broke. The situation was made worse by her family's reaction to what just transpired (although unintentional) she didn't know how to react so she felt so bad she left crying. Poor, poor girl.
Your comment is kind and considerate - - - that young girl could not have known, that her new phone would pop-out of the box and break so easily!! Hopefully, things turned out ok after all.

@allwhatilove914: Bullshit! Your 2 year old knows about opening boxes? Neato. That doesn't mean a damn thing for anyone else. It was stupid for her parents to get mad. It is her phone, not theirs. Any time, money, work, or anything else they put into giving it to her doesn't excuse the parents bad behavior. That kind of over reaction, and instant anger only leads to anxiety, and other emotional problems. If I was that fathers father, I woupd've taken him over my knee immediately, right in front of everyone. That was an absolutely unnecessary over reaction. This is coming from someone who's father over reacted all the time, like he did.
I feel like Apple really should change their product packaging design. I've seen so many people dropping iPhones and breaking them (or nearly breaking them) because of the jar of the suction on that package. The parents of that girl were pretty hard on her for something that that package did, and mot to sound dramatic of course, but Apple really needs to figure out how to make either their packaging better, or the phones more protected (or not as easy to break).
I don't think her parents were pretty hard, it was an instinctive reaction and they didn't insult her nor humiliate her in any way... I felt really bad for her, she felt very embarassed and clearly guilty, but that's part of growing up. I'm sure her parents later gave her a big hug! :) That being said, yeah, I agree with you on the packaging design thing.
I think this type of packaging is intended, it is slowly opening, which brings tension and excitement to the one opening it, as if it were a big event. I might be wrong though, but I don't think so! Either way, I agree with you, I really don't like this design, they should at least protect the phone inside
I do believe that DDOI made a huge mistake by including that video with a polar bear and a dog in Manitoba. You can find plenty of research over the Internet with detailed background behind the video. I don’t mean random commenters randomly claiming “don’t worry, the dog is OK” or vice versa “the video is cut just before the moment the bear ate the dog”; but some conscientious googling will shed the light on the real circumstances surrounding the picture. I’m deliberately not providing any links to avoid looking just like another “truth-teller”; seriously, just do some basic search, compare the sources of information and draw your own conclusions. Maybe the best DDOI could do is to withdraw the video and find some appropriate way to apologize.

1:04 - A variation of that iPhone accident happened to my niece. Back in 2001, I gave her a REAL diamond ring for her 18th birthday. It was one I had been saving since my own wedding plans failed several years earlier. It turned out she had it for less than a week before she LOST it! I didn't find out about it for almost 2 years as she was so devastated and afraid to tell me. She had foolishly taken it off in a public restroom while she washed her hands and then she forgot to put it back on. She realized her error shortly after leaving the restroom, but when she went back, it was already gone. Since my sister and her family live half-way across the country, I don't get to see them very often. I kept saying that on my next trip that I wanted to get a picture of her with the ring. Of course, when I did go there to visit them, I completely forgot about what I had wanted to do and they never said anything about it. It took almost 2 years before things finally came together and she was forced to tell me what had happened.
Unfortunately, the clip of the polarbear petting the dog is very misleading, as the polarbear killed and ate the dog not long after. I hate to spoil the cute and wholesome moment, but it should really be stated that polar bears are not harmless teddy bears. Edit: Forgot to clarify it may not have been the same bear, and did not occur in the same video. It was a couple days after, when the owners forgot to feed the bears that night. You can google the story yourself, as it has been reported on widely since The Dodo's video on it a couple years ago.

From what I've heard, in the polar bear video, the dog was chained up and the polar bear killed and ate it afterwards.
Yep.
Or she just needs to chill and not open boxes sideways while pulling as hard as she can lol

Since my sister and her family live half-way across the country, I don't get to see them very often. I kept saying that on my next trip that I wanted to get a picture of her with the ring.
