Late to the game here....but when you castupstream, are you shooting for the bank and then stripping? I've heard that, for mousing, you should be trying to get as close to the bank and then bring the mouse out as you strip. Any thoughts? Great videos, man!!

I know he's right I've been fishing anywhere I can get my line wet all my life and catching fish. The adventure getting out of town is the aesthetic and some pressure difference maybe the harder it is to get to maybe the less pressure you don't really know who's found what and how often they go there

Level taper is completely useless when you can just get a tapered euro line that does the same and adds to accuracy and the capability to throw dries/soft hackles. Level taper should never be recommended. Just try a dry or soft hackle on your nymph rod with a tapered euro nymph line. You can bomb it out there and mend like no other, or very accurately cast close quarters if a hatch pops up. You’ll never use level taper again.

Can you do more of these ? I’m just getting into fly fishing and wanna make a few streamers for trout and it’s good entertainment when doing the dishes.

Hi, I see this often, that the (motor) driven site gets much more turns then the other site. I think I will try a device that I can turn from both sites.

Well done. I use the same system except I do not put an invisa-swivel on each fly. They are relatively expensive and hard to find. I use Mustad Fastach or Rio Clips (#3) for attaching flies. Works well for most flies with the exception of very stout hook eyes which are too thick and can bend the clips. A not on tying the Knot-2-Kink wire: do not over tighten the knot to go in with pliers a second time to really yank on it to close the knot. That will overstretch the material and cause it to kink or bend. The knots will appear to be too loose or open but that is OK, they will not fail. When clinching the knot, apply continuous, smooth forceful pressure until you fell the wire settle. In my system, the clip is the weak link because it can be bent by many fly swaps so eventually it must be replaced. For example, sometimes I have to replace the clip once on a week long pike trip.

I like skinny water but don’t think I have the skill needed to fish them.

We just fished this technique with Seth two days ago, and everything he says we did. Not only do they work exceptionally well, but on some incredible fish! The waters are as described, the behaviors of a hooked fish are spot on, and the gear, flies, and playing techniques helped us land some of the largest browns we've ever caught.

Trout season here in Wisconsin ends in about a week and I've got an evening session planned with my dad to our favorite brookie stream on Sunday. It's always disappointing to see the season come to an end, but it's also my favorite trip of the year. Cool temps, fall colors and brook trout. Can't beat it!

Your films are stunning, man. I wish I could achieve this quality in my videos. Your audio quality is just awesome. Best shot of the whole video was near the end with the drone flying side by side with the car and the sun was peaking from behind the field. Great stuff!

Awesome! Nothing like a day on the water with a fly rod… just curious, do you mind telling me what style Oakley polarized sunglasses you wear, and what color lens you recommend for this type of fishing your doing? There’s so many different brands and colors of polarized lenses, all are for a different condition or type of fishing which is definitely overwhelming, as I want them to preform like yours when you saw those fish in the river at the end. Everyone seems to say Smith makes the best polarized lenses for fly fishing. I see you have Oakley’s but I didn’t see many lenses directed towards river fishing besides the Split Shot model. I would hate to buy an expensive pair, only to find out they are the wrong lens my first trip out. Thank you 😎
