@@pgrcplus Lol, i can emagine! Safery first, i've hit a biker and my neighbor in a month with the Hoss... 😮 Really have a hard time making a choice on the next car.. Rustler 4×4, E-revo or its big brother.. Loved the positive video, only one that made me smile. Seem to be some issues with the Revo the more i learn about it but it might end up at a mini on 2s to be a little safer. Don't wanna fully upgrade a €700 e revo out of the box, that's to much. At least i found another cool rc channel in the process!

Cheers Jack, yes the 2S is a clear winner (I got a second). I managed a standing backflip with the 2S (indoors on high grip carpet!). The NiMh will be consigned to a shelf and the 3S saved for silly stuff!

It’s a great RC car. I have two of these Vxl 1/16 1st gen mini e revos and one of them does 65.2 mph on 3S lipo using two 3S Traxxas 1400 mah lipo batteries with a parallel connector. They are loads of fun.

PG RC Plus Yes bit you need to buy a 34 tooth pinion and a 43 tooth spur. Or you can just do 32 pinion and 43 spur and you’ll be at 62-64 mph maxed out with 3 cell lipo. 32/45 will probably get you 58-61 mph maxed out. I use the sky RC gsm-015 just like the one in this video. In kph it’s alittle more accurate.

@@jamesrobinson4950 I run mine on 3S all day long and it doesn’t do anything except maybe once in a blue moon seldomly I have to buy a new esc. Usually when you run it on stock gearing you don’t have to worry..... it’s usually you have to worry only when your running it on a higher gearing and on 3S. They recommended to me I run it on two 3S in parallel instead of just a single 3S.

7:39 is the first time we have a clue what your measuring the speed in. can barely tell it says MPH, i think
great video. should think about putting in a centre differential, will sort out the wheelie situation and stabilise.

i bought one of these 12 years ago. i never tried a 3s lipo, i had no clue it was that fast. to bad im pretty sure i put it away 11 years ago because so many things were wrong with it otherwise i would buy a 3s and bring it out of the depths of my garage. also, should have tried 2 NiMh batteries in series, then the video would have been perfect.
What kind of runtimes can I expect on the 2200mah 2S that traxxas sells for it?
Depends on how you run the car of course but we normally get a good 25mins out of each 👍
What are these Batteries? I cant find any that are fitting inside my Traxxas
They are especially for the 1/16th scale - part no’s: 2820X and 2823X 👍
How long would u say two regular nimh both in the truck would last ?
Depends on how you are running it, but a mix of driving and speed runs, two in parallel I would guess 25 mins or so 👍
What 3s battery did you use in the video
The Traxxas one made for the 1/16th scale, part number TRX2823X 👍
I got 1 brushless 1/16 e-revo. is trassis chassis and arms durable??
Chassis has been durable - when the stock arms break - best to upgrade with RPM - those ones haven’t broken yet 👍

Ah thank you 😊 I’m with you there for sure brother - same time period as well 👍 - Grasshopper, upgraded to Hornet spec, Fox, Monster Beetle, Super Sabre, Blitzer Beetle and then a 20+ year hiatus! Returned with a re release Monster Beetle then an Axial Yeti which I still ran brushed! and then got my confidence for brushless - Maxx, 1/16th E-Revo and X-Maxx. Aiming for a 5th scale Kraton EXB - but my lad is now working the Maxx really well on normal mode so may get him his own so we can race together properly 😊
Hello! Did you leave the stock pinion and spur gear that it came with for the speed testing?
Yep - and I’ll probably leave them as I’m now using bigger tires without gearing down 👍

Give a 5yr old the controls of a fast car 🤣.... Hitting the curb - it’s a small RC so doesn’t ride up it so much as bash into it - driver error..
2 NiMh in series are like LiPo 2S or 3S?

@@pgrcplus hey just got my merv, waited until midnight when the wife was sleep to do my first run😂. Wow! It's amazing, I think the nimh battery is plenty fast. I bought 2 3s lipos 🤔😣 why??? Lol. Could of saved some money and just got another nimh and ran it in parallel for how I'm going to drive this. Hey thanks for your review, you're spot on. Now time to buy a second 1 😁👍🏽
@James Robinson Awesome! It’s such a great piece of engineering isn’t it 😊 Wow 2 3s - well don’t forget you can run the 3s in training mode which will double the run time and keep the speed similar to the NiMh - and save on weight over running two packs at the same time 👍😊. Enjoy my friend 😎

Get some 2.2ich proline wheel and tyres traxxas mini e revo vxl gives you a higher top speed on stock geaing 50ish MPH 👍
