Awesome Fly, thanks for the video. Can’t wait to tie this longer version. The Double Barrels make GREAT Poppers (without a very long back end) for Pike and Large Mouth Bass Size Large and X Large. You can pop them, twitch them, slow strip them. Both fish absolutely Hammer them.

Since the rear loop on the shank is not serving any purpose, why not cut it off?

Do you sell your poppers at all? The Davy Jones and scallywag are awesome

You mention to make sure flash is underneath. Will the fly stay upright or will it actually corkscrew as it is stripped?

The hook keels down and keeps the fly in the appropriate position. No corkscrewing.

Hop2it Thank you. They are shanks that I make myself. I’ll put together a video just of shank making and upload it this week. That way you can see what I’m doing.

Could my 8 wt throw that? Or would I need to upgrade to a 10? I think I could toss it - looks about the same size as the Rat King.

Haight's Wanderings, it’s a little bigger than the rat king, and will catch a little more wind. You could cast it with your 8 but it would be easier with a 10.

FYI: I got out and tried to swing this thing with my 8wt. (yes in 25mph+ winds). It threw just fine on my 8. I was getting it out there 50' no problem. The thing walks like a champ. Ill be posting some footage of it in the water on monday.
