2 nimh is easier, it has a little less acceleration and top speed. You're able to purchase gearing straight from the Traxxas website traxxas.com/products/models/electric/erevo-vxl-116-tsm?t=accessories
I wasnt even aware rhat the 23 tooth was considered the top end pinion. I put a 45 tooth pinion on mine rofl.... I'm using a gigantic 3670 sized 2850kv brushless motor with 4s 120c 2200mah lipo and 120amp esc. It cooks.... I use the 23 tooth pinion for pulling my daughter in a wagon because I thought it was the low gear pinion lol. I guess my gigantic motor just doesn't care and beefs through it. yes, my revo is the 1/16, I just put 1/8 scale electronics in it because I can. It fits right on the stock brushed motor mounts and only cost me 65 for motor and esc and 200 for the car. I put steel driveshafts, 100w shock oil, custom super stiff springs, and the tbone racing chassis brace with skidplate, bumper and wheelie bar. It's too heavy to do much jumping even with stiffened suspension and heavy shock oil. I can only drop it from maybe 8 or 10 inches until it starts bottoming out. At least it isnt bouncy. All in all i spent maybe 320 bucks but its a lot of fun, pretty durable with the brace, and ridiculously fast.
The 23t pinion does give it a lower gearing ratio, I thought it was kinda funny they have it labeled as the high speed gear when it actually makes the car a little slower. I have a 43t pinion and castle mamba x system in it right now, I'm hoping to reach 100mph soon. That's awesome you're able to tow your daugther around with it, I thought it would be too light to do it but guess not haha good to know 👍👍
@@BashNcrash It helps that my daugher is only 2 and that the wagon one of those lightweight fold up wagons that doesn't take much effort to pull. It's not the old steel ones, it's some kind of cloth with a frame basically. Plus my revo weighs a LOT more than stock with 2x 2200mah batteries, steel driveshafts, and the 3670 motor etc. Your mamba setup sounds even more awesome though! Much higher quality than what I'm running, probably much higher rpms too. I've always wanted a castle setup but it's like 5 times as expensive. If you ever get a chance post a video of it!
@@alexcrowder1673 That's really cool, I guess it wouldn't take too much to tow, I was thinking of the heavy old steel wagons haha. I have a video doing speed runs with the castle setup and am gonna get it out soon for some more, hoping to the reach the 80's. th-cam.com/video/rpVQCPXMidE/w-d-xo.html
Its crazily fast bro! Nice
Thanks man, I got a new esc and motor I'm hoping to get in soon and do some more speed runs.
The original merv had a 19 tooth pinion gear, hints why the 23 tooth is the speed gearing I believe
Thanks I didn't know that 👍👍 It definitely didn't give it a higher top speed.
@@BashNcrash to give it more speed, you need to install a 45t spur
@@f687sNFM A smaller spur will do it for sure. Fastest speed I've hit so far is 71mph running 33/43 gearing on 4s.
@@BashNcrash what electronics, mine has a weird clicking sound when going in reverse or braking in the front portion
@@f687sNFM In this video everything is still basically stock. I haven't had any problems with mine yet but you might have a damaged differential.
Cool video!
Thanks 👍👍
What is the easiest to control 3s or the 2 nimh ?can i have a link to gearing
2 nimh is easier, it has a little less acceleration and top speed. You're able to purchase gearing straight from the Traxxas website traxxas.com/products/models/electric/erevo-vxl-116-tsm?t=accessories
Gotta love the CRASH!!
It was a nice little crash. Thanks for watching 👍👍
What gears for the 3s lipo?
I was running the 23t high speed pinion gear and the stock 50t spur gear.
@Nick A The 28t definitely gives it faster top speeds, I'm not sure why they call 23t the high speed gear.
@Nick A Yeah could just be a mistake, I knew it wasn't going to give it a higher speed but I wanted to test it just to make sure. Thanks man 👍👍
How is it that you are possible to run to Nance in Ceres on your E-Revo and I've tried that and it won't work what are you doing?
The esc has to be in NiMH mode.
QQ...I was said e-revo vxl 1/16 only supports nimh batteries...how did you use Lipo?
The vxl version supports up to 3s lipo.
Thank can it also support 2 3s Lipo batteries with connector?
@@rajatmahadevan9470 Yes, with the parallel connector.
Very cool video, I have to get one of those cars 😄
Thanks 👍👍 It's a really fun car, one of my favorites.
@@BashNcrash i also recommend putting Velcro straps on the body an shell of the car so you don’t have to pull out the pins every time 😅
@@sjek6636 That's a great idea! I did that to the rear of the baja bug body I had for it and it worked great.
The E revo run a lot
👍👍
@@BashNcrash 👊
Dont you hate when that happens now you got to pick it up☹
Yeah it's never really fun when you gotta run after your car haha
hello, nice video.. the 2s lipo what C does it? 30C-40C-50C?
Thanks 👍👍 It's a Traxxas 2200mah lipo 25C
@@BashNcrash how long does it last?
@@CoolD10 20+ minutes
Top speed top
Thanks 👍👍 I'm hoping to break 70mph next time.
@@BashNcrash ok🖒
